6/18 game PPD, rescheduled 6/19 Doubleheader 1:10PM
Holy cow. He last managed in 1969. That's 56 years ago.

As fathom suggests, the Sox are an afterthought. The media bean counters probably are happy ... saving money by scraping by with very little coverage.

6/18 game PPD, rescheduled 6/19 Doubleheader 1:10PM
No managers truly have a clue. It's all about talent. Venable is just another guy, which is OK. If Ozzie would have taken a couple off season classes on how to deal with the media, he should still be our manager. In those pregame dugout chats he'd get himself in trouble over and over again. But cmon. Name a baseball manager who truly is special. None.

Sox are in love with 30-something stiffs. Somebody should make a list of all the acquisitions of these type guys since the first tank/rebuild. Slater, ugh.

Lars Nootbar? U got to be kidding me. Sounds like a guy who plays for the Bananas.

Tidbits Slater ... see u later; Rojas can't hit a cookie; Noda brings nada; Capra should stick to directing James Stewart films. ... Getz as in wreck.

That was a bad loss. I don't know anything about our bullpen guys so won't assess blame. Back in the day when we blew a game the reliever was well known. Will the Sox win Game Two or lay down?

Count down to Ishbia thread
It's baseball's fault for not contracting these teams that have owners not having the money to compete. Shame on the commish for his silence re. the wrecking of a fine franchise.

Count down to Ishbia thread
The manager should make out his lineup and then call in his coaches and show them the lineup. Last night they'd have laughed and changed it. The losing on purpose grows so old. Anybody in the commissioner's office could figure out the Sox want to lose and punish them accordingly. Frankly I think the franchise should be contracted. Bring an expansion team to town. Call 'em the Chicago Hangwoofems, make Hawk the first manager.

Count down to Ishbia thread
Glad to see the Cardinal hit the HR off Capra. Too often when teams put in position players the guy avoids giving up a bomb. BTW, Cards will take us lightly the rest of the series. You know what dat means? Bet the house on the boys from the south side. Maybe parlay the over with a White Sox win. Lineup today was lousy; skipper figures to use a better one rest of series.

Official NBA 25-26 Thread
Oklahoma City clearly is the better team. Small market franchise to win it all. ... Haliburton obviously is hurt; the announcers should lay off. Not every incredibly bad performance can be attributed to choking. Game Six: All about heart. OKC is clearly the better team; does Indy really want a game seven? That is the question. They should. They should want to win at home and then the inevitable crushing in game seven. Not sure if I'd bet the house on OKC but I'd be tempted. Too good a team compared to Pacers.

Arlington Heights making stadium pitch to White Sox?
The teams aren't going to leave Missouri. If one of them was smart they'd build a new stadium by the racetrack in KCK. But they won't leave Missouri.

Today Game! Father's Day. Rangers vs Sox
I just never would have thought I wouldn't care if we win or lose. I used to take losses so hard beford I got conditioned to losing. I mean only somebody whose sanity should be tested would care if we win or lose. Either way we've been to the point for some time now it matters not.

Today Game! Father's Day. Rangers vs Sox
For some reason the team is still that historically bad team on the road; ok at home tho.

Today Game! Father's Day. Rangers vs Sox
For some reason on Father's Day it made me sad thinking the Sox over the past couple years made it to where thousands of us now don't care if our favorite team wins or loses. In the spirit of sports, that's very sad. I mean out of all the Sox fathers and sons and daughters watching the game today on TV (albeit not many), none of them care if we win. Jerry you must be so proud of your team/franchise. What a crock Jerry. At least we have cool hats to give the kids.

Illinois High School Basketball Thread
Any St. Laurence grads in here. They won their first baseball state title today, beating Benet in the 3A finals in Joliet. I think it was 6-4. Brother Rice lost in the 4A semis on Friday. Is there a ton of baseball talent in the Mt. Greenwood, Oak Lawn area to fill both Br. Rice and St. Laurence's roster with baseball studs? Is baseball a huge sport on the south side now or has it always been that way. By the way let me know when Rice announces its new basketball coach. Stamos left. I read a good article in which I think he said he was expected to do too much stuff besides just coach. He said he wasn't ready to retire so I wonder what high school will get him. He's a good coach.

Baldwin Back, Palacios DFAd, Owen White to AAA, Tyler Gilbert recalled, Ryan Noda claimed from BOS
Good job by the Sox trying stuff. Noda sounds dandy. Worth a shot.

Sox trade Andrew Vaughn to acquire Aaron Civale
They prove Greg's theory that you don't need to tank/rebuild. You acquire players the old fashioned way and keep them, not get rid of everybody because tanking/rebuilding was the way to do it for a couple years. Sox are destined to be like college sports. Total roster change every year or two.

Sox trade Andrew Vaughn to acquire Aaron Civale
Best wishes to Vaughn who obviously got ruined by our coaching. He had no chance in Chicago for whatever reason. Hope he finds lift and pull heaven with the Brewers. Why all the negativity toward Elko. Earlier in the year the fanboard was clamoring for him to come up to the bigs. He's only a 10th round pick but I thought he was the next Dave Kingman. Let's support Elko folks and not hate everybody.

Quero and Tauchman can hit the baseball. Both good pickups. Whoever got us Quero knows what he's doing especially.

We have hope, we got The Pope!
Are we expecting a disco demolition type crowd in terms of size?
-
We have hope, we got The Pope!
If this draws a big crowd it is a huge deal (will it?). As such you'd think the Pope would give the homily. Not that difficult to tape a 10-minute homily in Rome and play it on the scoreboard. Certainly the Pope knows about this Mass at his fave park.

6/11/25: Sox at Stros 7:10 CDT
He needs to lift and pull such pitches over the wall.
