  1. Sorry to be a bother, but where can I find the September wallpaper scrensaver? thanks.
  2. There probably are too many "complacent' personalities who have underachieved. Those guys should be called out by Ozzie and/or KW, who like you said, probably haven't done that. But the original statement was about tanking. If they are purposely "tanking" that is a major crime.
  3. Southside ... the love of former Sox stems from the fact they are so much better than the guys who've tried to replace them.
  4. They should be banned for life if it can be proven they are purposely "tanking." You are paid; you play the game as hard as you can. If not you should be banned forever. Heard of the Black Sox?
  5. I agree with your position. What will be will be ... that's fine with me. I just don't understand those who copy Cub fans and actively want us to lose. I don't get it.
  6. It's not like they've been playing great baseball. They're still losing at a rapid clip. WHat do you mean it doesn't make sense? Have you ever played a sport? These guys are getting paid. You go out and do your job and play hard or you should be banned from the game for life. People that want the No. 1 draft pick so badly baffle me. It's not like the Sox will sign that pick anyway. Build through free agency, and Japanese players and trade for a reliever this offseason. In the meantime, just win baby.
  7. Iguchi .... good. Danny Richar ... so far, bad. OK now post how great Richar is with his .200 batting average and how dare I criticize somebody so young. Yes, I realize he's young. Yes I truly hope he becomes a good player. Iguchi is much better right now and I'd bet probably will be for four more seasons. Again, bless you Danny Richar and I hope you make it. You've had some nice hits, just not enough to get over .200.
  8. We'll find out next summer when the Sox struggle and/or fail to sign the No. 1 draft pick that has many fans hoping we lose.
  9. Hope for the future? One draft pick? My gosh, how misguided some are. Free agents ... victories ... foreign signees. The draft? One pick? No way.
  10. Those standings are embarrassing and annoying.
  11. Exactly. Another reason I don't care about the draft as compared to us winning games.
  12. This may be the dumbest thing Mariotti has ever every written. LaRussa is a hack. He like all managers wins with talent, loses w/out talent. The Sox talent right now is in question. Must be nice to be Mariotti; change his opinion every day and when questioned about it by guys on that TV show says with a frumpy face, 'hey, things change.' Ozzie is as good as any manager out there. La Russa is no savior and Mariotti knows that.
  13. Jeff King? Brien Taylor? Andy Benes? White Sox making the decision? It's still a crapshoot.
  14. Good list. Some great. Some good. Some not so good. Crapshoot.
  15. I don't want to give up on him. But don't you think he'll be a specialist against lefties? He's been the second best reliever behind Bobby. I was just saying he made me cuss at the TV a few times. He was the same as the other relievers during that stretch where the bullpen stunk every night.
  16. You guys want to lose every night to get a shot at those names? I'll be breathless counting the days til the draft. Give me free agents and Japanese players any day over no names in the draft that likely will not pan out judging the Sox history of draft picks.
  17. Logan has not been great every outing this season. He's been horrid at times.
  18. KW doesn't need an extension. He's not going anywhere, either. Reinsdorf made that clear. Who would you rather have, Oz, Girardi or Piniella? I'd take Oz. Give him a good bullpen and 2-3 improvements in the actual lineup and he'll win again.
  19. I respect your position on this, but like I asked, when are you going to give up next year and hope we again have the worst record in baseball? Where does it end for you? The Sox have won one world series in about 80 years or whatever. The odds are great they may not win another one in your lifetime. I mean we're talking odds here. So if the odds hold true, each year the team is not in contention are you going to spend most of the season hoping your team LOSES? That's my point. Why want your team to lose? It makes little sense. You played baseball. Don't you see the foolishness in wanting your team to be embarrassed in the hopes of getting a draft pick that could be David Clyde II??? Give me victories or give me death.
  20. I've done that with Mike MacDougal, Ryan Buckvitch, Mike Myers (at least let the real Austin Powers take the mound instead of this hack), Thornton and Boonie Logan.
  21. Uh, he won a World Series two years ago in a city that simply DOES NOT win World Series. He deserved the extension. How soon we forget.
  22. Great move. This should tell all the underachievers Oz is in charge for some time to come. Now KW needs to get his act together and fix the roster.
  23. SADDEST, MOST PATHETIC RACE IN THE GAME
  24. Are you serious? For a No. 1 draft pick who like some astute poster said we'll likely be too cheap to sign? I know a lot of you played baseball in high school and college. Have you ever considered tanking a game in your life? I wanted to win every single game when I took the field. I want the sox to win every night. I don't understand this obsession with the draft. Why aren't you talking about trades and free agent signings? Who gives a s*** about the baseball draft??? I am embarrassed that the Sox, who won it all 2 years ago now are the laughingstocks of baseball. I want to win EVERY GAME we play against the Royals. I can't believe my fellow sox fans want them to lose every game. Amazing.
  25. I'm not blaming those who want the Sox to lose for the team being horrible. Try answering this for me. If we wind up the worst team in baseball which is likely, we get the No. 1 pick and all of you will be so happy waiting for the draft. Chance are the team will suck again next year. Let's say the team goes 1-10 to open the season. So now are you going to root against the Sox every day next season starting in mid April, and the season after that and after that, just so they can keep getting top draft picks? I prefer to win every and any game possible and hope the GM signs some free agents and makes some decent trades for a change. The Royals have stunk for years. You think their No. 1 picks have been that good?
