LaRussa anthem story making national headlines
-- Not sure where our mental illness situation ranks compared to Europe, Canada, Did u see the murderer in Texas drove around with dead cats in his car? The USA has a lot of crazy people out there taking a LOT of drugs. Not sure where we rank in terms of insane people on drugs but we have our share. We need to somehow help the lonely, the outcast kids, the persecuted kids before they turn into mass shooters. Mental health. Parental supervision/help. -- You said: "America is the only country where citizens have to be protected from the tyranny of their own government? That doesn't say much for the country and it's leaders." It is sad but a fact. Many/most? DA's in many states won't prosecute violent criminals now. That means there's so much more potential violence out there anyday. There always will be bad guys no matter what the far far lefties say. If the government isn't going to help protect the law abiding citizens, by gosh, yes, they must be armed to protect themselves and their families. It's a bad thing in America, yes, but some of the decisions made by DAs and politicians make law abiding citizens need their protection/guns. Do u agree with this assertion caulfield, tex? https://nypost.com/2022/05/30/new-video-shows-texas-school-shooter-salvador-ramos-holding-bag-of-dead-cats/

Ron, at least that particular NEWS STORY (not an editorial) was not full of opinion, bias, agenda driven stuff. Unless I read wrong it seemed fairly cut and dried giving facts not opinion in a news story. Yay.

LaRussa anthem story making national headlines
You ask decent questions. Wearing a pin doesn't make one a better patriot IF the protester is protesting peacefully and not causing disruption of traffic , injury to onlookerss or destruction of property. If the person wearing the pin or flag shirt is screaming at others and/or attacking them, that person is no patriot. Ditto the protestor. Once you bash a window you should be in jail not the protestor hall of fame.

Maybe the yoga is keeping him healthy. Maybe some of the Sox with hammy problems should take up yoga. Seriously. Sox players need hammy help.

LaRussa anthem story making national headlines
Good post. Thought provoking questions. Where I get frustrated is many loudmouths think there's just one side to every issue. The banning of assault weapons makes a ton of sense. But as somebody willing to listen to both sides, I do think Americans should be armed and need to be armed to protect themselves against the government (if it gets that far ever; I don't trust govt officials cept for a handful) and against carjackers, home invaders. Your second point: I am in favor of women having total control of their own bodies and them deciding to abort yet I hear those who don't want babies aborted after a certain date. I shudder thinking about what that even suggests about a 7 month old. Ultimately I trust women to make the right calls bout their own bodies. In short I feel there are two sides to almost every issue. In terms of assault weapons, yes, both sides should rid us of them yet it would be nice if at the same time we arrested (charged and jailed) gang members who WILL keep their assault weapons. Cmon folks if we are gonna ban them (and we should IMO) we better allow our cops to stop the bad guys from keeping and shooting theirs. Always remember before one screams at somebody for having an opinion different from yours (not directed at caulfield who I enjoy on here and respect). You are not 100 percent correct just cause it's your opinion. Peace.

When did we take the wrong turn?
I like this post. I'm not a vocal Tony supporter any more. I do think his performance this year is a D. And last year when he didn't support Yermin it really ticked me off. I'd give him a C for last year ONLY cause Sox made the postseason. My vocal support goes to Ozzie, not Tony. But I don't despise having Tony at the helm. The injuries have hampered him.

Cease and Graveman to Restricted List; Crick Up
I really like Burger. As a loudmouth fan I was vocally against drafting him. I like his hitting style. Not the greatest third baseman at all defensively but I would think he could improve. My apologies to King Burger. He's hitterish and I like the way he looks on closeups on TV, like a real ballplayer.

Some peeps with four vaccinations have gotten covid. I still respect Cease as much as I did before. And I'm three times vaxxed not looking forward to any monkeyvaxx or further covid vax.

