I AM WHITE/AMERICAN PRIVILEGE
QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 7, 2017 -> 04:26 PM) call me a bleeding heart, but the "unfair situation" of taking a little from someone who has a lot, to give a little to someone who has nothing, is something I'm ok with. I understand that others aren't. But there we have the fundamental disagreement between Democrats and Republicans. Why didn't you support Bernie harder then?

OBAMA/TRUMPCARE MEGATHREAD
Wow, this is all boiling up toward revolution. If this bill passes won't there be riots immediately? The gap between 1 percenters and those about to go broke and be homeless when they have one serious hospital stay grows every day.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 7, 2017 -> 02:08 PM) https://www.yahoo.com/news/woman-chinese-fo...-175435160.html Canadian Woman Tells Workers To 'Go Back To China’.. While Ordering Chinese Food in a Toronto grocery What crap to say that at all, much less desiring the product the person you are insulting is providing you. I always think of that scene in that movie where people give the waiter s*** so they put all kinds of junk in their food to get even.

Just Sayin: 17-13 Against The Division
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 7, 2017 -> 06:58 PM) Look greg, we get it, you don't believe in the draft. You make zero points, you use the same tired examples. Just stop already I'm sick of you telling me to stop already when I'M RESPONDING TO PEOPLE'S COMMENTS! Do you think I'm just bringing it up out of nowhere? How many times are people being told to shut up who are bringing up Benetendi EVERY DAY?? Just because my take is unpopular doesn't mean I can't defend myself. It's OK to bring up Benetendi every day but I can't bring up Trout and the Sox lousy front office? I guess I'll be banned soon. My examples are "tired" and Benetendi example isn't??? People with the unpopular opinion are not encouraged to speak at all on here. Very very sad.

Just Sayin: 17-13 Against The Division
QUOTE (Soha @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 11:45 AM) Obviously every one of us would rather pick 30th than tank. The whole point is to win a World Series. The pro tank people are tired of running in quicksand and want to see some actual progress towards a championship. It's not a hard concept to get. A lot of people would rather tank than pick 29th. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 7, 2017 -> 06:25 AM) I want them to lose 162 games so we can pick whoever we want in 2018. Don't you realize you draftniks are falling for the biggest cliche in sports: Only caring about the future. Wanting the quarterback who never plays to take over. The unknown is always more mysterious and better than the known. You want the best possible draftee. You are all assuming your front office will take the right guy, sign the right guy, develop the right guy. Give me a winning team now. Give me all wins NOW. I'll take as many wins as we can get because a.) I don't care about the draft one iota. Whatever player we get, fine, I'll read the hype on him one day and hope to see him in the big leagues. In the meantime, give me wins now and give me free agents. The money the team spends? They should spend a TON considering what they are charging fans for food, drink and tickets and parking. I am much less front office friendly than most of you who trust our team to pick the right guy. There's always an excuse. Gee if the team on the field would have lost 2 more games we wouldn't have taken Rodon we'd have had Benetendi!!! Why didn't the team just lose 10 more that year?" Man I'm glad I'll never think that way. I want wins each night they take the field. Even this pathetic team. Give me a win tonight.

Hawk to retire at the end of 2018 season
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jun 7, 2017 -> 04:04 AM) He may be 'sickened' by the product (aren't we all?) but he's getting very well paid for the trouble of doing so at least. Very true. I forgot about the $$$ temporarily and he probably makes $600,000 or more a year I'd think.

June 6th Game Thread: White Sox @Tampa Bay Rays
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2017 -> 02:42 AM) Seemingly a nice trade value night. Love seeing Anderson being aggressive on the bases. Fathom you know better than that. Q has a 5.50 ERA; he's not bringing back much if anything; Robertson is a good not a great closer, ditto; Frazier brings NOTHING. Melky brings NOTHING; Holland NOTHING. We'll get something for Q and Robertson, but not much and that's it on this horses*** team.

Hawk to retire at the end of 2018 season
I watched the Hawk dugout interview with the media from last week or whenever. He just always mentions the grandkids. He just wants to be around them and help them with their baseball which is great. I can't help but think the horribleness of the Sox product now and for the next 5 years really has soured him on baseball. Can you picture seeing as many games as he has in his life? I am thinking he just has no interest in watching bad baseball. I bet he'd come up with a way to make it work with his grandkids (maybe take a full month off when they play the most games) if the Sox actually had a team worth watching. I mean he has to be sickened by the product.

