Fire Pedro Grifol
Beni is a sub par hitter. He's a 3 out of 10 and that's being nice.

Fire Pedro Grifol
I don't know why they'd even ask about the fans. Nobody could be expected to pay to watch this crap more than once a season. Of course Sox fans know the game of baseball. Dumb topic. A team this bad doesn't deserve more than 10,000 a night.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
When Jerry dies I wouldn't be surprised if baseball contracts the White Sox and grants an expansion team to somebody. Quite frankly which demographics would miss the White Sox? With the team looking like an unmitigated disaster for years to come, I don't think many people would cause a stink if baseball contracted the Sox and let another city have a team. The neighborhood of Comiskey isn't going to be affected. And Chicago has the Cubs which has an entirely different fanbase. The Sox don't have many fans and the ones they do have are miserable anyway over this inept franchise. I wonder if the legislature saves the day with the Sox included in the Bears stadium area plans. They could save the day if they build a baseball palace.

Schriffen says he was aiming at “Sportscasters”
Yep, those days are over of 'combat' sports writing. Teams have won that war. Most outlets are full of young kids (not all, but most) especially mlb.com and they don't have the knowledge or clout to fire away at managers, owners, etc. Sox beat still has some veteran reporters like Sullivan, etc. I believe but it's a different era. Short stories designed to get clicks and not much of the old fashioned ripping of the team.

Schriffen says he was aiming at “Sportscasters”
I think he may be 'fibbing.' I know the Royals fans and their broadcasters were not mocking the Sox but acting like the Sox were a real team to justify KC excitement over winning 6 of 7 vs. Chicago. Ditto the Twins announcers that one game I heard on the radio. They were lamenting how good the Sox were in the 60s when the announcer was a kid. ... That's OK. He came up with a good explanation. All forgiven.

5/20 2:07 CDT Sox @ Toronto
And yes batting Vaughn second is a fireable offense even with few lineup options to consider.

5/20 2:07 CDT Sox @ Toronto
If we lose 10-13 in a row we could be back to hoping Pedro gets the proverbial axe. Like I said 'excitement' from the Pham/Ramos/Mendick/Clevinger additions and DeJong/Lee revival is pretty much gone. Sox need to do something to get the .460 juices rolling again not the lose 8-9 of every 10 juices.

5/20 2:07 CDT Sox @ Toronto
Man, Sox are back in the dregs of the league category. Well we rode Pham's hot streak for a while. Time to rest him two games a week. Vaughn after that two HR game is back in the tank. DeJong busts loose. We pretty much got raced by a better team. Sox are 4-20 on the road which is almost an automatic loss every night. 10-14 at home not gawd awful. Looks like we've come down to earth after the 8-6 run; should be interesting. All facets of the game are currently failing, especially the hitting.

I don't expect it to happen, but......
Playoffs? OMG. An historically bad season is still in play. A merely embarrassing season (106 losses) is still in play. Playoffs are not in play!

Brad Keller DFA
Thank goodness. Acquiring him is a HUGE fireable offense. Getz should be truly embarrassed thinking this guy should be on the roster. Thank gawd he gawn.

5/19 Sox @ Yankees 12:35PM CT
I'll admit I was hopeful when I saw his bio. First round pick, etc. He blew chunks. Just get him out of the entire organization. He is another bust in a very difficult sport to master.

5/19 Sox @ Yankees 12:35PM CT
It's the new normal. Just pretend things are great in all aspects of the world including our fave baseball team. It's laughable to do the 'party is started' line at 18 under .500 like u say.
-
5/19 Sox @ Yankees 12:35PM CT
Six hits from the offense; Flexen getting rocked. Yanks enjoying mopping up the White Sox. Should be interesting to see if the Sox start plunging. The addition of Julks should be sparking the team. One through four in the order today was laughable. In today's lineup Vaughn, Remillard, Maldonado don't belong in the bigs. DeJong is back in a slump at .230.

5/18- Sox at Yankees, 12:05
I hear you but you have to admit the offense has actually been OK (before this series) since Getz acquired Pham, Mendick rejoined the team and Ramos was brought up. I think the 3 starters are OK: Crochet (A plus), Clevinger (B) and Fedde (B plus).

5/18- Sox at Yankees, 12:05
Vaughn needs a change of scenery to give his career one last chance. Wish the Sox would release him and do him a solid. Eloy obviously is what he is: A .240 hitter (remember I am not a statnik so I go by the old stats) with between 11 and 27 homers and about 72 RBI. And he's an injury risk.
-
5/18- Sox at Yankees, 12:05
I think Mendick will start hitting again. He's somewhat hitterish. Ramos I pray starts hitting again. Hate to have him be a bust. Pham is a delight.

5/18- Sox at Yankees, 12:05
Well, the fact Keller started today made this one an automatic loss. As much as I like to talk about the improvement Sox have made post-Pham and Mendick and Ramos, the boys don't stand much of a chance against a real team. They need to DFA Keller though. .... Schedule makers didn't do us any favors. Sox have been hot only to have to go to NYC to play the $$$-ridden Yankees.

White Sox vs. New York Starr Insurance - 5/17, 6:05 PM first pitch
Glad to see Julks is playing right away. Getz continues to make little moves.

White Sox vs. New York Starr Insurance - 5/17, 6:05 PM first pitch
You have to give credit to greg for only giving gambling advice when I have a strong feeling. I do not have such a feeling on this one despite the Yankees obviously being a much better team. If a gun was put to my head and I had to gamble I'd say bet the Yankees. You'd have to bet big though to win any sustainable cash as the Yanks are probably minus 360 or so.

That player's saga is disappointing. His career has to be over. Baseball is a cruel game.

What can we dream on for Fedde?
I'm trying to win now in spite of bad ownership, a bad manager and possibly a bad GM. Trading our only good players in coming weeks is a recipe for another 50 win season. Why would anybody want that? It's embarrassing and ridiculous way to run a team. Why give up when Jerry could live another 10-15 years with modern medicine.
-
Paul Skenes
Is he a six inning wonder or can he go deep in games? How embarrassing for the game of baseball that he has to be removed from game in the sixth when he has a no hitter and 11 Ks. Bob Gibson and Tom Seaver would be laughing when the manager removed them from such a game. Or fuming and punching coolers one of the two. Kudos to the talented pitcher but shame on you baseball for what you've done to the great game with all the coddling.
-
What can we dream on for Fedde?
You and I think the same way. We are in the minority on this site. Seems to me our fans are in love with the unknown. They want to flip just about everybody and guess what, if that happens, we win 40-50 games again next season with no guarantee the prospects we acquire will succeed. Can't believe the smart fans on here are falling for the tank again. Maybe the Sox can just tank from now through eternity and ultimately one of the 5 year tank processes will work.

White Sox acquire Corey Julks from HOU for RHP Luis Rodriguez, option to AAA, recall Dom Fletcher, Ortega DFA'd
I like the trade. Let's see if Getz magic touch for everyday players (Pham) continues with this guy. If this guy hits a batch of homers that'll be very welcome. Hopefully they put him on the big league roster rite away. I like it. Cause Mendick was hitting before he got hurt; Pham has been a godsend, small g, and Ramos is dandy.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
You forgot Cease. I was not in favor of trading him. Add Cease to that rotation mentioned here? Cmon. It's contention worthy. The only thing that screws up my assertion is the ridiculous innings limit on Crochet.