War in Ukraine
-- Did the USA really send that 40 billion to Ukraine? I ask because to me, a non military expert, it seems painfully obvious Russia ultimately is going to win battle in Ukraine whenever it decides the war has raged long enough. We all know the Russians have the capability of winning that war in a second if they truly wish to do so. I am thinking that if u are just going to give 40 billion away .... use it here. Lots of people here could use some cash (homeless, people who can't afford fuel for their cars, etc.). -- Why is it politically incorrect to say Ukraine is losing the war? -- Finally why are people not talking about the potential for WWIII springing up more and trying to get Russia to settle diplomtically with Ukraine? Also China seems awfully mad at the USA's saying it would defend Taiwan. Russia hates us and their leader could toss a bomb or two our way at any time if they get irritated enough.

Joe Crede baby! Love me some Crede.

When did we take the wrong turn?
Is Tony really this bad? I know some people have said this regarding weird things some older politicians have said. Tony has had a horrible year so far but is he physically and mentally this bad off? Does he really hide in the corners of the dugout? Yikes.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Yet you had to be happy the team pulled this one out and won it for Tim A. I agree this team is pathetic but the wins usually have some joyful moments in them. The team blows but winning 3 of 4 vs. Cubs was nice.

LaRussa anthem story making national headlines
I wish people who hate on the USA daily would read this sentence. The U.S. gets criticized so much. Today I would like to say thank you to the families of all our soldiers who didn't come home from all the various wars and conflicts. Truly thank them.

TA out 3 weeks
On a warm day and a normal ground ball, TA suffers what ptatc is saying normally is 8-12 week injury. And obviously the type of injury that could return at any time. Sox can't replace TA effectively with anybody on the current roster. Eloy is still a ways away. Obviously Sox need Eloy and Burger and Yoan in the lineup every day. Jose is going to have to get white hot and Vaughn is going to have to hit like an All Star. Little surprised this team is incapable of hitting home runs in the age of lift and pull. I'd say if Mendick/Leury are the replacements for TA, team will be absurdly bad on the road and .500 at best at home. No chance in hell this team makes the playoffs if Tim is out 4-12 weeks.

Eloy rehab starts again 6/21
Is Eloy going to tear that hammy even worse once he resumes full time status? Seems like it's not gonna be pretty on the next tear. These well built athletic specimins just seem like their body parts are going to explode at any time. Eloy is 6-4. Winfield was 6-6 and didn't get hurt all the time. Dye was 6-4 and didn't get hurt all the time. Call them up and get them to send over their training regimen.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Great win. Went into church when score tied. Glad to see Sox won and Burger got the big hit. This team does blow but even the most critical fan has to be happy the team didn't give up today. The resilient victory was nice to see.

05/29/2022 - Cubs @ White Sox
Disagree. The Sox have made good contact on many of their grounders right into the shift. Why not hit it where they ain't? Are u kidding with the insult? You can't go calling people names. It's not right on a fine Sunday. Since I'm obviously ruining your day, that's my last post in this thread. Have a nice day. Peaceout.

We need an expert to weigh in. It sure seems like the Sox's best athletes are the ones that get hurt a lot. Maybe we need somebody with experience training basketball phenoms and track phenoms to stretch our guys.

Do all teams hit into shifts like the Sox do? Quite sad and perplexing. When you make contact as an MLB player, why not steer the ball into the vacant area. "Hit it where they ain't," used to be a mantra that worked.

I just thought the same thing. Seems like the Sox's great athletes have bodies conducive to these type injuries. WTF.

Really? That would suck, suck, suck.

I'm not even mad anymore, just sad for Tim He is a truly exceptional ballplayer. Maybe it's a cramp.

If Cease keeps pitching well, Sox might win this one. Oh wait, 54 pitches so far. He'll probably only go 5 2/3 or 6.

I like Burger. That said, just another guy that just hit right into the shift.

Good play by pitcher, but he woulda been out anyway. There was a huge hole between first and second, but shift.