Rodon Rehab Starts
Not saying today's Rodon line his means anything, but I'm a little surprised our fans give Hahn and KW the benefit of the doubt on our younger prospects. Frankly I don't trust either of them at all at this point. They've made a ton of bad acquisitions including Melky, Dunn, Frazier, Beckham, Tank, so many of the bullpen hacks we've had since our last good Sox team. Just don't understand why you all aren't in more of a wait and see on Fulmer and Rodon. Both easily could be additional flameouts. I'm not asking for their firing (KW deserves credit and admiration for 05 and Hahn may be good) but ... why the unabashed trust of them? p.s.: I do respect Melky for taking a ball flush off the face and continuing his at bat and getting a hit.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2017 -> 05:01 PM) In the 21st century? Not really. If you are aligned with a political party, you know you have a minimum of 35 to 40% of the country that will make excuses for you, no matter what. Party has become more important than honest, integrity or anything else to the vast majority of voters. Great post. I think it's 100 percent true.

Renteria is a horrible in-game manager
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 07:49 PM) I'm sick of the bunts. As far as the bullpen usage goes WTF is he supposed to even do when your starters are this bad and/or can't go more than 80 pitches? The injuries to the rotation have finally caught up to the Sox the past two weeks and it's showing in the strain on the pen. I really, really, really want to see Shields, Lopez and Rodon in this rotation by July. Start building some trade value for Shields and start building for the future with Rodon and Lopez. You are a great poster, but please ... we're getting NOTHING for Shields. My gosh, what team would want anything to do with him?

Bill Maher does something very stupid
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 08:18 AM) I find it amusing that you didn't know that lunatic Nugent said those things. You listen to waaay too much rightwing radio crap. Nugent clarified his remarks about Obama this week. CNN link or somewhere. He said he wasn't gonna kill anybody. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 02:57 PM) Maybe if you don't want to be associated with Rush, you should stop parroting what he says and acting like he is a good source for factual information(lots of people listen, folks!) A lot of people do listen. The guy is mega wealthy and mega popular. Why is he discounted immediately? QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 02:08 PM) Pot meet kettle. Tell me where I said Maher was ok saying what he said I'll wait And while you are looking, let me know the last time Rush apologized for anything he said. Rush is smarter than saying something that will get him fired. Oops, Monday Night Football canned his ass. As far as sponsors dropping him, I don't know how he's even on the air with the bizarre ads that appear on that show. If's all products designed to rip off aging white men and ridiculous scam type products.

2017 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 03:50 PM) I agree with Greg. DNC definitely tried to clear the field and it's a mistake that people won't let them make again. But, its usually difficult to find candidates after a two termer. See, once again I am RIGHT. Thank u for the endorsement here. Of course they "cleared the field." It was Hillary. Too bad the DNC fell for the "coronation" atmosphere that was going on. Had Biden been encouraged you dont think he'd have been a winner and crushed Trump?

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 05:37 AM) CNN host Reza Aslan faced backlash on Saturday after calling President Donald Trump a "piece of s---" after a terrorist attack in London left seven dead and dozens wounded. In a tweet on Saturday that was later deleted, the University of California, Riverside professor and host of "Believer" quoted the president's use of several terrorist incidents in London to justify his executive action barring individuals from several majority-Muslim nations. "This piece of s--- is a not just an embarrassment to American and a stain on the presidency. He's an embarrassment to humankind," Aslan wrote. The tweet immediately sparked outrage on the right. Aslan deleted the tweet and apologized Sunday afternoon, http://www.businessinsider.com/reza-aslan-...n-attack-2017-6 Again, he should be fired. A professional media person can't call anybody a piece of s*** publicly and keep his/her job. And that CNN anchor who made a racist remark to the spelling bee winner should be ashamed of herself and fired as well.

Yet another attack in England...
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 02:55 AM) Chance of being killed by refugee terrorist in United States is one in 3.6 billion Donald Trump expected to issue order suspending immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries despite little evidence to support it. Shouldn't we also be declaring war on junk food and heart attacks? Texting while driving or walking across a busy street? Texting and driving must stop! People, you are going to die eventually doing this. It would be a tragically stupid and unnecessary way to go! Just stop it. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 03:36 AM) God I hate responses like this. We are literally dealing with organized evil and people like you make light of it because the odds of it ever impacting you directly is small. True. There is a real danger of attacks at our big-crowd events in stadiums and at entrances to stadiums and I fear random stabbings/beheadings. We must stop these thugs and attack!

