Can't believe I was wrong. I thought it was OKC's turn this year. When Durant single handedly cut it to four with 1:30 left I thought they had 'em right where they wanted 'em. I will say this: You never know what the future may hold. I would think IF Durant stays in OKC (which he probably will) and he and Westy stay healthy, they probably could have a regular season like GS had this year and run through the playoffs to claim the title. SAT is done, over the hill. Golden State I guess will stick around for a while but an injury to Curry and it's over. Most of the other West teams are on the decline. Portland is not good enough. Clips are not good enough. Houston blows. If OKC can stay healthy, they got to be favorites next year, right? The only way OKC might not run away with it next year is if Durant is fed up with trying to claim a ring with OKC after the Game Six choke job and leaves. It was right there for them and they couldn't win Game Six at home. I guess there's a chance Durant could leave; I'd say 90 percent odds he stays, mainly because they'll probably be favored to win it next year. It's a certainty they will win at least one title, maybe more in the next 3 years if Westy/Durant remain. Why go somewhere else? The nuclueus is right there in tornado land. If I were them I'd trade Ibaka and go with Adams/Kanter. Either acquire a guy "like" Iguodala who can play defense or another reliable three-point bombsman. OKC's future is weird to project. It's not like they haven't been there before. If this doesn't devastate them mentally they could be next year's unbeatable team. If this does devastate them, they might be a team like this year's Bulls. Pathetic unachiever. p.s. At least if you bet the house on OKC you would have won. They covered, didn't they?

QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ May 30, 2016 -> 10:07 PM) The whole team is right around the C- or D grade. April is long gone and the shortcomings of this team have been exposed big time. They will most likely finish the year around 75 wins. C's may get degrees but they don't lead to Division championships. I'd say 90 or more losses. Total tank job. We have four months left for gosh sakes. Think of how many losses are coming??

Robin Ventura sacrifice bunted with the 3 hitter in the 7th inning

QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 30, 2016 -> 09:28 PM) Are we in the worst era of White Sox history? Impossible for me to say, but it sure feels like it. I don't even remember the last time we made the playoffs. The Cell is going to be a morgue this summer. Empty. You'd have to be a moron to support this offense and bullpen. If you like to go to games and stretch out and avoid crowds, go for it. Only exception. Cub series maybe. Half Cub fans at those games probably. -
I just read a story that said Millenials will take less money to be able to work in jeans and less stressful situations. I will applaud Millenials big time if it removes collared shirts and ties from the office. Does anybody really wear a tie anymore? Ties are disgusting.

At least the 1-2 Trump/Hillary debates (she won't agree to more than 1-2 I bet; probably one) would be interesting. I like her recent stance on the email thing (I know I said I won't listen or watch her, but the Meghan McCain show played a few soundbites and I didn't turn off). When she gets asked about the email thing, now, her only line is: She laughs out loud then says, "That will not affect my candidacy or my presidency." Pretty good strategy by her. I'm surprised she doesnt preface the comment with: "LOL. That ol' thing? You are talking about emails? Emails? You are talking about emails? That ol' issue? That will not affect my candidacy or presidency." And walk away. Meanwhile, Trump is gonna harp on the emails and keep saying, "Crooked Hillary." It's gonna be wild. He will call her that. No doubt. Whether it comes off as very rude will be the media's job to decipher (you know the answer). GIVE ME BERNIE OR GIVE ME DEATH! New American rally cry or should be!

QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2016 -> 09:25 PM) It won't be him. Let him stay in minors and continue to be awful at his job. Good. I would puke having to listen to his bleep every day. -
Seven losses in a row. Please don't think this is hyperbole. I think before all is said and done we might vie for a top three draft pick this year. Clearly we are one of the worst hitting teams in Sox history. Bad hitting teams with lousy bullpens tend to drop a lot of games. And we have 4 months of baseball to go! Think about it. We're not going to win many blowouts and with no bullpen we are going to drop a TON of the close games we are in. I think we lose well over 90 games. Anybody on board with this thinking?

QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2016 -> 09:20 PM) It's a good question, but can it hurt? Robin has done nothing in his tenure to deserve benefit of the doubt. You don't want Buddy Bell do you? -
QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 30, 2016 -> 07:35 PM) This pen is not May bad, but is also not April good. So somewhere right in between. The bullpen blows. I thought Nate had figured something out. I thought Robertson truly was elite. He's OK on most occasions but obviously not a big-game pitcher (see the Royals choke job). The pen is sub-par again. I'd give it a C- to D.

