  1. Yes sir! I despise the rebuild.
  2. Moustakas plus Grandal and Nelson Cruz on my wish list (no Alonso, no Jon Jay) Then ... Keuchel, Corbin, JA Happ (obviously not all, but some). And on the cheap Gio and Wainwright.
  3. You don't mess with Chicago's finest. They want to interview Jussie Smollett again I pity Jussie if he indeed made up/set up the attack he alleges. Chicago police have by all accounts that I've read done a fantastic job absorbing the details of the alleged attack and they want to question Jussie about perhaps fabricating the whole thing or hiring the brothers to assault him. Just the fact the Chicago police were able to locate the two brothers so quickly (and find out about the brothers) ... nice work! Say what you want about Chicago police ... I think they are badboys (in a good way) and I applaud them. And I would never want to run afoul of them. Chicago cops, who else thinks they deserve a toast??
  4. Starting pitching.
  5. I don't think it'd be that big a gut punch. It is sad it's taking this long because I am of the opinion we coulda tried to win the pathetic Central Division if we added some key pieces through free agency. Eloy is going to be THAT good and Moncada is ready to break out. Timmy should have his best year ever and starting busting through to stardom IMO. I'm not a penny pincher but Machado has enough red flags I think it won't be a 'disaster' if we don't sign him. Maybe he'll be worth the cash and the years of cash going to him, but I think he'll be quickly forgotten if we don't get him. As far as cleaning out the front office if we don't get Manny and/or Harper or both ... I think a more egregious sin woulda been not immediately being able to contend after signing Manny. You have Manny and Eloy and Abreu and Moncada and Anderson, cmon, get some pitching and win the fricking division NOW and years to come. That's the only fireable offense. My odds: Sox 50 percent to get Manny. Yankees 45 percent. Others: 5 percent. Gut feeling.

New Yorkers are outraged. There were going to be jobs galore, high paying jobs and other jobs jobs jobs. The neighborhood business owners are crushed; the real estate people are crushed. You give a big company tax breaks because of all the jobs created and ensuing money dumped in the neighborhoods. It's pretty simple. Socialists like AOC don't want to play hardball with companies. A lot of people are upset in New York as they continue to seek work. This would have helped the economy big time. Read this take. AOC has some explainin' to do. https://nypost.com/2019/02/14/smug-politicians-scammed-nyc-out-of-amazons-hq2-and-ruined-it-for-everyone/
  7. Sure. I value Chili. I appreciate Chili.
  8. Chili u are a wise man IMO. You are Dr. Phil personified. I like your commentary.
  9. That would really be bad. I mean, cmon pick a team and start counting your money ... and counting your base hits.
  10. What happened at your Wednesday meeting? The key is how YOU feel about having a child. She made it clear that she doesn't want you involved at all. If you can live with that, and letting your child be raised by others, it seems cut and dried. Someday perhaps the child will want to meet you and you can decide if you want that. In the interim, if you don't really want to help raise your child (or would be OK with mom and her family raising the child without you), it seems cut and dried. I'm glad you are seeing a lawyer because at some point mom might want you to foot half the bill. As we all know, it's expensive to raise a human being (food, clothing, shelter, medical). Best wishes. Glad u are seeing an attorney and talking to badger. Only you can decide how you will handle this. Nobody can tell you what to do. BTW, will you tell your mom, dad, brothers, sisters, friends bout this?
  11. I think it's pretty obvious we are getting Machado. I've always felt that way. I sure hope he arrives before the end of next week though. It'd be dumb for him to sit out any more of ST than that.
  12. I was going to say, Ace, I agree, you are probably going to need a lawyer. You really are. I wish you well and know you will make the right choices. Feel free to PM me if you seek any opinions of mine.
  13. Eloy is going to be so good he's going to make even the most stodgy "rebuilding guy" want to see us win now and not waste a moment of the Eloy era. We're going to have a few special players in the lineup immediately IMO: Eloy, Moncada, Timmy, Manny, Abreu. Damn I wish my pal Avi baby was around to share in this. Eloy truly passes the "eye test" folks and the "I test" - I wanna see him excel!
  14. Hundley, Vogt, Duda ... I want none of those guys near the White Sox roster. Let's sign difference makers.
  15. If Greg attended would somebody buy me a corned beef or direct me to the corned beef stand?

Nice posts. Glad to hear it! Millennials forever! There's nothing wrong with people who "don't accept company lines as easily" and "having an opinion on something." I was getting on a plane today listening to some guy in line talking about work (sales) and I wondered about how an old guy like that could work with young people if the stereotypes about Millennials were true. Glad to hear Millennials are definitely OK. Thank u.
  17. I always wondered how those policies work in reality. Wouldn't having to pay 200-300 million dollars break any company? Certainly it's a huge chunk of change for any company I'd think. How much do teams pay into these policies to get that kind of massive protection. Just always wondered about that.
  18. I like that much better than buttercup.
  19. I won't post any more on this topic but I'm offended by being called "buttercup."
  20. Then why did somebody make a post or ten about Fulmer being a bust on here? It's not me bringing it up. It's me responding in anger. Tell the person who brought up Fulmer. Show me the thread about the lousy draft picks cause I'm ready to tee off on KW for five of the last seven No. 1 picks.
  21. This is why I HATE talking about the draft and despise tanking/rebuilding. Fulmer was No. 8 overall pick and we're talking about zero value. Will we be saying the same about Madrigal? Burger? Geez I despise modern baseball. Could those of you who love the rebuild and draft comment? Thank you. Please don't tell me, "would you prefer the other way? Mediocrity?" Uh ... yes I would, cause if you have a fricking mediocre team you can then SIGN FREE AGENTS and then add bullpen pieces and then add a good bat or two. It's not my fault this inept front office thought guys like LaRoche, Dunn (until his last year) and some of those other free agents blew chunks! How bout sign the right free agents and evaluate talent correctly to add to a mediocre to B- base?!!! Say what you want about me and my lousy knowledge of analytics... we're discussing Fulmer possibly having zero value which is unacceptable to me and should be unacceptable to those of you who worship the DRAFT.

That is one bad season. I know you don't want to hear it from me, but this is not healthy to keep piling up miserable records like this. Lot of pressure on a handful of young guys to turn this around in coming years unless we hit the jackpot the next week or so with free agency.
  23. Baseball should play a few day/night doubleheaders to help cut a week off the schedule and still get the revenue. I've been thinking about this more and more: I betcha after this season baseball outlaws the shift. I think they'll have a designated amount of feet allowed between traditional areas of fielders. The shift is really really killing baseball. It's ugly to watch and it's very very annoying when it works. It brings out anger/angst in fans who for the life of them are incensed players are unwilling to hit or bunt the ball during the areas of the shift where it'd be impossible for the defense to record an out. It makes you think the ballplayer is soooo selfish in trying to pull a home run, instead hit a smash to the rightfielder who easily throws him out. The shift must go and I think it will.
  24. Soria did OK as a Sox. My feeling is he got fixed by Coop. I really hope we can flip Jay as soon as possible. Nobody took me up on my question when I asked folks to name one thing he does well. I won't rip him any more, but his stats scream that he's not a productive player. I'd rather have Engel.
