  1. Now that they are one over .500, time to re-focus on those division games the rest of the season. Sox definitely have looked horrible vs. teams they play the most. ... As far as today, love it. Tony coulda got reamed and would have had the Sox lost: Sunday lineup, no TA, pitching decisions. But Sox won and he looks good and the team looks good still with some key players hurt. Jose Abreu was a factor in some of these road wins, baby. Liam was awesome on the road trip. Tim was excellent. Others too. Just.Win.Baby and give Tony some credit where it's due if u are a hater.
  2. To be fair, the haters need to make a list of Tony mistakes vs. good moves and give him credit for this one in the good moves column. Ultimately all that matters is winning rings, though, and if the Hall of Famer wins a ring with the Sox that would be huge for his legacy.
  3. Another great question. There has to be a rule somewhere right? Otherwise yeah, they woulda taken the suspension.
  4. Incredible post. Sox beat writers need to get on this one. Tweet it to one of 'em. Good observation.
  5. Good job rookie. Nice win. Don't need a controversial loss where everybody's blaming Tony. Jose baby. Sousa, many others. Sox win.
  6. Luck is a pretty four-letter word. Sox need some luck here.
  7. This is crucial for the season. a.) a rookie comes in and gets the final out in a huge win. Everybody's happy. b.) The rookie fails miserably, Sox lose and everybody blames Tony for the loss of winning streak by needlessly making this move.
  8. I'm not crazy about Sox lefties. Hopefully this guy won't throw two to the backstop or give up a HR. Me likey Ruiz and Foster. This move may be one too many.
  9. How bout a 4-3 or 1-3?
  10. Will Ruiz get the job done?
  11. Infuriating. I have mlb.com for 100 bucks or so and I can't watch. Peacock is trying to make me get premium to watch. Sad.
  12. Getting back to .500 so quickly is huge. Sox were really looking like a team that might have a very very disappointing season. It's disappointing Vaughn got hurt and Sheets has been horrible. Moncada will be a huge key. Anyhow, if the Sox continue to reek against Central Division teams the year will be lousy. Those games are key and Sox have stunk versus the Central. I personally think the Sox have been more alert playing the Cubs and Bosox.
  13. Watching the highlights just now I was amazed to see Pollock scoring that run. Then it hit me also he was the phantom runner. I thought the same thing. He's been such an awful acquisition I wondered for a sec what he did to get on base.
  14. Sometimes there's reverse jinx involved in gamethread posts too. As much as we know it's dumb some of us fans may rip a player so the reverse jinx will hit and he'll get a key hit or key pitch on the mound. I need to stop that though.
  15. Sorry I doubted the team. My bad. They are probably going to earn my respect pretty soon. Love me some Abreu and Liam and Engel. And Cease. Boston 0-6 in extra innings; Chisox 1-2. Sox playing well and beating teams outside the Central Division. Nice win. Congrats to the team and LaRussa. Yes the hitters stunk but a few of them got hits late when it mattered a lot. -- I just watched the highlights. Jose may be old but he's not a bad baserunner. I implore you to watch the replay of him scoring on the single to center. Perfect form taking off immediately and rounding third perfectly. A good throw might have gotten him but he was not running that slow, either. Cheers to Jose who is not finished yet. He'll have his doubters the rest of his career but he's still OK in my book. That double was a nice piece of hitting, stroking it to RC.
  16. shoulda been the ballgame there. Oh well, Bosox will win it and Jason will say what a great game it was. I'm out.
  17. Pollock is a very unlikeable hitter. Another bust acquisition apparently.
  18. Now if Bosox score will complete the thrilling game scenario.
  19. Sox score that first run so effortlessly then turn to bat at bats. Weird team.
  20. Ugh. Timmy can't loft a deep fly ball. Bad at bat.
  21. Nice job. Complete the deal, score again and let Liam close.
  22. Mabe the Bosox closer will choke. The team does have a bad record.
  23. Glad nobody got hurt on the pop up.
  24. What a thrilling game! Sox had two runners on base in the eighth. No quit! Red Sox had to get an amazing bullpen performance to put out the fire (sarcasm; game sucks cause of Chi. bats).
  25. Surprised he made contact. He had no chance. (captain obvious).
