  1. Sheets is a butcher at first base, also. Not a graceful first baseman.
  2. Yankees are just way better. Sox have to try to escape with one win somehow this series. How's the crowd tonite? Just tuned in and checked the box score both.

Me too. As a frequent traveler, however, I am saddened and appalled that hotels have changed their policies for the most part. Generlly with the big chains, you have to pay one night a week or two before your arrival date. It used to be you could cancel up til 5 pm on the day of arrival. Sad times. My flight got canceled one time during covid and I canceled my trip and still had to pay one night hotel. I even sent a letter with proof plane was canceled. Still had to pay and am honors member.

Is it OK to start a thread within a thread? I don't want to get in trouble cause I have no ulterior motives to discuss politics or anything. Just a Covid question. ... I see this expert says more boosters are coming and we need to get them. Sounds ominous re. the spread in fact if Americans don't re-up their booster immunity. My question to you is ... how many boosters have u gottem so far and will u get more? You don't need to add your reasoning as it will get the thread derailed and locked. For starters, I've gotten 3 shots and am wondering a.) have I blown it already by not getting shot No. 4? And when do u figure I should line up for shot 4 and ultimately according to the article here, shot 5? I'm a bit concerned if this article is correct cause I am starting to think many Americans are pretty much done with vaccines/shots. Peace be with everybody. https://www.yahoo.com/news/ap-interview-us-vulnerable-covid-195842741.html
  5. Is Jose just unlucky? greg eyetest time. Don't know his BABIP but when I watch, he usually hits the ball, just right at somebody. Albeit most are routine grounders or pop ups. I do think he could use a good hitting coach about now. I do not think he's done. I think he has a bad approach for whatever reason. As far as Ron's initial post ... just wondering if there has ever been a Sox player you stuck with as a fan all the way through his career? Jose seems like a bad guy to bury considering he's had a fine career. You have the right to despise him but I just wondered if there's every been a Sox player you stuck with all the way through, good times to bad. I worship Jose in a non religious sense so to speak and that's that.
  6. Thank u sir. I regret you think most of my posts are trash tho.
  7. Maybe this was fake news but I read this week 2/3 of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. So I can totally understand why attendance is down. I know there are deals to be had, but for the most part, going to a baseball game is now something the average south sider can't afford. We've been through this before, but how many people on the southside can afford tickets to a good seat, parking, and a couple food items? Yes there are deals, but the basic idea of going to a game (most normal people don't hunt for deals; if they want to go to an event they just go) is something most fans do not even consider. So 20,000 is about right. I'd say 10 to 15000 of those fans have some disposable income to work with. (Not to get political but do 2/3 of americans really live paycheck to paycheck? At least at this stage I've been blessed to avoid being in that group, knock on wood). https://www.cnbc.com/2022/05/11/two-thirds-of-americans-live-paycheck-to-paycheck-as-inflation-climbs.html
  8. When the Sox lose, it's easy to look at the roster and lineup and point to five or so guys who could easily be in the minors, not the majors. When the Sox win, some of these guys seem useful. That's why it's best sometimes to just shut up and watch the game. For proper perspective, I'd listen to Stoney. He's not a homer like Jason. For instance, when Abreu screwed up on that big play and slept instead of throwing home right away, Stoney immediately pointed out the fail. Not many announcers will do that in this era. In his game summation, Stoney cited the walks of Kelly as being huge pointing out another goat of the game.
  9. I forgot about that. You are probably right questioning age on him, but he doesn't look that old in the face.
  10. Stone does a nice job. That was a perfect summary of the game if you are objectively speaking. No need to overreact, just listen to Stoney's ending again if you want the perfect summation of the loss.
  11. Jose is a mess mentally at the plate and in the field. Wonder if he's bored for some reason. I still think he can hit; he just doesn't hit.
  12. It's silly to talk about a comeback from an 8-run deficit. Kind of embarrassing., Just take the loss. If KU scores five, maybe we can talk.
  13. If the Sox are under .500 at the all-star break, I would think Tony would step down citing fatigue. Hahn probably won't resign or get fired cause he most certainly didn't want Tony in the first place.
  14. I'm still mad about all those years the Sox tanked during the rebuild.
  15. Is it hyperbole to say the Sox will be fortunate to win one this series?
  16. What's with all the walks? Sox playing bad baseball. Nice blast by Moncada though to tie it briefly.
  17. Too many walks. The defense falls asleep. Sox defense clownish again. Jose falling asleep again.
  18. Burr gives me a burr in my side. Bam! 450 foot HR.
  19. Small sample size but Gavin is never gonna hit lefties is he? Anybody see any potential there? He's only had 10 at bats vs lefties this year, one hit, so I would think he's a platoon guy at best the rest of his career. A guy they pinch hit for late when he faces a lefty reliever too? Just wondering but he appears to be another lefty hitter with no chance vs. a lefty.
  20. If Eloy gets hurt again within 2-3 weeks after his return, I'd classify him as a bust. He's at that stage in my mind. Sad cause he looked like a monster prospect, can't stay healthy. Now it's up to him. If he rakes and stays healthy thru the postseason, he'll be rightly considered one of baseball's top prospects still.
  21. I wouldn't bunt there with two of the team's better hitters at the plate. They'd have screwed up the squeeze bunt I'm pretty sure. Managers shouldn't be bunting at all any more. The metrics people have deemed it wrong so it's wrong and no reason to have it in the playbook any more.
  22. Exactly. It's dumb to tweet about injuries via "sources." Just get an official update from the trainer, geez. If Hector is correct and he's playing in two weeks, nice job but cmon.
  23. Save this thread. See when he really returns to the MLB team. Two weeks would be still in May. Cmon, no way they are rushing this guy.
  24. That is the million dollar question. Sudden bursts of speed seem like a recipe for disaster with some of the Sox incredible physical specimens. Sox should give Richard Dent a call and asked how he prevented hammy pulls/rips.
  25. Natural progression would have Eloy getting hurt a week or two after his return, this one for the rest of the season or til the start of the playoffs. Sorry to say, he's now got to be considered 'injury prone' til he proves otherwise. And he's not going to be back in two weeks. There is no way the Sox will bring him back quickly just to have him suffer a severe relapse.
