  1. That's why I'm wondering why all of a sudden there's talk of a HUGE TV contract coming for WNBA. CC can only play in so many games. I guess whoever buys the rights will just show 90 percent Fever games and CC will be on pretty much 9 of 10 games. p.s. Have you seen how many inside shots are missed in women's basketball since the women don't dunk except on rare breakaways? If CC isn't playing is attendance actually up or not? In non CC games in arenas.
  2. For the record, please do not trade Crochet or Robert. You can build teams around these guys. They've done it and will do it. Trade Pham and DeJong and Maldy and Fedde and those guys. Please get rid of Beni.
  3. Is Robert that injury prone? Don't you feel as if his injuries are more legit than Eloy's? Robert isn't an injury waiting to happen is he? Eloy is.
  4. You ain't seen nothin yet til you look at next year's roster. It'll be even worse.
  5. Three hits won't cut it. Embarrassing. At least Cannon looked amazing. Is he supposed to be this good? Sox have lost what? 16 of 17?
  6. I wouldn't mind watching one game. Anywhere i can get it free?
  7. Maybe Nicky wants to be a manager or coach someday. He's one of those players who is a dime a dozen and not really valuable. So study the game and manage someday?
  8. The Sox have lost 15 of 16 right? We're experiencing unprecedented failure.
  9. Hank, I do want our prospects to do well when they come up. As far as the team, we're so far out of it I kind of get a sick delight when the Sox lose. I mean truly any win we get is meaningless. However I want the young guys with a future to do well. And an older guy like Pham and even DeJong. His power surge has been interesting. DeJong might be our all star representative if not Crochet. I did not realize Robert's BA was so low.
  10. u shoulda went and bought a jacket for 300 bucks in the gift shop. kidding.
  11. That's one of my favorite posts ever. Very informative even only a one-game sample size. ... Alarming about nobody except Lee talking to our pitcher. Very very sad. Also funny that you talked to so many players. That's funny you heckled some of them. Very alarming about Robert having no friends on the team. Says a lot about our team's lousy culture. Sounds like a rude dugout if they yelled at you for your one comment on pulling the ball. Obviously they don't like fans much. Did u laugh when we blew the lead again?
  12. Bullpen ... historically bad. Starting pitcher: he did well. Next game will tell me more. He'll be relaxed. I'm surprised some of the stat people on the site aren't alarmed that he's not a flamethrower. I guess he has a good changeup at least that's what they showed on the mlb highlights.
  13. I'm tending to think it's the $$. He makes a good buck and Jerry seems to enjoy hoarding money while not freaking out about all the losing.
  14. Should be interesting to see how NBC handles coverage of men's and women's Olympic bball. The men's tournament includes a lot of NBA players not only on Team USA (LeBron LeBron LeBron mania means TV dollars) but other teams and all those games will have to be shown in their entireity. So do you think NBC will go for equity and cover the women's team just as much as the men this year at the Games? Or do you think NBC, upset at the loss of ratings by a stupid decision to keep CC off the team, will essentially boycott coverage of the women? I say equity wins and the women will have unprecedented coverage at the Games. Also there will be no discussion of CC outside of pregame coverage of game one.
  15. Hate to say this but this Clark/WNBA/Olympic Game fiasco makes me wonder how brain deficient many people are in this country. 1.) CC joins the league and immediately the players get to board charter flights instead of the dreaded commercial. Do the jealous WNBA players who reap this benefit deny that the charter flights are 100 percent because of CC? They were not going to switch to charter before she joined the league. ... Are the WNBA players, who make mere pennies compared to players in the NBA that dumb to realize their checks can only go up as crowds and TV deals go up? Is jealousy that rampant it wipes out common sense?? The more popular CC gets the more money is tossed my way? We've learned either the WNBA players are brain deficient or jealousy is more powerful emotion than desire for cold, hard cash. 2.) Virtually everybody outside of USA Basketball and the jealous WNBA has said it's downright dumb to not have CC on the Olympic team for myriads of reasons mostly involving $$ (jersey sales, media interest, etc). So they keep her off the team. Again, I guess we've learned jealousy trumps $$ in that world. All the commentators are aghast at keeping her off the team. Pure jealousy of the players to refuse to let their league grow by the people's choice, the Taylor Swift of women's hoops (little girls just love CC the role model) being allowed on Team USA. Sad. Sad Sad. Let the league grow.
  16. Are the Sox trading Robert because he makes a good salary? Are the Sox that desperate for working cash? Sad that most of the fanbase is probably OK with trading him. Seems that way.
  17. Is Thorpe the next Jack McDowell? Give him two starts before you develop an impression of him. Give him a break, folks if he doesn't excel the first outing. Why has he been traded twice? Did the Yanks not like his velocity?
  18. I say we trade them Lopez and DeJong for Madrigal. He belongs in a Sox jersey.
  19. If they trade all those guys fans need to just treat the Sox like a minor league team the rest of their lives (at MLB prices though). It'll be apparent even more than now that this is just a (bad) entertainment option not a competitive team and has ZERO chance of ever winning anything of note again. Just go to the game as if it was a minor league game, not caring who wins, just a (bad) entertainment option for a summer night. Flipping everybody will accomplish nothing except show us even moreso this is not a real sports team it's a once-in-summertime entertainment option or something to watch on TV when utterly bored of movies, talk shows.
  20. Looks like the Sox are serious about not wanting to break the all time record for losses. They've been making a lot of moves, albeit some (many) forced by injuries. If this guy is good and pitches well he could add some excitement along with Crochet, Robert, Fedde, Pham, last night's starter.
  21. Kopech is as bad a reliever as the Sox have had in a while. And Leasure is overrated apparently. He's been pathetic. Tonight was another game that proves there always will be one aspect of the game that prevents victory. Tonight the starting pitching was A-plus, the hitting and defense were good nuff. But the bullpen was an F-minus and that's the ballgame. Of course I heard on the radio Sox rank last in pitching (I think it's ERA) and last in BA. Way to put together a roster. You'd think they want to lose, wink wink, tank, tank.
  22. That's what I said too. Read your comment now. U were first.
  23. Well that was revolting. Again, it's tough to blow a 4-0 lead in the eighth. Good luck to whichever team wants Kopech. And Leasure probably has lost trade value. Looks like he's throwing meat up there. Julks and Robert had nice games for all the trade lovers.
  24. Sox would have more than the one lone, everything went right that 05 postseason title if they had never got rid of Dombroski. I'd go with the Sox as one of the three worst franchises in all of sports today, arguably the worst.
  25. Those 3 Blackhawk titles were fun. It was great to have Crawford in goal. Seems to me if you don't have a super goaltender u ain't winning squat. As far as the White Sox it's quite difficult to put together a team this awful. And it's not like the Sox are gonna get the No. 1 pick the next few years with the change to that rule. That's hilarious in itself. The Sox can't even time their tanking correctly. Just think if the Sox could get the No. 1 pick the next few years. "Some" fans would be in nirvana year after year. Some of our fans have bought into this tanking thing being a good thing. I'm a little surprised Jerry has gone along with it. I guess he's won enough titles and now it's only about making sure his grandkids and great grandkids are multi millionaires. In any other business Robert and Crochet would be seen as must-keep assets. In Sox business they must be traded. Crazy world. That's why I'm in favor of contracting the Sox. See if Chicago can get an expansion team.