QUOTE (soxfan85 @ May 30, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) Has it been confirmed that Ventura made this call or did Cabrera decide to do it on his own? Not to ruffle anybody's feathers, I just haven't heard who actually "made" this decision. Either way, it was garbage. But if it was Robin, just further evidence that he should be on his way out...taking the bat out of Cabrera's hands in that situation with a slumping Frazier on deck and a guy just called up in the hole. Like Morrissey wrote, it looks like he's trying to be fired. Put likeable Robin out of his misery, JR. He's a failure. No harm in that. Not everybody can manage. -
QUOTE (soxfan85 @ May 30, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) Absolutely, man. I was being sarcastic. But, I did hear via media A LOT about his veteran leadership, etc. Hence, the sarcasm. However, it really upsets me that at the very end of free agency, guys like Desmond and Fowler were available. Two guys that REALLY could have helped with this team right now with their bats, etc.. Instead, we end up with Jackson and Rollins. Again, dumpster diving and expecting results. It gets tiring. Very very tiring. Like the Trib writer wrote, we're not hearing about Lawrie's mouthpiece anymore. Rollins is just collecting a paycheck and settling in with this pathetic team.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 30, 2016 -> 07:36 PM) I've always been one who never understood the apathy of fans in buying tickets to games. However, I must say I'm in that club now. I was planning to not only hit the series with the Angels in Anaheim this summer, but also planning a trip back to Chicago for another series. If I spent a couple of thousand dollars though only to see Robin blow games, I would be so pissed. I can't allow it to happen. I'll spend my summer in Vegas and use the money on strippers instead. I know my loss of ticket revenue for 3 games (I know the Anaheim games don't count) won't make a difference to the organization, but maybe if enough fans stay away long enough, Reinsdorf will finally understand that a managerial move needswe to be made. This organization's fans deserve better than it is getting. I loved Robin as a player and was very supportive of him when hired as manager. However, the plug should have pulled after 2 years of ineffective leadership and there's no way he would have lasted through 3 years with any other team. The fact he continues to lead us into nowhere land for a 4th year is unacceptable. Bring back Ozzie and I'll be back to help create Hell in the Cell for other AL teams. Until than, I'll be sitting at the rail of various titty bars giving my dollars to single moms and college students. Yeah, it's not "safe" to go to games right now. I'm not the type who can take it when my team blows leads and loses in a way that will embarrass me. I could have gone to any one of the three Sox-Royals games for free. No way in hell I was going to put myself through that with friends mocking me as we imploded game after game last weekend. The only "good" thing is Royals fans are so f***ed up they think they have this magical team so they were mainly giving themselves and their own players blowjobs over the comeback wins. They mocked the Sox a little but mainly praised their beloved Royals for all the cliches - never giving up, believing, having another WS caliber team. They need to consider who they beat, the pathetic White Sox. We pretty much gave them all 3 games more than them winning it. Royals are lucky we are their b****es. We really have helped their 2 titles in a row and have sparked them this year for sure. The Sox cure a lot of what ails the Royals when we play them. p.s. Those were two great stories linked. Especially the one ripping the new players and saying the spirit was gone. -
QUOTE (soxfan85 @ May 30, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) I am so glad we got Rollins. His leadership is so valuable. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/180984112/ia...r-all-star-vote I know you were sarcastic, but I don't think there are any leaders in baseball anymore. Paulie never said anything when the Sox were in the midst of buffoon-like play. Rollins and all the anti-LaRoche guys haven't done squat to get the team back on the track. It's all bulls***. That said ... some starting pitchers in baseball do appear to be fierce bulldogs like Sale and Verlander. I think except for some pitchers who refuse to come out of games, it's all crap. Rollins is a joke. Lawrie? Frazier? None of these guys want to step on any toes, which is fine, but no longer call guys "leaders." Ballplayers just take care of themselves.

QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ May 30, 2016 -> 05:17 AM) I didn't get very far into this post. I stopped at Nate Jones being a one-pitch pitcher. Nate Jones has an elite slider, when it's on. Elite. Nate Jones is wild. Nothing about him is "elite" as he proved today. he needs a remake of his delivery.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 30, 2016 -> 02:19 AM) B**ch and gripe and moan and point fingers. Maybe we can blame the bar boy too,,? El Rockin you are the best fan of all time. I already told you that. Me personally ... I was thinking about this. The Sox and Royals are sort of "rivals." If baseball had "rivals" I'd say Sox and KC are rivals more than Sox-Detroit; Sox-Minnie, Sox-Cleveland. As a fan, that was f***ing embarrassing. If I owned a team I'd feel pretty ashamed at three monumental meltdowns in a row against a team we should "get up for." As proud as I was when we won the WS, that was flat out embarrassing to get owned in the latter innings 3 games in a row by KC. I don't know how you stay so positive El Rockin, but yes Robin's head should roll right now. He should be fired. I say that even if somehow we make the WS. Right now at this point in time, the Sox performance after a start like they had should result in Robin's dismissal. f***ing embarrassment.

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ May 30, 2016 -> 02:49 AM) Lamont, Bevington, Manuel, Ventura...who's the next scapegoat? I worshiped Ozzie and still do. But noooo ... the mouth that roared got him booted from town. He was a LEADER just too loud.