2016-2017 NBA Thread
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 02:55 AM) LeBron was the one who started the whole join teams with all stars. Durant took that up a few notches obviously, but you live by the sword.. That is one, great take! Very very true.

The environment thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 08:25 PM) https://www.yahoo.com/news/al-gore-trumps-d...-171821203.html Al Gore: Trump’s decision to withdraw from Paris Agreement ‘threatens the ability of humanity to solve the climate crisis in time’ Isn't Bloomberg saying he's going to pay the exact amount the USA used to pay? So what's the big deal? Bloomberg has the back of the US environmentalists and all is well. Trump hate is rampant. He's not gonna last over a year, people, so relax.

Yet another attack in England...
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 02:29 AM) London, ‘reeling’? The city that weathered Nazi bombs pushes back against fear. There should be concern if not fear. I get mocked on here for saying ISIS wants to behead us in real life situations. Sit at a restaurant and they come out with machetes hacking people to death. Sick bastards. We need to fight these assholes. Find out where they are and drop BOMBS on them. Lotsa bombs.

Renteria is a horrible in-game manager
He's already failed his audition. The bunting is absurd. Is he on a one-year deal? I'd move on after this season, keep trying guys til we pick the right one.

**June 3 game thread: Sox vs Tigers**
QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 01:52 AM) The Sox pitchers collectively rank 3rd in fWAR since the start of 2009. Pitching in an offensive friendly ball park in front of bad defenses is going to skew their ERA pretty significantly. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=...=&players=0 I don't have the data in front of me to support this, but I'm almost positive the Sox have also been the healthiest pitching staff in baseball over that time span as well. Coop isn't perfect, but I don't know who the Sox could bring in that would be a clear upgrade over him. Sox bullpen has been miserable since the 05 title basically. Use of bullpens has risen dramatically since then and Sox bullpen has been pathetic for the most part. Actually ever since that ESPN announcer I forget who it is, said we had the best bullpen in baseball. Our closers have been above average; everybody else has reeked since 05.

Bill Maher does something very stupid
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 05:06 AM) Ted Nugent We need to ride in the battlefield and chop their heads off. If Obama is re-elected I will either be dead or be in jail in a year. He also called for Hillary's hanging. He was Trumps guest at the White House. The Secret Service should have investigated Nugent then, just as they are interviewing Griffin. If he said he would kill Obama and Hillary he needed to be interviewed.

Just Sayin: 17-13 Against The Division
QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 06:11 AM) The tanking thing never made sense to me for several reasons 1. No guarantee that you will end up with a top 3 Draft pick. 2. No guarantee that any player selected becomes an All Star quality player. 3. No guarantee that the 5th overall pick becomes a better player than a 12th overall pick. 4. It demoralizes the current team and destroys the winning attitude that is so important to cultivate. 5. It demoralizes the fan base. 6. It reduces attendance which in turn lessens the financial ability of the team to acquire players. 7. It goes against everything we are taught about competing in sports no matter who your opposition is. I like the progress with Avi G, Leury G, Davidson and Yolmar. Omar and Kevan Snith have been decent. Sox need to start bringing up some pitching. Maybe Giolito, Fulmer, Burdi, Reynaldo and maybe even Kopech. We have to stop the bludgeonings. 15-5, 10-1... Great post. I endorse this post heavily.

Just Sayin: 17-13 Against The Division
QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 05:05 AM) You continue to astound me with how little you know. The obvious sits right in front of you, and yet you completely ignore it and pretend you have any clue. Yet you lack any clue. Thanks for the insults. I personally would rather get the 30th pick than EVER root for the Sox to lose. So there. I understand your concept. I think it's ridiculous. This team will lose 90 plus games. I'd rather go .500 than lose 90 plus games. Why? I put little stock in the baseball draft. I feel you can get a helluva good pick if your team had a lousy record. I don't have to root for that record. And guess what? I don't trust my front office to take a great player at No. 5 overall vs. No. 13. No I don't. With their track record it'd be some college pitcher who won't make the adjustment. Now kudos for drafting Tim Anderson and some of the others. But I don't need the No. 3 pick; give me a winning record and No. 14 pick.
