COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
Are we allowed to discuss the lab leak theory on the board? There was a time you couldn't bring it up in public without being labeled a lunatic or somebody who must be canceled. Cmon folks ... guess who are our rivals (nice word) or enemies (mean word)? China and Russia. Do I think there was a lab leak? No comment.

I lost mine as I lose things. But I took pictures of my card after both the first and second doses were given.

I like your post but disagree fully about your last sentence. Are you serious? A good portion of the non vaxxers think of Fauci as an egotistical mad scientist with very very greedy intention$ that involve ego and $$. Don't shoot the messenger. But this is so the way I see it and the people I talk to and deal with.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
That's a good post and worthy of deep contemplation. As a person who has done my part and been vaxxed do I feel ill will toward those who won't get vaxxed? You know at times I do and at times I feel like they may be the smart ones who simply do not want to be human guinea pigs toward the vax and are upset at many many things about the way this whole pandemic has been handled. U know, those folks don't trust Fauci and don't trust politicians and the way things have gone I kind of can't blame them. At the same time this is a guy (me) who made the decision to help my fellow brothers and sisters and trust those who want me vaxxed as having my best interest at heart.

Is it time to give TLR his due? And maybe some apologies?
I'm not saying Tony is the reason Sox are rocking and rolling. I'm saying he deserves an A for performance at the ASB. Yes I tip my cap to Hahn as well. Remember I was totally against the rebuild pointing out I felt Sox might be able to win a division then catch lightning in the playoffs as they did in 05 and win a title under Hahn the old fashioned way. For this season I give Mr. Hahn an A at the ASB and tip my cap to him.

Say what you want about the stubborn folks who won't get vaxxed. As somebody with a feel for the hesitant, I think Dr. Fauci needs to realize half the population just doesn't trust him. That's on him. (I realize I'm in the minority here so let me add that this is just my opinion; I know most people willing to speak about the vaccine approve of Fauci and/or even love the guy. https://www.yahoo.com/news/fauci-says-horrifying-see-cpac-144239590.html p.s. I can assure you I've received both doses of moderna.

I was right about Leury.

Gavin Sheets - STUD
This is a good set of posts for my mental health. It proves to me I don't hold grudges and live in the past. I remember despising Rios and blasting him on here but I truly can't remember what made me so mad. I'm speculating his stats that first year angered me and maybe I caught him loafing or something. I know his stats were blah to lousy in Chicago but I especially despised him.

Didn't Alex stink in 2009 when the Sox acquired him to win the division late? I must admit I can't remember too much about my hatred of Rios. I really don't remember that much.

Sheets is in some sort of a 1-for-20ish tailspin isn't he? His average is dipping.

Rodon, Lynn, Hendriks, Anderson all stars
Another reason baseball is dying. Tim Anderson is an all star. Period. Should be in the game. Baseball needs stars. I can see why Abreu is not considered despite his RBIs, he's not passed the "all star eye test" this year. But Timmy is an all star. Sickens me he's not in the game.

So with all your points, at least admit no managers have an effect on a team unless they are buffoons like Bevington. Who would be a better manager than LaRussa in your mind? You know ... the great Joe Maddon was a god (small g) with the Cubs, then a buffoon with the same team. Tony LaRussa is not a buffoon. He is excellent and as good as any manager out there to be in charge of this team. I can accept your fact Tony has little to nothing to do with the success of the team, but if I accept that u must accept that NO MANAGER has anything this year to do with the success of his team. No manager. If they are not buffoons like Bevington, they are all about the same. I'd give Tony an A for his performance this season. What would you give him? C? D? F even?

Good. I really don't want any part of the disease and so far I've obeyed all suggestions, etc. I don't wanna play with Covid.

I said in the eyes of fans. They despised Ozzie. I was despised, maybe even suspended here for the first time for my passionate defense of his leaving the Sox for Miami. The universal perception here that I didn't buy was he "quit on the team." Fans despised him. . I LOVED Ozzie and got fried for defending him by posters on here.

There are no good managers in the eyes of fans, period. They all screw up all the time ... when their team loses. Tony has done a marvelous job and yes I'm still upset at him over the DUI stuff. Right now he deserves an A plus for all the obvious reasons I won't repeat. Who would you rather have than LaRussa? Nobody is better.

Wow. So I have received both doses of vax, got fully vaxxed long ago,. The mask mandate here is pretty much gone (for now, I figure it's coming back with all the virus talk returning lately) so I haven't been wearing the mask the last five days I'd say. Am I gonna get COVID or am I OK? I've gotten vaxxed for gosh sakes.

The Grandal will come out tomorrow, you can bet your bottom dollar
This obviously is not a good injury for a catcher. I'll just betcha he isn't back this season. Remember this post as the months go by, please. ... It's sink or swim for Collins. I wish him well. I've liked Collins from the start, but I'm not positive he's a big leaguer. Hope so.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
It's results that matter and Sox pretty much are a strong team now despite a zillion injuries. Tony definitely knows what he's doing. Credit to the players, too.

Not trying to stir it up, but this is what happens when you have a real manager. The team on paper with the best team wins ... despite a ton of injuries. If Sox run away with this it may be LaRussa's best coaching job on his resume in his career. Eight games up with so many injuries. This isn't Robin or Renteria, folks. As far as today's win ... nice to see Leury and Burger get multi hits and Timmy with the big game. Good pitching. I won't take for granted nice wins on the road. (Abreu and Sheets with the 0-fers. Is Sheets having trouble? Didn't watch today.)
