  1. Now Tony can't give Jose a day off tomorrow cause it might look like he's benching him for not running on the ball to the screen. Unwritten rules. Do not show up your star players.
  2. He's an amazing third baseman on defense, though.
  3. Seems like it'd be mighty easy to get him out "right now." Whoa nelly he was set up for the slop and feebly waved at a pair of strike threes his last two at bats. If I'm a pitcher he gets no fastballs in the zone ... ever.
  4. I know some people who really have had their energy zapped by COVID.
  5. It's hard to be critical of the Sox cause of their full body of work, so I'll resist any temptation, surf a bit then go to bed.
  6. This is why I always complain about prices. Can you imagine if you were a normal person who saved some money to bring your 2 nephews to the game? You spend for great seats on a Wednesday night, parking, food, food, food, soft drinks, beer for you, souvenirs ... and it turns out you picked one of these rotten, horrific games. Sad if this is the game you budgeted for. Sleepwalking. p.s. If Sox rally to win, my mistake. It'd be an epic game to be at if they recover and win.
  7. So hard to hit slow junk. I'm surprised pitchers ever throw a fastball in the zone. Why would you ever throw Eloy or Abreu a hittable fastball?
  8. But I hate losing to Royals and Cubs.
  9. Good win. No need to lose any more games to these bums.
  10. Love you Seby. 3 bombs in one game. This is what makes baseball great. We talk about all of baseball's problems and rightly so. But to have Zavala hit his first three home runs in MLB in the same game? Priceless. Every Sox fan in America should buy Seby a beer.
  11. And if you gamble in Vegas, table game minimums are up. Bring a stack of bills for your initial stake especially in craps. Downtown may have some lower minimums.
  12. Since we are being critical today, why is it Sheets no longer is consistently pounding the fastball for hits when he did it early on? Do hitters start to worry about the curve/slider thus it affects their ability to rake? Man this game is humbling.
  13. He's so good with the glove. A true vaccuum.
  14. We need to give credit when it's due. He was great.
  15. Good place to stay is Mandalay Bay which has a beach vibe pool, sand and a wave area. The Pool has a lazy river and it's on the far south end of the Strip so you are kind of alone out there. Still yet it's just a 10 minute walk to a batch of casinos like MGM, NYNY, whatever the old Monte Carlo is called now, Excalibur, Luxor. Probably a 20-minute walk to Planet Hollywood and Ballys and Paris and 30 minutes to Bellagio and Caesars and Harrahs and Mirage and Treasure Island and Wynn and Venetian. I don't know if there are any "deals" in Vegas per se. anymore. Hotels charge resort fees to jack up the price. Ripoff. Cabs and ubers are expensive now and casinos charge for parking if u are not staying there. Just check vegas.com for hotel prices or any of the other hotel sites. If you go during the week you may find something reasonable. If you don't want Mandalay and its great pool and wide open spaces out south strip, I'd recommend Caesars or Wynn. Wedding suites obviously will be big bucks at the nicer hotels like those. There's a big area by Harrah's that has many fast food options including a Chicago pizza place and In N Out Burger. Expensive steakhouse at Circus Circus believe it or not that is supposed to be great steak. Pieros for Italian dinner for two down by the Convention Center. If you want budget sitdown dinner go behind Ballys to Ellis Island and get the steak dinner with salad, potato and large beer for 10 bucks. It's still not on the menu. You ask for it. Buffets in Vegas are 80 bucksish now; I won''t pay that out of principle. Yeah it may have crab or ribs or some such but it's still just a buffet. Downtown Fremont Street has live music now for free and Circa downtown has a great sportsbook and food options in there. If you are going low low budget, stay downtown and get a suite at the El Cortez. Sounds sickening but it's remodeled and acceptable. Sites: I hear the mob museum downtown is good; Hoover Dam is an OK tour; a short drive to Henderson and Green Valley Ranch casino is nice with good food. Also LV has minor league baseball dis time of year. For nirvana, however, stay at Mandalay or Caesars or Wynn. Be careful, too, Vegas is changing like most big cities. You will get pickpocketed and it's not out of the question your room could have valuables swiped. Use the safe. Times are changing regarding safety of cities and you don't want to be in the wrong place at the wrong time in LV. I'd take ubers after midnight for sure.
  16. Too bad he hasn't improved his defense in his career. He's had some nice moments as a Sox.
  17. I would like to tip my cap to Goodwin and Jose. Jose keeps getting hit up around the head and it's sickening to see. Thanks to him for hanging in there. Goodwin is kind of a stud. He quietly contributes though today's blast was loud. I love me some Goodwin. There's a place for that guy in the big leagues, folks. Sox have received contributions from a lot of players off and on this season.
  18. Despite the recent 3-7 stretch vs. Central Division, I give him an A. Not an A plus or A minus but an A. I think he's very smart baseball mind and if anybody can get this team to snare a WS title THIS SEASON it's him. I would give our trainer a D whether if it's deserved or not. It might just be bad luck, but team has had an awful lot of injuries and our team may never be able to keep Eloy healthy. This team's record is amazing considering all the injuries. I do hope Tony does not manage weirdly in the playoffs, like only let the starters go 2-3 innings. Stay old school, Tony baby.
  19. Enjoy the ride. Lot of ball to be played.
  20. I bet Sheets gets a day off tomorrow.
  21. Those are good seats. Wish I was in Chicago.
  22. This is the singular best post of the night for those who are p'ed off at the loss. Says it all. Now who has the best positive post of the night?
  23. And it was so close to being a memorable win.
  24. Too bad Gavin couldn't elevate and tie the game at 12. Oh well, Sox aren't playing particularly good baseball of late. I realize team still is banged up. Classifies as bad loss cause the starter was handed a nice lead.
