  1. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Sep 7, 2015 -> 07:21 PM) I f***ing hate Hawk Harrelson. I absolutely dread the days that my stream gets the Sox broadcast. I don't know why some Sox fans hate on the legend that is Hawk.
  2. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) So nice to sweep KC. This team is making a run at the wild card. We aren't giving up until we do Ugh. El Rockin you can't really believe your statement. No wild card runs this season.
  3. Finally. f***ing finally! The Sox go into KC and win all three. Halleluia. Finally. It really means nothing but I'll sure take it. I just don't understand how we can lose so many games against KC then sweep a 3-game series finally out of nowhere. The strange thing is we all know it signifies nothing. It's just a wonderful thing, though, to sweep them. From a Royals standpoint, the Cueto acquisition is a reminder not all midseason additions do work. He blows. And he's another guy whose gonna soon be making 20 million dollars a season for 6-7 seasons. I just don't understand how baseball execs can hand out these contracts and risk the player immediately turning to s***! GOOD JOB WHITE SOX. YOU SWEPT THE BASTARDS.
  4. Did some surfing tonight and saw a lot of people think the Virginia deaths were a hoax. To the people who think it was a hoax ... why is a woman still in the hospital? The hospital would not go along with a hoax. No fricking way. And we had funerals burying two people. Yes the father of the slain woman acted different from a normal grieving father and the boyfriend acted bizarre, but grief is different for everybody. There's not a way to act when a loved one dies. You act the way you feel at the time. A hoax? Grow up you tube people. It's very poor taste.
  5. Very sad take. This woman supports Hillary just because she is a woman. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/stacey-newma...kusaolp00000592 I don't think I've ever read anything as sad/sick as that story. What an awful endorsement, based on sex alone.
  6. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 03:43 AM) Danks still isn't very good. He's to KC what Bruce Chen was to the White Sox, that's all. Wrong on Danks. He's actually had a good to excellent season, a LOT of quality starts.
  7. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 02:50 AM) So the Sox would have good hitting but no pitching? That's not a formula for success either. Very true. That's why I liked my suggestion the best. We could have traded Shark at the break and Duke like I suggested. We also could have dumped Melky, Laroche and Lexi. Our pitching would still be great w/out Shark and Duke and even Robertson. Why oh why didn't we start the reloading at the deadline??
  8. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 01:42 AM) Way to go Jonesy and Alexei. This should not be a game that Q gets a no decision. Very true. He worked too hard on a steamy night.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 01:41 AM) Petricka should be turned into a long reliever. Gives up far too many hits to be a set-up man Petricka and Duke are not big leaguers IMO. Somehow get rid of both.
  10. Damn just what the doctor ordered; a double play.
  11. Oops, our s***ty bullpen plus some lucky hits have the Sox in a world of hurt right now.
  12. Nice to beat the Royals. The law of averages has kicked in nicely this series. Q is pretty damn impressive. ... What happened to Melky's power? Nine homers is ridiculously bad for all the $$$ he's making. This board IMO doesn't blast Melky enough. Arguably he's one of the biggest disappointments on our team. That said ... SOX ARE ROLLING OVER KC! Finally. Nice.
  13. QUOTE (farmteam @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 02:10 AM) I don't think anything greg has said in here has gone that far. Thank you! I do appreciate those who like/tolerate/or do not hate Greg.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 09:16 PM) Trump beats all of the main Dem options head to head according to this poll, including Clinton: http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presid...ry-head-to-head If Hillary loses, drinks are on me up to 200 bucks at a Sox game someday (dunno why I stopped at 200).
  15. Any update on your situation?
  16. QUOTE (AlSoxfan @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 04:44 AM) Good win, Danks pitched well once again against KC. Wish he would of gotten a shutout but a complete game is nice, his first this yr I think. I don't know if anyone has noticed but Lexi has his avg. up to .251 now. He's getting better as usual as the yr. goes on. Yeah, I can't believe he ran through that stop sign on the single to left. He was safe by a mile. Weird how sometimes it works out.
  17. QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 02:29 AM) Hey Greg, you should have gone tonight! Yep, I blew it. I would have loved it. Perfect game for a Sox fan. Homers, dominance.
