I hear you but you have to admit the offense has actually been OK (before this series) since Getz acquired Pham, Mendick rejoined the team and Ramos was brought up. I think the 3 starters are OK: Crochet (A plus), Clevinger (B) and Fedde (B plus).

Vaughn needs a change of scenery to give his career one last chance. Wish the Sox would release him and do him a solid. Eloy obviously is what he is: A .240 hitter (remember I am not a statnik so I go by the old stats) with between 11 and 27 homers and about 72 RBI. And he's an injury risk.

I think Mendick will start hitting again. He's somewhat hitterish. Ramos I pray starts hitting again. Hate to have him be a bust. Pham is a delight.

Well, the fact Keller started today made this one an automatic loss. As much as I like to talk about the improvement Sox have made post-Pham and Mendick and Ramos, the boys don't stand much of a chance against a real team. They need to DFA Keller though. .... Schedule makers didn't do us any favors. Sox have been hot only to have to go to NYC to play the $$$-ridden Yankees.

You have to give credit to greg for only giving gambling advice when I have a strong feeling. I do not have such a feeling on this one despite the Yankees obviously being a much better team. If a gun was put to my head and I had to gamble I'd say bet the Yankees. You'd have to bet big though to win any sustainable cash as the Yanks are probably minus 360 or so.

That player's saga is disappointing. His career has to be over. Baseball is a cruel game.

I'm trying to win now in spite of bad ownership, a bad manager and possibly a bad GM. Trading our only good players in coming weeks is a recipe for another 50 win season. Why would anybody want that? It's embarrassing and ridiculous way to run a team. Why give up when Jerry could live another 10-15 years with modern medicine.

Is he a six inning wonder or can he go deep in games? How embarrassing for the game of baseball that he has to be removed from game in the sixth when he has a no hitter and 11 Ks. Bob Gibson and Tom Seaver would be laughing when the manager removed them from such a game. Or fuming and punching coolers one of the two. Kudos to the talented pitcher but shame on you baseball for what you've done to the great game with all the coddling.

You and I think the same way. We are in the minority on this site. Seems to me our fans are in love with the unknown. They want to flip just about everybody and guess what, if that happens, we win 40-50 games again next season with no guarantee the prospects we acquire will succeed. Can't believe the smart fans on here are falling for the tank again. Maybe the Sox can just tank from now through eternity and ultimately one of the 5 year tank processes will work.

I like the trade. Let's see if Getz magic touch for everyday players (Pham) continues with this guy. If this guy hits a batch of homers that'll be very welcome. Hopefully they put him on the big league roster rite away. I like it. Cause Mendick was hitting before he got hurt; Pham has been a godsend, small g, and Ramos is dandy.

You forgot Cease. I was not in favor of trading him. Add Cease to that rotation mentioned here? Cmon. It's contention worthy. The only thing that screws up my assertion is the ridiculous innings limit on Crochet.

That's what they said in 77 when Soderholm, Spencer, Garr, Gamble, Zisk made for a delightful summer of love in Comiskey. I'm one of those losers who believes you win the division and anything can happen in the playoffs. With my scenario, our pitching staff and defense would likely be good nuff to perhaps dominate October. Just my take.

Lip. I love your knowledge. Little surprised at your take here. Clevinger, Crochet, Fedde, Cease and Lynn/ J-Lo is a division winning rotation. Kopech is MLB caliber reliever. Yes Sox would have needed 2 additional relievers who actually are serviceable not like the stiffs on this team. Lineup: Mendick and Pham and Ramos and Lee have done wonders for the lineup which started the season worst in baseball history maybe. DeJong has been better than expected. Get rid of Maldy and Lopez and acquire Pham types and this team coulda vied for the division title. Now everybody wants the Sox to trade any and everybody on the roster that is moveable. So the Sox get 5-10 new players who you hope will develop and in 3-4 years help team win the WS. That is as laughable as my suggestions which also could field a division winner. Don't understand, Lip, why you think the Sox didn't have a path to the division title with evidence my above mentioned comments. Why do you guys who want to dump players want to tank/rebuild when it didn't work last time? We have proof right here tanking is ridiculous, the failed White Sox experiment.

Baseball truly is a crazy game. The White Sox are just a couple key players from being a contender this season. Too bad it took Getz a month to wake up and Pedro some time to get a clue. Great victory. I loves me some Pham. Since he got to the clubhouse the team has been playing contender-like baseball, as good as any Central team. Poor Vaughn is a headcase. I hate babying Crochet. Is it proven that if you suddenly pitch a lot of MLB innings your arm is doomed to surgery? It seems it's doomed to multiple surgeries anyway. He is special. Go back five or so years and this was the common post from those who loved tanking/rebuilding. I stuck to my guns and said I would have preferred keeping Sale and trying to win the traditional way. Trading anybody worthy of being on a MLB roster MAY or MAY NOT help this team in 3-4 seasons. I see no need to trade everybody with a pulse and again open 3-24 next season and have the season be over before school lets out. There was a time everybody was excited about TA, Eloy, Moncada. Championship caliber players to build around following a tank job. Didn't work. I'll keep Sale any day.

Is Fedde the guy who pitched overseas last year? Is he good? If he is we got 3 good starters. This team is not that far away from competing if they got 3 good starters. By my count we only got one good reliever though. Kudos to Pedro for not benching Vaughn in game two. Those 2 homers have to help his confidence some. If he'd been benched we woulda got swept and he'd be despondent over his badness in game one. Nice catch by DeJong. Kind of weird we're playing way better without Robert and Moncada. It'd sure help the team if Mendick was healthy.

That one game I saw a picture of this year there weren't 200 people there.

I wish somebody would count the actual amount of people at games where it's obvious under 1,000 are there. I'm assuming nobody is there on a Tuesday afternoon supporting our lousy team.

If Sox can sweep the Nationals on Tuesday they officially are merely a bad team, not historically bad. If the Sox get swept, that is really gonna be deflating and could lead to another bad losing streak. If the Sox split, it means nothing. Just my takes.
