  1. The problem is we in the interim 'add' your Lopezes, Phams, Maldys and the plethora of guys we've acquired to try in RF the past several seasons.
  2. I respect you for your consistent angst/anger/displeasure regarding Jerry. I do. I hope u respect my anger/angst/displeasure at this new Sox mandate of losing losing losing every year under the guise of a 'rebuild.' ... I'd buy into your JR argument, but he's had the best doctors in life. He may live 15 more years for gosh sakes.
  3. I wish we'd call this a tank/rebuild instead of just a rebuild. That way the horror of the next few seasons would be more fresh in our minds. I still shake my head at a rotation that includes Cease, Crochet, Thorpe, Fedde, Kopech, Schultz and the other minor leaguers. Robert as well as Quero and Montgomery, Ramos and Colas are ready to rake. But we already got rid of Cease and are about to strip Robert and /Crochet from the mix so we can keep taking/losing at least 2 more seasons. Fun times on the south side.
  4. At what point do we stop? When suddenly we have so much talent we win every game, every series? Let's say we trade Crochet for four Orioles prospects. Some of those guys may be close to being ready for the bigs, very close. So if one or two rake, do we then deal them for more prospects? Then if one of them excel, do we trade that guy? So suddenly the Sox are smarter than everybody and have acquired voila a WS dynasty? Oh wait, we had a chance to build on a great team in 2005 and did not.
  5. White Sox tanker Math (which by the way is loser mentality in life): Obtain/develop two of the best players/prospects in baseball (Crochet, Robert). Then get rid of them and field a team with a whole lotta Lopez'es, Maldy's and Phams.
  6. Chicken and egg theory. Seems to me the Sox are re$igned to never being elite again. Thank$ Jerry.
  7. The Royals put Bo Jackson in their Hall of Fame Saturday. Remember the days the Sox thought it important to sign Bo Jackson? A real star? Long gone. Now anybody good gets traded with apparently the goal many 100 loss seasons to come.
  8. I'll venture to say 90 percent of Sox fans consider it purposefully tanking for the future if Crochet is traded. Nobody cares about money. They just want to win.
  9. What's with the Sox pitching? It's become the best in the league over two weeks or so. Sox will have a lot of explaining to do if they don't get a total HAUL in return after trading all our starters soon. Sox pitching coach must be a whiz. Managerial candidate?
  10. Yeah I thought it too (watching replay as I don't watch the games this year with no mlbcom), but like I said, the 5 to 12 year old market ain't watching.
  11. But Lip Man, with Cease and Lopez and the current crop of starting pitchers (plus Quintana) we'd have a promising outlook for next season, assuming Jerry would pay just a bit for 2 everyday players. Is he that cheap he wouldn't take on ANY money at all?
  12. First of all I'm not offended by your mention of church which is kind of a non sequitir here. If that was a little shot, that's OK. You may have not meant it that way. I can take a little teasing if it was a little joke. You know what? I thought of the 'little kid' thing. And I could accept that argument that kids might like the growling in the call and screaming of 'adios.' Might even be educational if a 5-year-old wasn't familiar with 'adios.' HOWEVER I came to the conclusion on a bright summer day, nobody's watching or very few kids are watching (if they are indoors they are playing video games over White Sox baseball) the abysmal White Sox on TV versus the abysmal Rocks. So in short I can't accept the little kid argument. Besides announcers are supposed to be announcing for the beer demographic, 21 to 41. Even if he decided on his own to go for the 5 to 12 year olds, that'd be a good way to get fired. Not many 5 to 12s are watching MLB Sox style. Peace out.
  13. That call deserves some discussion. I tried, couldn't spark any. greg rarely gets outraged but the growling turned me into a critical madman.
  14. So you are kind of agreeing with me with the only holdup Jerry's wallet. Sad state of affairs Jerry won't even TRY to field a winner. I repeat my mantra: If this is the case fricking contract the team. Just move it to Tennessee. That state is growing, will sell out every game and that new owner will make a ton of $$. Sox get an expansion team bought by M. Cuban or Ice Cube or some foreign mogul.
  15. The growling was too much. The adios was not good according to my tastes but I could understand if he wanted to do 'adios' on Robert homers. The growling makes me speechless.
  16. I feel for Stoney. What can he do when his partner is completely grade-schoolish? No offense to Schriff. But why force it? Bennetti couldn't come up with a reasonable catch phrase so he just announced. Schriff's call was so silly I don't even know what to say.
  17. Ugh. Double ugh. What is going on with these announcers? Everybody wants a signature call I guess to put on Tshirts and monetize.
  18. To growl on the call was simply ... for gradeschoolers (who weren't watching/listening). The adios is simply too loud and the growling may have been the most embarrassing moment in Sox broadcast history. Agree?
  19. Modern baseball play by play quite different from the days of the pros like Caray, Brickhouse, Scully, Mathews. Denny Mathews of the Royals would rather be fired on the spot than make a silly call like this one. Listen to it and comment. I give the call a solid F.
  20. That'd be a good start to a T-shirt re. the Sox: Deadbeats and Buffoons. Catchy.
  21. Hmmm, a skeptic to all the tank nonsense might say the Sox have a few pieces to work with on the starting pitching side, albeit starting pitching now means 5 innings. Maybe spend a couple bucks and have a good staff next season? Nah, can't do that in the age of tank/rebuild. Got to make those trades cause of Jerry's wallet. ... Lot of bombs today against the inept Rockies. Sox finally playing a team they should boatrace at home and are doing so.
  22. I'm trying to figure out which players we are developing for Chicago and which we are developing for the trades. Are we trading tonight's starter? If we're trading Crochet don't see why tonight's starter would be safe. Now that it's obvious we're dealing Kopech, Getz better rob some team 3-4 fricking future starters either pitching or hitting or a combo of both. Kopech throws 100 consistently. A good organization should be able to turn him into Gossage. Getzie better win that trade!!!
  23. That's about right. A bad team should beat another equally bad team when at home. Thorpe looks good still. I wonder if we woulda lost if the Rocks would have thrown home on Lee's grounder. Good job by Lee nonetheless going that way and making it 3-2. This is gonna be Sox first or second sweep of the season. Sox swept the Rays I think.
  24. The Rockies are terrible. It's the heat of summer and Sox are at home. Big crowds probably for a carefree weekend. First Sox sweep of the season? Go big or go home. Bet.The.House.Baby. And our new stud pitcher is going tonight with more to follow. This is the type of series to judge a Pedro on. Teams of equally horrible talent.
  25. I can see why they'd want Kopech added. In terms of sheer prospects (where they got drafted) that is highway robbery on the Sox part. There's no way in hell I'd make that deal if I were the Orioles. Maybe Crochet and Kopech for that foursome. I still wouldn't do that if I were Baltimore. If they were to be negotiating with those top draft picks I'd say I want Robert/Crochet and go from there. Maybe add one more player if I'm Baltimore.
