Benintendi hurts himself on a HR, going to IL, Colas up
Another injury. I hope Colas does well. Another guy who could add a spark maybe. Beni should consider retiring. Last at bat a home run is poetic.

Does anyone in theSox organization feels embarrassed or have any pride in their work?
Not in this era. Since teams adopted tanking there's much less outrage and no embarrassment. They can pretend it's all part of the plan and there's a segment of the fan base that loves gutting a roster then waiting for the mysterious young guys to emerge. The real key to winning? Have an owner with ego AND with $$ to back it up. Have a mixture of free agent stars (Harper types) to go with younguns (Robert types, Tatis, Sale when we traded him). Let's face it. We're one of those teams (Sixers) that don't mind losing.

June 1 game thread Sox @Milwaukee 3:10 first pitch
It's like the Sox will never have strong everyday players again. For years we got spoiled always having a star or two. Your Venturas and Big Hurts, Fisks, Baines, etc. down the line. Sad.

June 1 game thread Sox @Milwaukee 3:10 first pitch
The Sox actually wouldn't be a bad bet with the new Vegas bet where you can bet a team will be up by two runs in a game. Automatically win if you bet the team will lead by two and it leads by two. Once again today Sox led by two. Close game. Another loss. Oz had a good rant about analytics on pregame I saw on social media. Love me some Oz. I hate Sabes.

Schriffen says he was aiming at “Sportscasters”
I don't watch any games (thanks Jerry for ruining a lifelong fan's fandom) but it sounds like this guy is disgraceful compared to what we're used to: Harry, Hawk, Benetti, Farmer and Darrin Jackson. And of course the great Stoney. He certainly doesn't need any catch phrases for this woebegone team.

June 1 game thread Sox @Milwaukee 3:10 first pitch
This one depends on Milwaukee. If the Brewers are fired up and want to win they will win probably get to our bullpen, 7-1. If they are bored by the opponent, Sox always have a chance when Crochet is on the mound. Would help if he could go 7 instead of 5 1/3 though. I would suggest the losing streak continues but I'd probably bet the under more than bet the house on the mere result today.

**Movies that we Watch** Thread
Kingdom of Planet of the Apes was horrific. Second worst movie I've ever seen. I was worried when I heard the people in charge of the last 3 Ape movies which I just loved were not involved with this project. At one point I nodded off for five minutes. The movie was sophomoric compared to the genius of the last 3 Ape movies. The ending of this movie was disgusting in its raw stupidity and simplicity compared to the utter genius endings of the other Ape movies. Sickening. Was thinking of jumping back on the horse and going to Fall Guy. Should I? Is it good or just OK?

The Death March Moves to Milwaukee: 5/31 Sox @ Brew Crew 7:10 CDT
Can you imagine if Oz or LaRussa was managing this team? Both guys have won World Championships thus would likely have said some interesting stuff after some of these losses. I don't think all these trades the Sox allegedly are going to make will assure anything close to a competitive team in 2025. Season ticket holders must have rocks in their head. When your slugger is named Paul DeJong it's time to reassess your fandom.

The Death March Moves to Milwaukee: 5/31 Sox @ Brew Crew 7:10 CDT
Just watched the highlights on free mlb.com. My gawd the Sox starter wasn't excellent but the relievers got waxed. Again, when you are bad at all phases of the game, at least one area will cost you the game almost every night or 8 out of 10 nights. Brewers played like a real team with all those line smash hits. Pretty much a butt kicking. Another lopsided loss.

My point though is anybody can do that. No need to pay an ace. Pedestrian numbers.

2024 MLB News not AL Central related
Bear with me as I say NO PITCHERS are worth hefty contracts anymore. NONE of them. Cease tonight goes 5 1/3 gives up three earned runs. Strikes out five, walks one. Big deal. These guys if they can only pitch 5 should be paid squat. They are just a dime a dozen folks. Now the old days, eight innings or 8 1/3? Yeah pay them.

Luis Robert right hip flexor injury
A novel concept might be having some experts get with him and figure out how to eliminate all these injuries. You just know he's gonna rip a hammy hustling on the basepaths like Eloy when he comes back.

