  1. Do the Sox beat the Twins or officiallly let them end their losing ways against us again like last year? Sox like to give Central teams hope.
  2. Nice play by Buxton. I think Beni has proven himself to be a productive big leaguer. Surprised some of the trade fanatics on here aren't talking more about trading Beni. He's really a good leadoff hitter, folks. He could play for anybody. I'm convinced.
  3. Nobody wants to watch that wretched team play apparently. When they gonna get good again? That was fun when they won 3 titles in 6 years.
  4. I'm thinking as the season progresses our "starters" are gonna go 3 innings max. If ever a team screamed for "openers" it's the 2025 White Sox.
  5. Lip has class and the ability to look at the bottom line. He knows the team reeks. Some of us get excited when it looks like the team might be better than last year. In reality we should be Lip-like and realize when all is done the team will have about 45-60 wins.
  6. All of a sudden the bullpen is great and Vaughn is raking. 3 HRs now for Vaughn.
  7. I forget how I found out about it. I would like to thank the founders for a place to discuss my lifelong team, the Sox. I will say on a personal note, I think I got suspended twice for short periods and one long six month period which took up the whole winter. I haven't been disciplined in a long while. I'm glad I never got a permanent boot for my tendency to repeat myself and ostensibly ruin threads. My favorite moment as a fan: Wrapping up the sweep in 05. Favorite manager: Ozzie. Fave player: Gary Peters, Big Hurt tie. Best Sox player in my tenure as a fan: Buehrle. Most obscure favorite player: Claudell Washington. Kidding, it'd probably be Bill Nahorodny cause of the way Harry freaked out at how much he liked his name. My favorite posters: Caulfield and Fathom. Tex and the Brother Rice guys would be next.
  8. Fans that get all excited about unknown players and rebuilding are also content it seems to me. I'm old school. How long have the Bulls been rebuilding by the way? Rebuilds can last oh 15-20 years.
  9. That road record is kinda funny. Maybe that'll be this year's joke of a stat. Maybe we'll go 0-15 or something on the road to start out.
  10. Man that last at bat for the walk off single was clobbered. I guess the Sox did OK today, kept it close, battled back and all that sort of stuff.
  11. When I say something like this it doesn't go over well on the board. Many feel I don't understand modern baseball and what it takes to build a winner.
  12. Man, I didn't know many futility records were still available after last year. You know you can make the playoffs if you go .500 on the road. So some playoff caliber teams go .500. When you win on the average say 2 of every 10 road games, yikes, puts the pressure on your performance at home if u wanna win 60 games.
  13. Wow maybe we have the Red Sox number and will sweep or win 2 of 3.
  14. I wish the news outlets would put an intern in charge of doing a headcount at games. Seriously were there more than 800 fans actually there today?
  15. When a team is not even trying to win, when it is affecting the playoffs because of certain teams getting to beat up the Sox more times than others, it's unfair and I would welcome the team getting contracted then bringing a new team to the south side. The Sox single-handedly were responsible for the Royals making the playoffs last year. Surprised no one is agreeing with me. I want Rate Field occupied, just not with Jerry's minor league team that plays a major league schedule.
  16. No worse than the garbage product on the field the past many months/years. It's disgraceful how many opponents' seasons the Sox turn around after getting swept by them. Add the A's to the list.
  17. Would there be an uproar in Chicago if the Sox moved? Seriously. Would anybody actually care in 2025 if the Sox said they were playing the rest of the season in Vegas with plans to relocate to Nashville?
  18. Veeck at least tried to sell seats and bring in at least one intriguing name: He brought in Zisk, Blumberg, who else, a batch of guys. And the low paid stiffs he brought in were way better than the current throw ins.
  19. I don't care but I like amusing stats that embarrass our owner.
  20. I had a question: Is our pitching on the whole way worse this season? The first handful of games it looked like we might have a surprise excellent pitching staff. Same question about the everyday lineup. Is it worse or does the improved defense make the everyday lineup better than last year? So I won't be accused of only asking, I'd say our pitching staff may actually be a lot worse and the everyday lineup a little better with Sosa and Meidroth. If Beni and Vaughn start hitting that's four good hitters.
  21. Very true. But no dummy, he knew he was walking into 100 losses minimum. So it's on him. His wallet is probably happy. Certainly he's making more than he did as a mere coach.
  22. They lost me. Used to never miss a game. This season and last no mlb.com and I wouldn't watch an inning if you sent me a free yearly subscription to do so.
  23. I wonder how many people really were there. Seriously, was there more than 1,000?
  24. Is Sosa emerging? He's up to .280 in old man's stats. Give the A's credit. They did what the Central Division teams did vs. the Sox last year. Feast on them and help turn their seasons around.
  25. Tiny crowd. Saw it on twitter; highlight of Baldwin homer. This 12th round pick might be a keeper. Baldwin baby. To go with Meidroth.
