It's pretty obvious Vaz is a good guy to have on a staff. The Sox starters have been so good. It's a shame we're not in first place because of injuries and horrid bullpen and the dumb acquisition of Erstad instead of somebody good.

Thank God Ozzie let Vazzy pitch the whole game. Buckwitz and the rest of those bullpen stiffs (except for Jenks) would have blown the game like they did for Mark.

Cause I've been through this argument before. I do not care about the draft. I don't. I want to win every game played. I simply could care less about the draft in a sport where most of the draftees do not even make the big leagues.

Fair question. I hate to say this, but I'll take anybody that's not a former Royals player right now. And I did have some hope that the team could overachieve and perhaps finish .500 this season, fathom. The 5-1 road trip, despite the opposition and bad hitting against KC, gave me hope. Add to that the opponent tonight and the six runs ... I think it is a really bad loss.

This game may be remembered as the most disappointing of the season. Nice road trip, signs of life. Some offense tonight. Then this pathetic showing. I know the season's already over, but this may be the game remembered as the worst considering the opponent.

If Buckvich isn't sent down tonight, KW should be fired. He cannot pitch at this level. If the Sox keep any Royals rejects on the roster, again KW should be fired. My gawd. Let tonight's game be the one that drains the Cell of fans the rest of the season. WOW! What a disgrace.

I don't think it's unreasonable for fans to be furious at getting rid of one of the best, most likeable players in Sox history.

Nice, we got 3 hrs. wow. If we trade Mark, I wish I could say I would boycott the Sox forever. I hope a lot of fans do, but I probably can't stay away.

Some people act like it's good business for the Sox to suck the next 2-3 or more years. You think the owners of the team are going to want to be horses*** while rebuilding? You try to put the best team out there every year. Trading Jenks would be moronic. There would be no closer and just another reason to lose more games.

That was great stuff. I learned it's mighty tough to kill a cow. Boone is awesome. And he's right; the stuff coming from the stands from fans is asinine.

I thought our offense was good in Tampa. It stunk in KC. Today's game was typical. Nobody could get a clutch hit. Lucky that Garland knows how to field his position. He slowed down that sure base hit up the middle that woulda tied the game. Great road trip in terms of results. I wish Thome would start hitting some bombs. Paulie had some good games on the trip. This may get me flamed but Podsednik's injury could really be key. We play better when he's in the lineup.

Great selection. Garland and Mark B wouldn't be out of place on the team but Bob deserves it over them.

The fanbase should riot if Mark is traded soon. Think about our staff minus Mark. Not nearly as good.

Nice post, Jason. Neat to read how the ex sox are doing and there are so many of them around. I sort of miss Olivo as a backup to AJ of course. And of course I'm one of the Rowand lovers. Maggs ... amazing season. Good for him. If the Sox get rid of Iguchi, will they re-acquire Durham to end his career here as a 40 something?

Too bad Danks couldn't get the win. Another quality start by the Sox. Amazing starting pitching this season. Does Scotty Pods deserve any credit? It seems he's been playing pretty well since he returned. Nice win, Sox.
