  1. Are we allowed to comment on posts like this? I think I'll pass or once again I'll be responsible for shutting down a thread eventually. I'll just say if Tony gets replaced and they go with a Sox guy, to pick AJP over Ozzie would be really really baseball dumb.
  2. I wouldn't call us apologists. We recognize he's won three World Series titles and is one of the most accomplished managers of all time. Yeah he's getting old. That's not his fault. The walking a guy on 1-2 ... he should never live that one down however. Benetti really was grilling Stoney and Stoney answered the questions with short answers. Jason: "How often do you see that 1-2?" Stone: "Doesn't happen often."
  3. my bad; wrong thread
  4. Harrison's batting style is not conducive to hitting a fastball. Please dump him.
  5. What a terrible swing on the high fastball. Keep your eye on the ball and hit it. ... OK 96 is pretty fast.
  6. 110 pitches in 4 2/3 for Cease I see? Ouch. That had to be painful to watch. Nice 8th inning so far. Sox can win maybe.
  7. The bottom line is this guy is the president at a time gas prices are highest in history. He said the buck would stop with him. All I hear are excuses. People aren't dumb and are going to vote so many leftists out of office it'll make your head spin. This is the USA and people aren't dumb. Whether they want the gas hikes to force everybody to get electric cars sooner than planned or the leaders simply don't care we're hurting at the pump ... or that we believe it's Putin's fault lol, one thing is certain: this president is in office now and doesn't seem to give a bleep about the little guy/gal and lots of them elected him. Their revenge is coming in November. p.s. if the guy acted like he cared an iota about how we are hurting at the pump and in line at the automatic check out in the grocery store I might be able to support the guy. All he does is huff and puff and yell about Trump and rightists. Again ... people aren't dumb and Joe's gonna find that out in November, Tex. Do u agree??
  8. He's not old yet. He has a "name." Change of scenery time. Sox would have to pay some of the contract obviously or send a lot of money in the deal.
  9. That's why I enjoy the wins when they come. The losses have been oh, so pathetic. Four hits in the summer is one big LOL.
  10. Just tuned in. Bats dead again. How is Moncada only hitting .138? Change of scenery time for him. Commit to Burger at third, either move Moncada to second where his bat won't matter as much (Harrison is just as bad) or trade Moncada for 3 prospects, one a first-rounder.

Good ol fashioned summer fun in Chicago. It's why if you live in certain cities you must carry. https://patch.com/illinois/beverly-mtgreenwood/2-armed-robberies-reported-mt-greenwood-witnesses-describe-teens?utm_term=article-slot-1&utm_source=newsletter-daily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter
  12. Nice win. Season is so long. Hopefully team is on an uptick in June and July. They've been OK months in the past for the better Sox teams.
  13. I hear you Spumoni, it's not my place to say but I'd humbly suggest to lighten up. Sure Sox games are crucial to our overall mood as fans, but they won the game. Your posts seem a little wacky sometimes. Again, the Sox won. So what if they almost choked it away. Try to enjoy the wins. They drive me crazy, too and I didn't watch the game live. As a fan I shook my head and laughed at them almost blowing it, yet I watched the highlights and was happy. Peace to you. Hope u can enjoy the wins the rest of the way. If not that's fine, too. Just my two cents.
  14. That's a weird post. All wins are pretty satisfying. Wins make people forget the blunders in a certain game.
  15. Never underestimate a win. This marathon season is misery personified if u can't enjoy wins. That said, some bats are showing life. Burger, Vaughn, Robert, Abreu, Mendick. That was a fairly nice series.
  16. Nice win. Good to see 4-5 guys hitting fairly well. Love me some Burger, Vaughn, Robert, Jose especially.
  17. Burger wins that one. Beautiful home run. Graveman was one meatball away from blowing it in the eighth. He got out of the jam barely. Good thing. That would have been a ridiculous loss following Burger's deep drive.
  18. I didn't realize Moncada was 10 for 73 this season. That's hard to do. One double and two bases on balls all season so far. Geez he stinks. I'd put Burger at third and see if any team wants to take Moncada off the Sox hands. At 27 he appears to be a bust for whatever reason. Sad but I'd go with Burger at third and bring Crede in to teach him the tricks of playing 3B well. Or I'd move Moncada to second now. Who cares if he minds? 2Bmen are a dime a dozen and even if he hits .200 that's as good as Harrison. Sox are a mess but nice win today.
  19. I was so wrong about Burger. I thought he was a stiff from Missouri State. I thought he was fat, instead he's Bob Hoerner. Go Burger! Game not over yet with Graveman coming in.
  20. There should be more of a national outrage about gas prices IMO. Maybe people have more disposable income than I thought. I'm upset during trips to the pump.

Does Houston arrest, charge and throw bad guys in prison? My guess is yes. Got to be a deterrent.
  22. Boy the Sox stink without Timmy. It's amazing how irrelevant this team is on June 3. Bummer.

I can buy all this. Good post IMO. ... Do u agree with me at least the gangs are laughing? They got their guns; they got their ammo. They are pretty much set. But I hear you and tend to think it'd overall be a good thing if guns were harder to get. I do fear those who already have the guns/ammo tho. they are ruthless and do not care about human life of others.

I do remember some of this, never as bad as today. I remember the days decades ago when NYC was very dangerous. I remember my dad had to go to NYC for business and the family all worried about him going there to be in a very very dangerous city so to speak. I do remember fear in our household of his trip to NYC. Then NYC got cleaned up to where it was very safe til recently. I do not EVER recall Chicago being known as a very very dangerous place with its weekend murders and carjackings and home invasions an actual serious problem (now there were serious riots under Daley for the convention that Chicago will never live down). I don't live there anymore but I have tons of relatives and friends in Chicago who are afraid, flat out afraid. One successful businessperson who lives near downtown is not afraid, but prepared for when he gets assaulted, not if. ... I do recall some of the bomb shelter talk many moons ago, but again don't remember it being a very legit topic. Just seems much much worse now in all regards, so much I think any person, especially ones in big cities, need to think about having guns for self defense/family protection. For school shootings ... I would be in favor of armed guards at schools and allowing teachers to be armed, but frankly it's not just schools. What about churches, stores, concerts sporting events, seems to me there are too many places where mass shootings can take place. It's scary. But I doubt I'll ever get a gun. I have to hope society wises up at some point and becomes kind again.