QUOTE (harkness @ May 29, 2016 -> 10:44 PM) If you honestly think about it... Nate Jones - good fast ball but no control, a one pitch pitcher with no control... not going to work well. Dan Jennings - avg stuff no control. Matt Albers - looked great early but never had over powering stuff or a lot of pitches to choose from. Zach Duke - had to re-invent himself to get a 2nd chance at the majors... not overwhelming stuff and never has gotten people out consistently. Zach Putnam - has been good lately but never been consistently good over the years. Robertson - is decent at times but wilts quickly when things are going against him. Good control and curveball but a very underwhelming fast ball for a closer with 2 pitches. There are some various no names that I left out here. But if you look at that bullpen, objectively - it's certainly not great, its average at best - with a capability to be horrifically bad wit the lack of control and stuff. I actually was loving our bullpen at 23-10. Coop needs to become Ned Yost and demand 7 innings from our starters. Just like every year in the Robin era, if our starter has to get yanked to start the seventh we're doomed. Nate - never liked him cause of his weird delivery/motion. You've all disagreed with me. Jennings - Just another guy. Gas can if he faces too many batters in a row. Albers - Pathetic. Needs to lose 20 pounds and we'll talk. Duke - Dogs***. One batter or two and pray the law of averages has him record an out? Putnam - Doesn't thrill me. David - Had been pretty damn good til that sickening outing. You really would think he was throwing the game. He was so bad. His biggest blunder was not knowing the defense and letting that grounder be an EASY DP. He goes for it and knocks the ball down. If he was throwing the game, that was the way to do it, interfere with an EASY DP. Know your defensive positioning, David. My gawd.

It's amazing. The papers wanted an extension for Robin just 3 weeks ago. Now it's guillotine time. Fricking amazing. He needs to go. But I'll tell you what ... I'd rather have him than Buddy Bell. Cause I'm telling you, if Bell becomes interim, he will get an extension cause he'll enjoy being back in the dugout.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 30, 2016 -> 02:18 AM) No team better at grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory than the Sox. It sure seems that way. At 23-10 it was so refreshing. Night after night we could celebrate wins and normal baseball. What do our new guys think of this crap?? Avila, Jackson, Rollins, Lawrie, Frazier ... We're losing games in every which way. It's really embarrassing. No way in hell I was going to even watch today's game much less go to it in person. Some asshole called me when we led 4-2 in the eighth and I said I'm not watching or listening. The guy said, "Why?" I said, "Why put yourself through something like that (what was about to happen)?" Then I go to church and ask the guy next to me if the Royals pulled that thing out again and he said yeah. f***ing amazing. Thanks White Sox for forcing your fans to go into a corner and put their hands over their eyes cause they know what's coming. f***ing chokers. These relief pitchers are dogs***, every one of 'em cept maybe Robertson.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 29, 2016 -> 10:44 PM) And KC was last in the AL entering this game in walks. But every single rally in these three games was related to a huge walk (or more). Infante/Escobar Jennings LHP walking Dyson, a LHB FRI Then again today. The Royals get up for the White Sox. People don't want to hear it but it's true. We are their b****es for sure. But they get up for the Sox. One thing about the Sox, they are predictable. The Texas disaster ... you just knew that was the end of our season. Sure nuff Sox lose tons of games after that Robin-Carroll choke and now this KC series, three Texas disaster type games in a row. There's no way this team is doing squat the rest of the year. How the hell could you ever trust this bullpen again after this series. It could implode at any time. BTW, thank your lucky stars Ozzie and the boys had the gumption to get it done in 05 when we made the WS. Once we got there we went ahead and won four close games. If we don't win that WS, in retrospect, we don't win one in many of our lifetimes. At least Oz and the boys didn't choke that one away. This KC series made Chicago's Sox the laughinstocks of baseball. And it was a mediocre Royals team that did it.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 30, 2016 -> 12:17 AM) I would imagine a Carlos Zambrano type pitcher would beat the crap out of the pen costing him a game. I think it is time to fire Cooper. Does Cooper even care about relievers? All the praise he gets is how he turns around starting pitchers. The Coop fixed em talk.

Worst pile of s*** ever to occupy that office. Limbaugh has it right. You can't criticize Obama or you are racist. Hillary won't be criticized in her eight years cause she is the first female president.

Bill O'Reilly says Clinton had a "bad week" last week in the email thing. He said if the FBI calls for indictment "it's over." Rudy Guliani says she is guilty, case closed. Intersting.

QUOTE (Tex @ May 29, 2016 -> 03:38 PM) True and False. False, people are working those hours. True employers are not paying overtime. They put the employees on salary so they do not have to pay the overtime, yet they know the person will put in those hours to keep their jobs. Exactly and if millenials don't want to work work work, what happens in the future? The baby boomers work until they are no more? One problem. Nobody's hiring anybody over 45years old.

Fire Robin. Bring Back Ozzie. Do It Now

QUOTE (My_Sox_Summer @ May 29, 2016 -> 04:23 PM) Our thoughts from the 108 - https://fromthe108.wordpress.com/2016/05/29...-must-be-fired/ Sorry bud, time to go. Good article. Managers are hired to be fired. It's his time to be fired simply because of all the ways they've choked away games in his era. Team is dysfunctional. Don't know if it can ever get back to being a normal team, but things are not looking good right now. A total rebuild is in order and it may take 10 years to change the culture. Maybe more. But Robin is not the guy. They won't fire him though. Remember we were 23-10 at one point and management will let it play out.
