It would help if Joe Crede becomes a stud hitter. If not ... we coulda got Randa for what, 3 mill? Does anybody know what Randa earns? Joe Crede's emergence or lack of it, could be vital to whether our smallball attack is really small. Should we have picked up Randa?

I will say I wish we kept Lee and/or resigned Maggs. At the same time I know it freed up money to bolster the rotation and I guess we can't have best of both worlds. He didn't mention much about Frank and if Frank comes back healthy that could solve a lot of lineup woes.

I don't blame Oz for going with our closer, but I just saw the highlights on ESPN. Wow. Those 3 batters just teed off on those meatballs. Sure hope Shingo of last year is Shingo of this year.

Steff In my opinion, said it all when she said, "It's been this way for the last 20 years..." Let's just hope we play exciting ball and we get big crowds during the warm weather months. It is wild, though, that they can play two day games in April and basically nobody attended.

We will win it I predict if we are 1-2 games of the lead when Big Hurt returns. I am not a fan of our lineup minus the Big Hurt. I think Detroit and Minnesota might both be better than us sans Big Hurt.

I do think it's a big series more than a big game, though. Man I wish they'd blow up the humpteydome and play ball outside up in Minnesota.

Dustin Hermanson looked great in the 8th. Ozzie lifted him just because Takatsu is the "closer." I've never understood that mentality. --I agree with you, but also agree with those who said this is the way the game has "evolved." Everybody does it so we did today and got burned. But like Donkey said, it's not always automatic as he had some examples, too. It is frustrating though. It really was frustrating when we did it for Koch. Yikes! Hopefully like you said it was just a bad day for Shingo!

I thought Robin was pretty soft spoken. He'll need to open it up if he wants to be able to be an analyst. Those guys are required to talk all the time. Didn't Hawk get on DJ one game for not talking enough? I love Rock Raines and remember his Sox days fondly but isn't it interesting that he pretty much stopped running when he became a Sox. Remember how he built up the body and stopped stealing bases or am I dreaming this??

Interesting part of the article to me was they booed him for having a bad April. I don't think Sox fans would bury a guy after one month like that. We've had several Sox start slowly before and I don't remember anybody getting booed. As long as the team isn't buried in April, I don't see any reason for a plethora of boos.

The writer was high on Iguchi. I'm really looking forward to seeing him play. I guess Willie is a good backup plan if Iggy bombs out. But if Iggy can hit and AJ can hit, those are big-time upgrades. For some reason I am thinking those two guys will do well but our speedy ex-Brewer will flop.

AJ is key. We need him to be a stud in the order. If he's a big offensive upgrade at catcher, it can make up for some of the power outages with the loss of Lee/Maggs, etc.

Getting Maggs out when we play the Tigers. Beating Minn. Beating Cleve. Beating KC. We have to kick ass on the teams in our own division. We gotta beat these teams consistently unlike the past. I realize Minn is always good, but KC, Det, Cleve ... cmon we have to start beating them.

Good replies. I told you it might be me having a frozen brain. You have convinced me we have made many changes. Bring on opening day and lets beat the pants off the crummy teams this year like The Royals, Det and Cleve. We must dominate them if we want to make some noise.

I've wanted to post stuff just to stay in touch here, but I've found it to be sort of a dull offseason. Do you all agree? (Hinrich is damn good for da Bulls) I like our pitching staff now, hoping Marte comes up with a huge year to close with Shingo. I like the guy from Milwaukee and Dye if he's healthy, but I'll miss Maggs. I love the new catcher. But I haven't been juiced enough to make many posts. So I ask ... has this offseason been more dull than last or am I frozen in the cold and without an original thought. (Hinrich is a floor general deluxe) p.s. Why is New England so good every year?
