  1. Good for him. The crazy thing is nobody asks the questions about the non sequitir. The team is doing what it's supposed to do, lose. I guess "lose with dignity" is what would be ideal.
  2. Look at it this way. In the real world, rebuilds at work could not happen. Cause the guy who tanked the business for 4-5 years would be long gone by the time the business succeeded/dominated again. You rebuild lovers don't realize it doesn't have to be this severe. You can still rebuild and win a division as weak as the Central. You just have to spend a few bucks. I cannot believe this complete teardown thing happened to be the new way to go in sports.
  3. Not necessarily. This lineup is one of the worst in Sox history. The pitching staff ditto. The Sox actually played .500 ball for what, 2.5 weeks or something? That will be remembered as the one good stretch this season. This team is abysmal and no manager could win more games than RR has. That said, the fact RR utilizes the bunt means he should not be our manager. Our team is NEW WAVE with the rebuild; our team is heavily into statnik-dom. For the GM to allow bunting, when ALL studies indicate ALL BUNTS are insane, means something is wrong. In the interview process they should have told Rick, no bunting EVER. It's a nonsequitir that he is manager.
  4. You asked and I could answer but I won't. But I would like to point out, I could have answered and not been out of line (peeps on here think I repeat myself too much but in reality a lot of peeps do the same)
  5. Old school Greg says IF we were to acquire Machado (we aren't for many reasons; Harper is a lol; no chance) that would be even more reason to keep Abreu. Wow, what a 3B, 1B power combo! To go with Moncada and Tim A who obviously have vast potential of excellence. Seriously ... if Machado is a certainty to join the Sox, which he most certainly isn't, that's more reason to keep Abreu. You'd have something brewing at 1B and 3B for gawd sakes. Trading Abreu whilst acquiring Machado makes zero sense, folks.
  6. It's not said enough. You, elrockin are the best fan of any team in sports history. ... Name a better one if you disagree. I have no idea how you do it. Somebody should honor you at Sox Park. El Rockin bobblehead day. p.s. I'd try to be more like you, but I always go back to the $$$. A lot of people are making money and I'm out for the fan who I feel gets ripped off at sporting events, thus I want the team to at least be good if the fan is gonna spend that kind of jack.
  7. Man, maybe fake news does exist. I don't know who to believe.
  8. Have you been reading the Abreu threads? Fans salivating over some more unknown names to acquire for him? I'm just pointing out the absurdity of it all.
  9. Jones is just another guy because of injuries. I don't even feel sorry for Nate since he never adjusted his ridiculous pitching delivery. PTATC please study his windup and release point and tell me he's not a disaster injury wise. I'll buy you a 12 pack someday for your help on this matter!
  10. 2023 is fine with our fans' new mantra "Wait til next year." Rebuilding is gloriously fun for many.
  11. Glad to see the Sox get what they deserve in terms of embarrassing publicity. This rotation is against the spirit of baseball. It's designed to get us a top draft pick. Wish the commish would fine the Sox until it hurts for tanking.
  12. Sox are single-handedly turning Cleveland into a runaway division winner again. Oh wait, Sox also woke up Detroit and assured the Tigers they are contenders. Man this Sox team reeks. Seven to eight wins a month is no way to run an organization.
  13. I was driving to Topeka and listened to Limbaugh today for the first time in a while. I listed to a couple segments in between listening to Sirius' Beatles Channel and Christian music radio so don't act like I am Limbaugh-nik or addict. He blamed the Demos and media for this mess saying Trump had nothing to do with the separation of kids from their parents. He said it was the law and Congress had to change the law. He said he is sick at the left's doing all they can day after day to blame Trump for everything. Is this all true? They also played an interview of Baldwin with a border patrol guy who said they have been taking care of 12 year old kids who have been sent to the USA alone despite the fact parents of these kids know the kids will be assaulted sexually. It was pretty riveting, sad, sick stuff.
  14. Neither are good, but Tilson is not out of baseball yet. Engel is as bad as Trayce; both will fill 2/3s of an independent league OF soon. No offense to them. They may be great guys but Trayce and Engel are done and Tilson is on life support so to speak, but not done yet.
  15. We are a 48, 49 win team IMO. You wait. That's our win total this season. I stand by that but NO WAY are we winning more than 53 games. And we won't win that many.
  16. Girardi will be our manager next season (provided he has no ghosts; I know nothing about his personal life, etc.)
  17. I'm on the record saying if we DONT get a top end or 2 player for Abreu that Hahn should be fired on the spot. He's as proven a player as you can acquire and he has 5-6 good to great years left. My gawd. Devalue your own some more.
  18. Man you guys devalue Abreu. Have you looked at his career stats? The guy is an all star and more than that a good clubhouse guy, too. He's a fricking stud. He will bring a ton back. For the record, greg DOES NOT want to trade him, I've just accepted that he gawn.
  19. There are a lot of guys who probably don't realize it, but are close to being done in MLB forever who play for the Sox. Engel, Thompson, Omar for starters. There are more.
  20. Only if chisox fan does it first. He said in his post he's said it "time and again" as well.
  21. Should be interesting but it's pretty obvious Hahn thinks Abreu is too old for the window. Case closed. He gawn. Relax, it's just greg's opinion. I'm not saying I'm always right. But I really feel this is WAY too obvious. We need some more pitching and we still need a catcher and maybe a shortstop. Let's assume they got it right on our future outfield and we have plenty of DHs. We can move Davidson to first to be the new Paulie.
  22. Royals fans are in nirvana today, lol. They acquired three guys nobody's ever heard of (the future unknowns) for their closer. They now are embracing the suck as Sox fans have done. They are comparing it to when they got Cain and Escobar. Ah, how great a job it is to be a GM nowadays. Losing is beloved!
  23. Exactly. It's the reason a rebuild frustrates some traditional baseball fans. Time means nothing. It's wait til next year year after year if you have to. As long as you are in "rebuild mode" GMs are heroes and nobody has to produce for people to be happy. Soxfest will be just as happy this winter as it was last winter. Cause we are in rebuild mode and results mean nothing. Eventually so many prospects will be on the MLB team that everybody will be so happy tracking their advanced stats. Maybe the team eventually will start winning but for now Sox fans are the old Cub fans, "Wait til next year" is such a happy mantra for many fans. Hopefully in this dream world the Sox will win 2-4 WS titles and remain great for years after that as they keep their players. All skeptical fans like me can do is wait and hope for the best because I don't follow minor league baseball and don't really care about development. I prefer the big league product.
  24. Could we impeach Trump for his treatment of those innocent kids? If we all staged nationwide sit ins or something could we force him to resign? Talk of him winning the Nobel Peace Prize should be tossed into the dumpster. Save those babies!
  25. Avi

I wonder if Trayce can take up another sport or if it's too late. ... Independent League here he comes?
