  1. Isn't that home record even worse if u go several games before the break? I wonder if Sox home record is worse in modern history and I wonder if that 1-22 is worse since the break in modern history. Their record really looks impossible to attain on paper. When u see 33 wins, 113 losses in mid September, OMG. Please tell me why there's no public reprimand from the commish. This season will never be forgotten. Unless next season is worse.
  2. I think Kasper is really good, it's just that voice. But I've been in the car a couple times and caught some innings on Sirius and Kasper and DJ are really a delight to listen to. I could get used to the voice. But I'll say this: Kasper handles the Sox ineptness well. He tells it like it is without belaboring the Sox horribleness. DJ is wonderful. The two as a team: B-plus, only cause of Len's voice. I could go A-. TV broadcast: Stone A; new guy D. So they get a C.
  3. Like the old days when some of you ripped me on here a lot, you win. I acknowledge I'm a huge Cub fan and an even bigger Royals fan. I have always despised the Sox and have no history with them. Peace out (my last post on the matter).
  4. Yeah I like to waste 20 years of my life on a Sox message board cause I worship the Cubs. You appear to be trying to bait me into getting mad and possibly banned again. You act like I should be watching 9 innings of Sox baseball per night. Are you one of the 1 percent of Chicago natives watching games? Would a Cub fan know who Bill Nahorodny is? Or Joel Horlen? Or Cisco Carlos or Luis Alvarado? Or Alan Bannister? Or Dwyane Wise? Yeah I'm a huge Cub fan. I should play along and look up some Cub stats. What is your motivation to question greg's fandom suddenly? You are certifiably different.
  5. I like the word 'dig' as a verb. As well as the participle 'digging'
  6. A cynic would suggest you are going back to the sad days when you despised greg and fought me on here a lot and u could be accused of baiting me so to speak. Oddly enough the Sox had decent records those years.
  7. The Royals rushed Witt. He was on the team in their 100 loss season.
  8. I said all along I wasn't paying for mlb.com this year. My first year without it. And I made the right call. I'm pretty sure I predicted 40 wins for this team, maybe even in the 30s if we could find the thread. Why the heck may I ask you would I watch this crap at 95 bucks a year? I made the correct call. I've made no secret of the fact I only watch the free game summaries oddly enough on mlb.com. Free. They generally account for every run in the game as well as pitching performance.
  9. How bout Ozzie or Joe Maddon. Both know Chicago and both have managed winners. Let's face it the manager means nothing when the team is this bad personnel wise. So give it to somebody who will gladly take the money and yet aggressive enough to ask for talent. It's not like Skip is Earl Weaver for gosh sakes.
  10. How was Ozzie as an analyst postgame all season? Was he ultra negative? Who were his main guys to criticize?
  11. The Sox rolled over and stunk against KC all season, so they owe it to the Guardians to continue to stink for Cleveland this series. Sox have gotten the Royals back on track 2-3 times already this season. They should be fair to Cleveland and get swept by the Guardians too.
  12. Man, three years is a long time to stink. Almost an entire college career. ... Going from a little kid (10) to a teenager (13). ... For most people an entire tenure at their first real job. Woe.Is.Us.Sox.Fans.
  13. True. You get a hit or a HR and it means something with KC, not with our team.
  14. It was my way of always disapproving of his acquisition. Didn't need to be playing that guy over anybody young. I'd rush Montgomery. The Royals are in the playoffs cause of 1 1/2 players, Witt and Salvy. And here we think we have to tear it all down. Take your good players, baby, and pair 'em with a superstar or two (Robert, Eloy, Monte, Crochet). Coach up Robert and Eloy to be special since they were supposed to be special.
  15. Yeah my initial excitement subsided when I saw his offensive stats are not good this season in almost 200 at bats. .215ish, one homer, 14 ribbies. It's amazing how few players the Sox have that would generate any happiness to a fan. Mabe Benintendi can teach him how to elevate. Benitendi hit a few homers this season after what, one or so the year before?
  16. Ah Juan Pierre. I really used to blast him on this forum. I did not like him. Now? Juan Pierre would be fine on this team. One of the best players for sure.
  17. I can't see why anybody with a name would want the Sox job when there's no plan to improve the team anytime soon.
  18. Why is he leaving his current job if he's great? Just wondering. I don't follow baseball closely anymore.
  19. There's been absolutely no mention of Chiefs and San Antonio up here.
  20. Trades like this are weird cause as much as I despised Kopech, the Sox are gonna have to acquire some relievers again this offseason. If any are worth a bleep the Sox will have to either pay some good $$ in free agency or trade for some Kopech-like guys. Same with Crochet. They trade him, they'll need somebody capable of a clean 5 2/3 to acquire. That's why greg has always been against tanking and trading anybody with a pulse. Kopech blew chunks but he had a pulse. Now the Sox are gonna have to find some Kopeches and Roberts and Crochets when they deal them. Weird way to build a team. Anyway we can get Dombrosky to end his career here? Or somebody with a clue? How many years do the Sox wanna win 38-50 games? Geez.
  21. I get a sneaky feeling this time the Sox won't win the quest for state tax dollars. When a team is this bad, the state has the clout. It's like "J.R. if you really want to move this wretched team, go ahead. The city will survive with one team in the increasingly boring MLB." I know it'd be a blow to the overall economy if the Sox leave but the timing of this isn't very good IMO. Why would JR put up significant dollars when he can get a sweetheart deal assuredly somewhere else like Tennessee.
  22. I doubt Skip wants to manage a team with such a horrid pitching staff (without Crochet) and lineup in which your big guys are Andrew and Gavin (Robert is still maddening as he hits about .230 and still could be traded as part of the tank philosophy of acquiring prospects). I do respect Andrew for hanging in there. Now he's hitting again. Gavin seems to do OK when he decides to go oppo field.
  23. Yikes. He was gawd awful, no other way to put it, in the Chicago pen this season. How are the other guys we traded doing? I think the Royals are happy with DeBong. I don't know how Pham is doing or if he plays much. Hows our guy Burger doing these days? Eloy?
  24. Are Fletcher and Amaya the real deal? Is Fletcher the next grinder to play 10 seasons in the bigs? Nice dive. Nice hit. Sox quest to bag 40 wins seems possible maybe.
