  1. By the way. Another bad loss. Sox aren't in the same class as the NYY. (Capn obvious part infinity by me).
  2. True dat. I don't get worked up at all any more. The fact it's a Yankee who said it (tons of fans across the USA) means Donaldson probably won't get canceled. Sick of cancel culture. Flavum said it all here, but I'm sure most everybody on this board and in the world will say flavum's stance is wrong. Seems to me Donaldson thought he and TA had an inside joke since Timmy said he felt like Jackie Robinson sometimes. A sigh and yawn from me, but I realize Donaldson is on the cancel ledge if not canceled already. Only thing would save him is Yankees are doing well and NYY fans will have his back. Peace out. (I realize my position on this is the minority so keep that in mind if/when u respond to blast me). I just agree with flavum's post is all.
  3. Sox have had enough rainouts that those could have been the "rest" days Tony and Hahn so value for their players. So stupid to rest guys. Heaven forbid the best hitters play both games of a DH. Too much work for one day.
  4. How come the Sox aren't hitting many HRs? Robert has the HR stroke once in a while. I guess Sheets. The rare times he gets a hit it's a HR. He has 20 hits, four are HRs. Vaughn 18 hits, four are HRs. Abreu 28 hits, just three HRs.
  5. I may hate this team but I am a Sox fan and I'll applaud them for the win and 3-2 series win. Glad to see Anderson and Robert do well again. This team blows but it is our fave team.
  6. That damn winning streak got me excited again after I'd given up on the Sox. Mentally I had checked out. If they lose today it's time to check out until they somehow reach 10 over .500. Sox brass have to be worried about the tank/rebuild right now. Can't imagine this unit winning anything of note right now. Scary. I guess if Tim, Eloy, Robert, Grandal, Moncada, Abreu are healthy at the same time and get hot at the same time excellence is still possible.
  7. They do hit a ton of foul balls. .... boring baseball on the South Side this year.
  8. Is Hahn on a one-year contract? I can't imagine him sticking around after his contract runs out. He's not put together a very good team even though the team is banged up.
  9. Why is Lopez a reliever? I thought he was a major acquisition during the days the Sox were trying to lose to get better draft picks to go with the Sale trade and Quintana trade.
  10. I wonder if the Sox lead the league in foul balls.
  11. Just getting around to the game. Hard to believe the Sox lose as many games as they do to this wretched KC team. You'd think the Sox as a franchise would want to dominate the Royals when the talent is in the favor of the Sox. What a joke. Sox finally have much better talent and can't rule the Royals. Sickening.
  12. With all due respect, no way! It was conceding the game basically. Did u listen to Ozzie postgame?
  13. He is too old to be managing a big league team. Sad but true. You can't stop Father Time as much as you want to. He needs to step down. I love his career and am all for him pulling the strings still, but he's too old for this. Many people stop working around 65. Tony is 12 years past that. My gosh. And big league managers work 15 hour days for six months of the year.
  14. Would you guys look at the replay and tell me it was a good send? My gosh. Disagree fully. Robert prolly would have slashed a double off a reliever who wasn't missing bats and a team that sucks.
  15. Surprised you wrote this. I mean, cmon. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know he was going to be out by the proverbial mile. Just no reason to send him. The chances of Robert putting the ball in play and finding a hole were way better than sending leadfoot Harrison.
  16. Two very bad baseball teams split a DH. Sox may ultimately get good. Right now they are boring and very very mediocre to lousy. And the 3B coach should be ashamed of himself. You can't wish a guy home when he has zero chance of making it home. Awful baseball games today. No bats.
  17. I swear ... how can a grown man who lives baseball 24/7 be that dumb to send him? It's insane.
  18. A Babe Ruth League player could have thrown him out at the plate. This loss is on the third base coach if the Sox lose. Sickening.
  19. So stupid. Go for the jugular and the sweep. KCR team is a mess scoring three runs in 2 games since firing their hitting coach. The Sox best players should be playing instead of conceding Game Three of the series. Nice win today with Jose taking off since Ron ripped him.
  20. Yet didn't it sweep the Sox at the Cell earlier?
  21. Ron ripped him and he turned into Abreu again. ... As far as this game, walks and strikeouts can be boring, but I'll take any W.
  22. Why don't the Sox call up that lefty starter out of the U of Kansas? He's ready, folks. His name is Wes Benjamin. Bring him up!
  23. I'm so sick of the rest thing. Here the modern advanced metrics people who I like to refer to as stakniks have changed the game so much for the worse (IMO) and yet we stick to this age/old, timeworn crap about baseball players needing rest all the time. It's ridiculous. If it is in the cards for Robert to get hurt, he's going to get hurt. Playing two games in one day at his age is not a stress on his body. He had a big game yesterday and should play in all five. He doesn't need rest for gosh sakes. Cal Ripken didn't need rest. Same game. The Sox injuries are not caused by overuse of the body. It's either cause of quick bursts of motion running the bases or running after pop ups or it's inability to field a position correctly (Eloy vs, the wall). Somebody calm me down. I hate the 'day off' topic in baseball. This isn't an NFL game or hockey game! It is baseball, a game played at a leisurely pace. If anybody needs rest it's 77 year old Tony. He should skip the nightcap. The rest might help refrresh him mentally.
  24. Nice job by Robert again. Great starting performance and closing job. First game of a five-game set is big. Sox aren't going to do something disfunctional like lose all five. Now the Sox need to crush KC in both games tomorrow, be up 3-0 in series and go for the five-gamer sweep. Not saying it will happen, but Sox are due to start playing .580 ball instead of .500. KC is a lousy team, fired its hitting coach today and Sox pitchers have no excuses. This is a pathetic opponent. So let's win four or five.
  25. He's had good success in Kauffman Stadium. Time to root for Jose to bust out of his season-long lousiness.