The Death March Moves to Milwaukee: 5/31 Sox @ Brew Crew 7:10 CDT
Early June night. Big crowd. Road game. Horrific lineup. Folks ... it's time u take my advice. There's no reason we should beat the Brewers tonight. Bet.The.House is my recommendation. Don't blame me if I'm wrong but it has to be another plus.250 to .350 game tonight. You'll have to bet big to win anything of note.

Ramos optioned to AAA, corresponding move before Friday's game
Ramos has pathetic stats after a quick start. Makes me sad. He's got some work to do like most of the Sox players.

You Can't Make This Up....
One of the worst acquisitions in modern Sox history. Can't hit.

Guess Trade Values of Sox Starters
Why do so many think we have a lot of tradeable players? Looking at the Sox 40 man, here are the only tradeable guys that anybody might want: Crochet - yes Sox probably will get some top prospects for him. Better pick the right ones. Kopech - Dream on for getting anybody good, but somebody would probably want him. Leasure - Yes. Somebody will want him but will we get anybody better than Leasure in return? Doubtful. That's it for pitchers. Nobody else will be desired including Fedde, Clevinger, Banks, Flexen, Brebbia, Soroka, Pastrami. Everyday players: Pham might bring a prospect or two, possibly not though. Robert: Would probably bring a haul like Crochet. Eloy - I'll say nobody wants him at this stage. DeJong - Maybe somebody will take him for some stiff Class A player but I doubt it. He's no good. Moncada - Doubt any team is dumb enough to take him but maybe get a non prospect or two for him. Nobody wants Andrew or Sheets or Beni. Nobody wants Julks or Maldy or Colas. So in conclusion: Yeah you'll get some fine prospects for Crochet and Robert and maybe Leasure. That's it though. And the loss of those two will help the Sox in their quest for 45 wins in 2025. The only plan I see in this organization is for some sick reason wanting to be out of the race by the end of April every year.

Rooting against the Sox
There's no reason to cheer for the Sox on a given night. I mean when your SS is DeJong and 2B is Lopez and 1B is automatic out Vaughn and catcher is the worst in all of baseball and the outfield is a bucket of spam led by .200 Beni, yes you can't cheer for this club. And maybe actively root for losses.

5/29 Sox Vs. Jays 6:40PM CT
How much you wanna bet there were fewer than 2,000 fans there tonight. I'd bet the house there were just over 1000 fans there. Geez.

5/29 Sox Vs. Jays 6:40PM CT
This was another really bad loss. What'd we get four hits this time? What the heck is goin on? The spark the Sox had during the 8-6 run has worn off. Looks like our lineup is totally anemic like it was pre-Pham, Ramos and Mendick. Jays are yet another team to save their season by mopping up on the Sox. Last two losses suggest the team has already thrown in the towel. Can u imagine the Sox clubhouse the last 2 seasons? Must be funeral-like in there. Absolutely no hope when the team shows up,

I see the Astros have called up Abreu. How come so many players are losing the ability to hit at age 37? It used to be guys could hit until 40 or so (Fisk and that generation).

Rooting against the Sox
We only hate all those things since they let Renteria go. We are not MLB worthy the last few years. The team they put together for this season was an insult to our intelligence. We all knew this was an abysmal team in January.

5-28, Toronto @ Sox 640CDT
That game was one of the worst of the season for Chicago. Sox were never in the game against a mediocre team and it was boring according to the box score. If Nicky keeps hitting I may have to take back all my negative comments. The numbers don't lie and he's at .250 BA. Still don't like him being on the team though.
-
5-28, Toronto @ Sox 640CDT
Woodford needs to be relieved by Bernstein ASAP. Surprised we can't seem to win home games any more. The Jays are not a good team.
-
Story on Sox trade possibilities...
Jake Burger is having a rotten season. Four homers. BA under .200. Tim Anderson with six RBI all season. Sox could prolly acquire both for very little in return.

5/27 GT
Nrockway my only beef is I've heard him get all excited about a run scoring double or homer when the game is completely out of reach or the team is in some ridiculous losing streak. Enthusiasm is fine but when the team is this bad it's silly to celebrate wildly run scoring doubles or homers. ... Also our team has a history of non homer announcers: Harry, Piersall, Stoney, Hawk for sure. These guys were entertaining yet blasted the team for sorry play. You can't act all excited when a homer cuts the gap to 4-1 in the eighth and the team is blazing toward yet another loss.
