  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 03:46 AM) And like it or not, this is the path the org has decided on so you might as well embrace it Surely you won't root for losses vs the Cubs.
  2. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 03:43 AM) Don't need to keep arguing this every other day. We know your stance. Let people watch and rationalize losses how they want. I just wonder why I can't belabor the point and have to endure sentences like he wrote that offer nothing but saying how happy he is we are losing. Seems unfair I can't respond in anger. QUOTE (mataipaepae @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 03:44 AM) You are really struggling with this whole idea of rebuilding. Boy you must be a peach to be around, so oblivious. I'm like El Rockin a big Sox fan who despises losing especially against these prick teams from our own division. Twinks and Royals bother me but I hate the Indians as well.
  3. Guys that hit into the shift like that last Twin should be ashamed of themselves. If you were playing Little League, Babe Ruth, American Legion, college, and the other team had that kind of shift on you, you'd be coached to uh, move your body and beat the shift. Why does the baseball code allow hitters to not adjust and simply hit right into the shift? It's very interesting to me. If there's a guy playing right over second base you just can't hit it there. You should be fined by the manager or the team owner. This time it was a Twin making the dumb at bat, so that pleases me, but the shift is my pet peeve.
  4. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 01:15 AM) good loss so far shouldn't this be considered trolling? I could go into an angry diatribe at this but I'd be the one banned.
  5. The Democrats are going to have to get humble after losing four special elections. The media being in the Democrats' corner and the pollsters being in the Democrats' corner is not helping. They keep thinking they are leading races and when the votes are tabulated they lose. Trump may be a chump, but people certainly aren't buying what the Democrats are selling right now. Loss after loss at the polls. Need a little humble pie and not the pollsters saying all is well in Democrat-ville.
  6. QUOTE (ypres @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 04:50 AM) Are Sanchez and Leury for real? Or is this just luck? Utility players.
  7. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 04:04 AM) luckily, they play again tmr. I know it's hard to take a 3-4 year view, but try. These close losses will be wins if these guys keep developing and they can find a few pitchers. Sox have usually found pitching. What guys? Who on this team is meant to be on a future winning Sox team? Frazier, no; Anderson, yes; second base utility man; Abreu, yes. Catcher, no. Melky, no. CF, no. Avi, maybe. Catcher no. And none of our pitchers are gonna be around for the rebuild so WTF? This is just a throwaway season for some mysterious baseball draft pick who could either be good or totally suck. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 04:10 AM) Losing this game sucks. We had our chances Lost the game once we cut it to one. Played horribly the final few innings down one.
  8. Pathetic. Looked like the last place team we are in that game. Bad pitching. Bad defense. Horrific hitting in the clutch when it mattered. And bad managing with the bunt that one inning when we were only down one.
  9. QUOTE (BamaDoc @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 04:34 AM) Serious question, after Melky gone would Avi at least be average in left due to decent arm? I say no.
  10. That's what happens when you blow a ton of opportunities to tie it. Home team finally puts you away. One win this series would be all one could hope for against the Piranhas.
  11. Avi with the yips in right field. Looking like a Little Leaguer. Oh well. Baseball is a cruel game. You can look great then look like the biggest bumbling player in the world. Poor Avi. Will this performance turn him back into the old Avi in right?
  12. Not trying to start any arguments so ignore this if it angers you, but my gawd how can anybody want us to lose to these f***ers, the Minnesota Twins. Damn the Twins and their fans PISS ME OFF. They've owned us for a long time. I despise them.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 03:20 AM) Awesome rebuild game I was talking to some big time baseball aficionados today and telling them about the fans on this website wanting us to lose and they said that's ridiculous. The consensus was TWO TEAMS in baseball history have tanked well, Cubs was one team and I think Houston maybe the other and they said EVERYTHING BROKE right for them and in general it's a RIDICULOUS idea. So I'm not the only one. These guys know their baseball folks and they said I was 100 percent right in saying tanking is a very stupid idea. And they brought up Trout, not me.
  14. MLB.com has to think of a better way to make advertising dollars than play the same commercial every f***ing half inning. I will NEVER buy the product because of some b**** singing, "I'm gonna retire early; I'm gonna save some money!" f*** you! Nice hit by Avi.
