Sox sign Brandon Drury and Tristan Gray
Wow with 26 HR pop he's automatically our best HR guy. He will start at 3B baby.

Yoan Moncada signs with Angels
Who is penciled in as the Sox 3B and SS this season. Has to be a worse combo than even last year. It's scary that on paper we should lose every series we play this season. The Sox are a bunch of no names. I'd like someone on this board to write me 6-12 paragraphs on a best case scenario for our team for THIS season. It's hard for me to predict even fewer wins than 2024 but to me this is a far worse club than 2024. .... To me, I've never seen a weaker bunch of stiffs on the infield and catcher (hitting wise) and there has never been a no name pitching staff in Sox history like this one. I will say the outfield is OK with Beni and Robert. I'm actually surprised Beni is still with this club. He'd be perfect back on the Royals.

Rubenstein of O's pushes for salary cap
Baseball's union will never agree to a salary cap. Case closed. They'd rather strike and miss a season or two than agree to that.

Sox offering all Mar/Apr/May games for $125
That's actually a good deal. Of course you have to be OK sitting in miserable seats as far as location. 27 games for 100 bucks and change. Sox finally wise up. They'll still get your parking dollars and the delicious food and beer in the park. Surprised the Sox did this. Usually even if attendance is horrific teams don't usually want to give away tickets. ... On a side note, is it worth it to the Sox to sit folks in the upper deck when their average attendance will probably be about 15,000 except for the big name opponents? You'd think they would not want to pay the hourly workers who have to clean up the upper deck after games.

Yoan Moncada signs with Angels
Who would have thought that for the 2025 season the Sox coulda had a SS in Anderson and 3B in Moncada for pennies. Arguably even with both having a lot to prove, they'd be a better SS/3B combo for the Sox this season than the stiffs at 3B and SS they'll be playing on Opening Day.

Official NBA 25-26 Thread
I'd actually rather pay to see a Sox game than a Bulls game right now. As an out of stater who is a playoff only fan (as a kid I was a real fan of B-Hawks and Bulls) I have zero interest in watching any part of a current Bulls game. Exceedingly dull. Why is Billy Donovan still there. He could get a job with a real NBA or college team.

Maybe Doncic is really 30 instead of 25. Seems like an unusual deal. Mostly kidding but ????

2025-2026 NHL Threadard
As a playoff only fan, how far away are the Hawks from contention? What's been the main problem since the three titles in six years dynasty? Was coach Q that important? Why do we stink still? When do Hawks return to dominance?

Official NBA 25-26 Thread
So is the Doncic-Davis trade as one-sided as everybody's saying? Is it an attempt by Silver to make the Lakers good forever? There's a lot of yapping on X about how the NBA ratings are terrible and Whitlock says the WNBA soon will pass the NBA in fan interest. Or is Davis good enough to help Dallas win it all? All the chatter I've heard/read suggests the Lakers have pulled off the steal of the century.

Can you imagine being a Sox sales person calling potential customers about season tickets? I'd imagine the recipients of the calls are rather direct/mean to the sales people. I'd be like, "Are you serious? Season tickets?" I assume their selling point is getting to see the other teams' players while getting to know future Sox stars as they are called up to the bigs. Can you imagine paying to see this pitching staff in action? This bullpen? And finally this lineup? WOW. The Sox should offer something in addition to baseball. Maybe the price of a ticket allows you to take batting practice.

Biggest villains in sports today…Dodgers, Chiefs, etc.
It's like the Chiefs are in their own league. Nobody can touch them. Mahomes is that much better than anybody else. Chiefs defense is good enough and they will pound the Eagles for No. 3 in a row. Next year? Who's going to beat Mahomes. If he can stay healthy, KC will be right there. Kelce isn't finished yet either. He did it right this year. Fair regular season and now he's turned big-time elite in the postseason. Mahomes is too good and Philly knows it. Philly fans have to be sick about playing Andy Reid's team again. ... And this thing about the refs favoring KC is stupid. Refs may be bad, sure, but they aren't making sure KC wins.

McDaniel/ESPN rank Sox system #2 behind LAD
So this means pennants are in our future? Dominance of division soon?

MLB revenues up to $12.1 billion
where did u sit? boxes? Were there about 1000 fans there total?

MLB revenues up to $12.1 billion
This is one of those years people who hate crowds could just go watch a MLB game at GRate and probably have a good time, that is, if the ushers aren't dictators. Like if the section next to you is almost empty and yours for some reason is packed and you wanna spread out. Also breeze in and out for parking compared to years when the team is actually decent.

MLB revenues up to $12.1 billion
i killed my post; didn't think the peeps would like me hijacking a thread with comments about wnba and its future. as far as attendance you'd think the Sox season ticket sales might be low. peace.

MLB revenues up to $12.1 billion
I guess the public will never stop spending whatever sports teams want to charge. I'm sure it chaps the baseball owners that the secondary market can get 6,000 a ticket for a World Series game when they charge whatever they charge. Not 6000 bucks.

MLB revenues up to $12.1 billion
I still can't understand all the money in sports teams when ticket prices are so high. I know it's TV money but all you hear about are TV cutbacks, ESPN, CNN, etc. I'll never understand. I guess most teams draw well and attendance helps but I'm told time and again by fans on here attendance doesn't matter. It's TV money.

Robert projected to have 25/25 season
My bad. Why did we keep him?
-
Robert projected to have 25/25 season
Interesting the Sox kept Robert. Somebody decided we better have one player people might pay to see. Not for attendance mind you, just to make sure the team had one good player. If Robert was/is traded the Sox have not one player you would pay to see. That's kind of scary. You wouldn't pay to see any of those pitchers. You certainly don't pay to see Vaughn and the everyday lineup guys.

Getz: "We are... building from the ground, up"
Yeah but those players all reek. When the Sox acquired them I was thinking they needed some warm bodies just to be able to field a team at all. Not one of those players you mentioned is any good but they were big league warm bodies.

Soxfest back for 2025
South siders stand up? Ha. They won't stand up to support this joke of an organization. Will they come back when we get good again? Yeah, it's the nature of the fan beast but it'll never be the same with the diehards. I'm sure if we could do a thorough examination of greg's fanhood on here I bet the tone of my posts have changed so much since the years we tried and actually had a pulse in the division race.

Soxfest back for 2025
That's awesome you will support the team no matter the quality of the product. Many of us could handle a down year or two, but this current thing going on is appalling. You'd think after the embarrassment of last season the Sox would try to improve the team. Instead there is no reason to believe the team has improved at all from last year. If you are willing to pay exorbitant prices for tickets (I assume you want a good seat, not some bad seat) again good for you. I don't see how a franchise has fooled some fans in thinking a second rebuild job is a good thing. The stars of the first rebuild were all stiffs, ala Moncada and Timmy and Eloy lol.
