  1. Now with Crede out, it only figures to get worse production wise. I have a question for those who get to go to the home games. Is the Cell a morgue with our lineup so horrible? Are people visibly frustrated? Booing? Sarcastic? Or do they just expect Dye to pop up and Paulie to whiff and AJ to pop up and thome to hit it right on the ground at somebody playing him perfectly in the shift? Just curious. Or is everybody just happy to be at the park watching a game? I'd think the lack of runs and the bullpen being the worst in baseball would make fans on edge at the Cell.
  2. I was never crazy about the Royals rejects in the pen. But I assumed we'd be OKafter readin how gret our bullpen was by all the experts in the magazines as well as being convinced by those on here. MacDougal sucks.
  3. That is the line of the season. You can't win without talent. Period. I hope somehow the team can start hitting home runs in bunches because that's the only way the Sox have a chance at contending for wild card. That is assuming the starting pitching stays this good.
  4. The guy isn't healthy. Why won't people give him a break. His fielding alone has made him incredibly valuable. Another guy who we wouldn't have won a World Series if he wsn't in the lineup. To the person who said they are excited about Crede injured ... my gosh, please get a life.
  5. I hope he is ready because as has been discussed so much, Crede's back problem isn't going away this season. Poor guy may need that scary surgery in offseason. You'd think it'd affect his future earnings. His back problem is gonna kill his hope for a big money deal.
  6. People, MacDougal is no good. I mean if the Sox keep him I hope he stays in the minor 2 more seasons with Sisco because the guy is not a championship caliber pitcher. He is inconsistent, wild. He is no good.
  7. I don't know what they can do. I'd ship Aardsma and MacD and bring up whomever to replace them.
  8. Fine, but as that type of fan, do you want KW and/or Ozzie fired? That would be ridiculously stupid after both were instrumental in the Sox title. Take a look at the video of Reinsdorf celebrating with Oz and KW after that title. It is insane to think either would be fired so soon after giving Chicago it's only World Series title in 70 years.
  9. I hope Kenny has tired of these pitchers 6-foot-5 and taller. They tend to suck.
  10. Why can't people listen to southside irish? He's right! Why would any Sox fan want KW or Ozzie fired? You think the Sox are going to win it every year? They brought us a title. They aren't dumb. They are going to realize many of these current players suck and they will adjust. I disagree with a lot of their moves of late (acquiring the Royals rejects) but a year and a half removed from the title and many want their scalps. Like he said, get a clue people.

    LMAO

It's not funny but this team is going nowhere. The bullpen isn't going to magically turn around. Only hope actually would be for KW to try to magically make a great trade to acquire some veteran middle relief (I know it's not available) and/or get an outfielder of note like some of you have suggested for weeks. The starting pitching is good enough to contend; nothing else is.
  12. Is the Sox bullpen the worst in baseball history? Except for Bobby.
  13. Let's acquire Wakefield and bring up Haeger and let them pitch middle relief every single day.
  14. I'm all for change, but the Sox wouldn't have been any worse had they kept all the players from the world championship team instead of the tinkering they've done. The players we've acquired with the exception of Jim Thome haven't done squat. And as much as I like Thome, don't you all agree he's no longer capable of carrying a lineup? He's getting older and definitely hasn't hit many homes in bunches this season. I'm surprised anybody would want Oz and/or KW fired however. Again ... they led us to a World Series title. This franchise and this city hasn't done squat with the exception of the Oz-KW led title season.
  15. It's really the curse of the Royals when you think about it. Sox brass thought MacDougal and Sisco would be vital cogs in a world championship bullpen and both really truly are worthless just like the KC franchise.
  16. Great post. There is nothing Ozzie can do. If the White Sox organization wants to fire the only manager in about 9 decades to lead a Chicago baseball team to a world title, go ahead and be the laughingstock of baseball. Talent plus chemistry plus some luck in one run games equals success. The Sox do not have the talent to compete. My gawd. Our outfield is a total joke. Our bullpen may be the worst in baseball except for Jenks. And our sluggers are having the opposite of what would be called career years. Great post. It is mostly on Kenny. I wouldn't fire him either, though, personally, I'd just try to regroup and hope we catch onto something in the future. Go ahead and fire Ozzie if it makes you feel better. It will not matter just as Piniella is not mattering for the Flubs.
  17. Fire Ozzie if you want. It will not matter. The middle relief is horrific. We are not going to the playoffs with this current roster.
  18. Ozzie is Ozzie. It seems to me you love him or hate him. Put me in the love category. It's our talent that has sucked. When is Moronottti gonna write his first Lou Piniella bash column. A fight in the dugout??? That's on the manager folks. And if he rips Lou find that column in the Sox series where Lou was proclaimed a god.
  19. We could argue this forever about whether it was wise to rid ourselves of Rowand, but how can you say he's not a good player????
  20. So true. We need a reliable veteran middle reliever we can overwork to get us to Jenks. Day certainly was horrible. His pitches screamed "hit me" against the Twins who embarrassed the Sox today as usual when Santana (four runs?) is pitching.
  21. Count pitched horribly in that sixth inning, but my gawd what do you want Ozzie to do? The Sox bullpen is horrible. I mean when he took out Count you knew it was only going to get worse.
  22. How can you not love a guy very very responsible for the Sox winning the World Series? He'll always be one of my favorites for his role in the playoff victories and Series victory. Clutch.
  23. It's hard to beat the excitement in the old Comiskey in the summer of 77 when I went to 20 games as a kid. That team hit the ball soo hard. I remember Soderholm hitting a home run in the sixth inning to break up a no hitter against Kansas City in the first game of a doubleheader and the Sox winning. Sox rolled in Game two with Jim Spencer hitting some rocket shot off the facade in the right field upper deck. I also saw the Royals score 3 runs in the first inning of game one on a Friday night at a packed Comiskey. The Sox got four in the bottom of the first and won 11-9. Of course that season went to s*** but it was after the summer had ended. It was a glorious summer, lousy fall.
  24. Exactly WC Sox. This is different. There is swearing in baseball. Managers don't win games; talent wins games.
  25. He is a great columnist; Mariotti might be good nationally but if you read him often you come away realizing he has no perspective. His flip flopping is amateurish. The worst ever was in a 7 day span calling Ben Wallace the darling of the city to basically calling him crud that deserves to be traded or run out of town. Great Trib columnist!
