  1. Do u really believe that? He and Benetti were amazing. And he and Hawk. I just found Stoney so enjoyable when I watched games.
  2. You'd think Stoney would quit after the final game. Some other team would pick him up in a minute. His partner is amateurish sorry to say. He can stay obviously but Stoney should move on and let him have Gordo.
  3. 119 losses. How? Why? Nobody could have ever predicted a team could ever be this bad. Even expansion teams won more games in a season. Jerry is a colossal failure. This almost nullifies the 2005 title. I mean there's still a chance we don't even win 40. Think about that. Jerry ... get some of your money and walk through the crowd at our final home game and give out some 100 dollar bills. My gawd.
  4. I'd say the highest possible win total is 50. Maybe they'll win 45 just cause of law of averages.
  5. I think it'll be worse. They have no good everyday players except maybe Robert and the catcher might be acceptable. Sox will be out of the race in April again. How they get buried by the likes of KC, Minnie, Detroit and Cleveland is puzzling.
  6. Lot of fans on here believe in the myth. Unfortunately the double tank jobs mean no title contention for a good, long while. How long? WE HAVE NO GOOD PLAYERS except Crochet and maybe Robert (though some say our young pitching may be stellar). It's gonna take a long while.
  7. Cause he's a budding star and the goal of all teams should be to keep their stars. It mite translate to wins.
  8. Cause he's from Naperville.
  9. Tatis looked hitterish and like he cared. Robert ... me no likey his last at bat. Losing 120 games will be epic if it happens.
  10. Tatis????? LOL. What an organization. What a joke. Another guy who coulda made us a WINNER. Bunch of stiffs.
  11. Wow. Good game. I wonder why I want the Sox to lose. Habit I guess. Sox made a good move putting in the lefty against all those lefties.
  12. Wild pitch would be fitting, lol.
  13. I know why u bunt but if u are playing the Sox and are the Pads why bunt? Two on none out. Eventually you'll get the winning hit.
  14. Hard to bunt against a lefty fastball when u a lefty.
  15. What good is a guy who only throws fastballs??
  16. This closer wins if he had a slider to throw in the dirt.
  17. Why all the fastballs??? Sox tie it, nice job Sosa.
  18. Trading him will hurt this team ... a lot.
  19. How could he have one homers in 44 games? He ain't lifting and pulling it right. BTW I didn't like his last at bat. He had weird body language and balance. Sox have been free game of the day a lot lately.
  20. I still would keep Crochet but he's going to bring a haul. I bet u could get two top prospects for him and two others. Or in the Sox case two top prospects and cash. I'd still keep him cause I'm against trading stars amid a tank job.
  21. I do love Ozzie that is for sure.
  22. I did. But back then they had reporters not afraid to ruffle feathers and I don't remember anybody suggesting anything but the Sox wanted to get rid of Ozzie. Kenny won the battle between those 2. Seemed cut and dried. Ozzie wanted more $$ and control and they chose KW. ... I will say in speaking against Ozzeroo he certainly had the biggest ego in Sox history (except for maybe George Bell and Albert Belle, mabe Chet Lemon after reading what Lip put on here) and it probably was time for him to move on to another team. Now I wanted him here but Oz's ego was too inflated at the time to probably continue on with the Sox. Finally, though, enuf time has passed, he's been good as an announcer, and it's time he returns. Arguably except for Al Lopez and Chuck Tanner the best manager in Sox history. p.s. What difference would it make if Oz waited a week and a half for the hammer to drop? He just gave the Sox a head start on finding a new skipper. I would think Ozzie is still popular with 'most' Sox fans.
  23. Kind of unfair: 1.) Say what you want, he led our team to the 2005 WS title. Ecstasy for fans. You might say the players did all the work. Fair enough but he was the manager. 2.) I fully understand the 'quitting on the team' argument so he hasn't conned me. I accept that he did that cause frankly I don't care he did that. It's not like the team was winning anything. 3.) He's very entertaining, even though unfortunately I don't get the postgame show here as Sirius cuts off after the final out. My point is he didn't con me. I know the good and bad with him. I happen to think he is a great baseball mind and I loved his era as a player and manager. Only critical of Sunday lineup b.s. in which he conceded a lot of series finales.
  24. My rebuttal: "Ozzie is an extroverted (at least with Sox media and national media, maybe not the normal person I don't know him) accomplished man who eviscerates the team because all the team has done all season is lose and make a few inconsequential to bad trades. While ignoring Jerry's role in all this is unfortunate, it is understandable as virtually all announcers (save for Hawk in his prime and Harry) would not blast the owner in such a situation. They'd ignore the topic. While I'd love for him to tear into Jerry, not many employees have the guts to bury their boss."
  25. I think you are being unfair to Ozzie. So what if he is a mouthpiece for Jerry? If he criticizes the home team once it's more than many announcers would do. It's amazing how people that hate Ozzie usually bring up his quitting on the team which is ridiculous IMO. How many games were the Sox out when he negotiated with Miami? He was gone after that season and everybody knew it. He lost the battle against Kenny. If he waits a week is he a hero right now? The guy expertly managed a postseason and led the Sox to their first WS title since forever. Geez. Somebody should do a documentary on his 'quitting' the team once and for all. This team basically quit after one month. You criticizing him for going to this even on behalf of Jerry is kind of piling on Ozzie I feel.