  15. Serious question: How many more bad starts before you DL Holland or DFA him? He seems finished to me.
  16. Why would you trade people think anybody would want Frazier. Poor guy's middle name should be .198 or.202. That's his ceiling.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 03:54 AM) You are always right on cue. Mauer took two cookies.
  18. greg775 replied to Kyyle23's topic in SLaM
I hate both. How can anybody eat guac or avocado?
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 01:22 AM) Holland is a flyball pitcher. He was a bad match for the Sox from the get go. With all the home games left and warm weather, his ERA will only grow. He's an independent league pitcher. Send him to an Indy team. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 01:23 AM) Good rebuild loss.Holland sucks we weren't getting much for him in the first place anyway. Acquiring him was such a ridiculous move. He's so bad. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 01:23 AM) Guess the only starter that gets traded is Pelfrey...and maybe Q. That was the nail in the coffin. Pelfrey? No fantasy owner in their right mind would want him, why would an MLB team?? QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 01:27 AM) Who the hell is trading for Pelfrey? Amen. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 01:45 AM) I like Jake Petricka You like all Sox players. I say that with admiration not disdain QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 02:19 AM) Hawk is in a good mood tonight. Much more enjoyable. He seems kind of crabby to me. At least since I've tuned in.
  20. Wow. Anderson learning how to hit? He should be close to .300 OBP after 2 walks in one game.
  21. You guys really should listen to Howard Stern on youtube. He's had some great takes on the idiocy of juries (Cosby case, this case in Minnie, OJ). He says these morons on juries just can't convict. Some guy called in Howard to say he was a holdout on a jury recently. Some woman on the jury would not convict a child molester who tried to influence the jury by dressing impeccably in a great suit and looking so professional. There was tape of the young innocent child saying what the guy did. The one juror would not convict because she didn't want to believe anybody could do that to a child. The juror (who phoned Stern) yelled at her and made the judge make her listen to the tape of the kid over and over. Everybody else wanted to give in and let the juror have her way, so they could finally go home to their families and end the annoying trial. But finally the man's efforts worked and the juror gave in to send the rat up the river. The Stern caller said the jurors had to agree to pray together for the woman to agree on a guilty verdict. Howard has some non PC takes on the idiocy of juries and presumed guilt of people like Cosby, etc. Cosby's peeps were celebrating a fricking hung jury. Howard played audio and Cosby even did his Fat Albert yell upon leaving the courtroom. Howard said the jury wouldn't convict Cosby because again he was all dressed up for trial and the idiotic jury couldn't say Cliff Huxtable was guilty, even though Cosby has admitted giving some of the women pills for gawd sakes. What a creep!!! Howard is available all over youtube on these issues. Stern rules!
  22. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 08:01 PM) A majority of people are actually independent. Yeah they feel forced to pick a side but I have voted for just as many Republicans as I have Democrats. This thread creation is good for business. Not on this board. This place is Democrat haven, not heaven. We've got some real party poopers on here. I never knew it til Trump won. They assumed Hillary had it but boy they showed their real colors once the Democrats blew their layup in the last presidential election.
  23. Minnesota always is pesky against the Sox. Piranhas Ozzie called em. Hopefully we get one this series or the downward spiral to oblivion might be back.
  24. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 07:35 PM) I have lived my entire life in the city of Chicago. I have three kids that go to private schools. I am really thinking hard about moving not only out of Chicago but the state as well. Maybe it is the same elsewhere but the city of Chicago just seems to be crushing its middle class citizens. My wife and I make a nice living but it's just a constant grind that is now really weighing us down. Taxes/fees just kept pounding us and pounding us and we reap zero benefit as the schools and parks by us suck to high heaven. The low property tax used to be something to hang your hat on but those are on the verge of being doubled over just a few year span and my water bill has gone up 500% under this new mayoral regime. Again I have three kids and uprooting them does seem hard but I am pretty certain I could get a decent job just about anywhere. Harry. How does Wisconsin stack up compared to Chicago? You could always move right over the border up north past O'Hare 50 miles? Or delightful Lake Geneva? I would never recommend Indiana or Iowa. Kansas City is a very very pretty town, very nice people. I don't know how our taxes stack up in Missouri or Kansas.