  18. John Danks, baby!!! Who'd have thought he'd be this good so soon after major surgery? My favorite Sox by far. Nice job, Tyler Flowers. I notice Tyler was choking up on the bat on his long home run. Not a bad idea, Tyler and other big leaguers. Still can hit it out if you choke up. It's not manly or cool to choke up, though, so most don't. Good job, Eaton as well. Well, he's salvaging a nice season. Eaton next year just has to get off to a better start. He's put together a nice season and deserves credit but he has to do better next April/May. Great win. Today's win was Sox first in Kauffman all year. Lot of frustration pent up. Would be nice to spoil one weekend of the asshole KC fans who are used to kicking our ass.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 10:55 PM) It's not the job of the media to "take sides" and try to remove candidates. They cover frontrunners, and most candidates eliminate themselves because they don't have the ability to withstand the scrutiny or pressure, for whatever reason/s (see GOP primary season, 2007/2008). In fact, you could make the argument that the Clintons (just like in 1991-92) will use the media attacks and throw them in the "white wing conspiracy" bag of tricks, although it was definitely a lot easier back then to back Bill because he was at least likable, entertaining and obviously brilliant as a pure politican. Hilary is none of those things, which is why there's so much resistance. She's the female equivalent of Romney/Dole. The main things keeping her alive are the fact that the economy did quite well under the Clintons in the mid to late 90's, and the fact that the idea of an experienced co-president is intriguing to many after their disappointment with Obama's first term. But, just like Trump, the media "turning up the screws" on Hilary won't make her go away no matter how much you might wish it...and the Dems' betting money still isn't ready to move to Biden. The only name they'll readily accept is Elizabeth Warren right now, who apparently is still sitting this one out or waiting for Clinton to completely implode so she doesn't look as opportunistic. Nice post. I do hope Hillary goes for an all female ticket. She's a lock, so I at least think it would be cool to have all women in there. If she had any true guts she'd pick a woman running mate. She won't though. I wonder which young male is gonna join up with Hillary so he can be president for eight years after her eight years. It's gonna be a very young African American male IMO.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 11:58 PM) With how the Royals' offense has looked the last week or so, close game isn't coming to mind right now. It's probably destiny Sox lose every game in Kauffman this season. That's pretty pathetic when you think about it. Games One and Three easy Royals wins. Game Two 'might' be the only one Sox steal. Doubt it.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 09:11 PM) I'm actually going to enjoy this. "If Israel attacks Iran … we’re supposed to be on Iran’s side." "We’re the most highly taxed nation in the world." "We have 93 million people out of work. They look for jobs, they give up, and all of a sudden, statistically, they're considered employed." "The Mexican government ... they send the bad ones over." The number of illegal immigrants in the United States is "30 million, it could be 34 million." Under President Barack Obama, income levels and unemployment numbers "are worse now than just about ever" for African-Americans. The five Guantanamo detainees swapped for Bowe Bergdahl "are right now back on the battlefield." Says John McCain "has done nothing to help the vets." "If you're from Syria and you're a Christian, you cannot come into this country" as a refugee. "You know, the sanctuary cities, do you know he had five of them in Florida while he was governor? Can you believe this? I didn't know that." "the $5 billion website for Obamacare, which never worked. Still doesn't work." "The Mexican government forces many bad people into our country." I write a book called The Art of the Deal, the No. 1 selling business book of all time, at least I think, but I’m pretty sure it is. "Even our nuclear arsenal doesn't work. It came out recently they have equipment that is 30 years old. They don't know if it worked." "The last quarter, it was just announced, our gross domestic product … was below zero. Who ever heard of this? It's never below zero." Says President Barack Obama’s recent New York fundraising trip "cost between $25 million and $50 million." Says President Obama's "grandmother in Kenya said he was born in Kenya and she was there and witnessed the birth." "The people that went to school with (Barack Obama), they never saw him, they don't know who he is." And that doesn't even add in his BS where he straight up lied to your face and didn't care on this one: "In 2011, when Trump was a voluble “birther” — you remember: Obama supposedly was not born in the United States, hence he is an illegitimate president — an interviewer asked if he had people “searching in Hawaii” for facts. “Absolutely,” Trump said. “They can’t believe what they’re finding.” He lies to you constantly and you don't care because his lies are mean things about people who look different and that's ok. Balta, with all due respect, I don't care about Trump because he's not a real option to win anything, much less the presidency. Yes I love the fact Trump is getting up there blasting everybody. But there's no way in hell he's going to be President. I doubt I'd even vote for him. Remember, Greg is FAIR. Frick, I voted for Obama over that boring imbecile, Romney. I actually voted for Obama. I doubt I'd pull the proverbial lever for Trump. But yes I do love his style and I laugh at his speeches and interviews. As far as Chris Matthews and the media ... SHAME! Hillary should be out over these lies. Out! Again, Trump? He's not winning anything. People just love what's coming out of his mouth right now. s***, his quotes about women alone along his obvious disdain for women guarantee him not having a chance of winning anything. I want a real threat, Hillary, removed from the race by the media. Trump? WHo cares. He's funny but not winnin that is for certain.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 08:13 PM) I do not know. There are a multitude of pitchers a lot better than him on this market who have no draft pick compensation attached to them. They'll get sucked up first, as will guys like Buehrle who will have draft pick compensation attached but who have performed better. That's going to eat up a lot of the money on the market. Samardzija's hope, IMO, is that some team fails to satisfy their pitching need with the early guys and has money left over in late January. There is precedent for that - see Shields's deal last year. Either that, or he should be the first one to sign a contract and not wait once someone offers him something. He has the name. I guarantee you he goes to an NL team for 17-20 mill a year for 4 years probably with an option.
  23. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 02:37 PM) Liar. You're such a closet Royals fan otherwise you wouldn't talk so much and so highly of them. Then why the hell am I turning down going to the Sox-KC games for FREE three times this season? It'd be a guaranteed win for KC if I liked them. I despise the Royals. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 04:37 PM) Greg I'm surprised you don't put $1,000+ moneyline on the Royals every time they play the Sox. I don't have a bookie. You are right though. To those who doubt my powers of prediction, I again got my lock of the week correct. I said take Minnesota and the points vs. TCU. WINNER!
  24. How dare some of you criticize me for not listening to your stats of how crime is going down! I just read that this recent spat of murders in Chicago has set some kind of record with Wednesday being the deadliest day in 12 years with eight gun murders! Yeah, crime is really going down. Chicago is a damn warzone!!
  25. On the Democratic front, I saw an interview with Florina by Chris Matthews in which he was appalled Florina callled Hilary a liar. "I just find it amazing you would take this stance. If you have a debate with her as the Republican candidate would you just say you don't believe anything she says?" Listen, Chris ... she is a f***ing liar. She has lied about this email thing. Lies have been documented. Why in the hell is she our next president?? She's a confirmed liar. If this was a Republican, he'd be out of the race by now. The media would force him out over lying about the emails. Why oh why does the media have it their mission to make Hillary president? They should be on the Hillary payroll. You can't deny there's a double standard. Any Republican with documented lies??? Would be OUT of the race.
