AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
This proves when you make a change that's significant it helps any kind of team initially. Pham and Mendick's presence has vitalized the team. It's similar to if they had axed Pedro we prolly woulda seen the same jolt of energy in the club. Sox will come down to earth soon nuff, but will Pham's presence assure Sox of only losing 100 or so games instead of something wild like 120? Pham is definitely the man. That was a nice swing by Beni on the game-winning HR. He did the lift and pull uppercut. If he does that more and more, he'll hit his share of HRs still this season.

WHITE SOX WINNER!
Pham is pham-tastic. I got all sorts of banner ideas for little kids if they dare go to see this fairly pathetic team at G-Rate Field. As hi8is said: Pham Bam Thank You Ma'am Pham no flash in Pan Pham is Da Man Hot Damn His Name is Pham Pham Can.

Getz Grilled by Media
I don't wanna watch the interview as it'll just make me mad. Same with Howard Stern's interview with a certain celeb today. Don't need to get all upset. It is what it is. At least Sox signed Pham and called up Mendick. Both can hit .250 and knock in a few runs and/or score a few runs I bet. Our new starting pitcher will be here soon as well. That's 3 players better than anybody else we got (maybe Eloy is the real deal and there's a chance Vaughn could heat up with the weather.

4/26- Rays at Sox, 6:40, AppleTV
Wow. Well I will say in a week we have improved our club with Pham and Mendick. Both suddenly seem as important to the Sox as Ruth and Gehrig to the Yanks bak in the day. Folks I am confident we can win about 40 games this season with an offense that may get a little better. Still not out of the 30s yet but 40 wins is possible. Pham baby. Like I said Wham, slam, thank you Pham!

Pham up, Pillar out
This is the Richie Zisk (pitch at risk to Rich Zisk) signing revisited. Sox are gonna start mashing with Wham Bam Pham! Marketing should go nuts. There's now a reason to come out to the park once every six days: to see Pham and Crochet. Wins are comin' just wait n see."

4-25 Game thread Sox @ Twins, lucky #7? 12:10 CDT 1st pitch
Amen. MLB is a disgrace allowing this to happen. The Sox should be fined a LOT of money. This even affects MLB on the whole. Sox have completely turned Minnie's season around. They allowed KC to get off to a decent start. Maybe MLB wants/needs patsies to save other teams' seasons. I'm trying to learn more about the Cubs daily. They do have several players with a lot of RBIs and have major leaguers on their team. I assume they are selling out every game again and/or will be soon.

I don't even know if Ozzie would accept the job right now. If he did, he's nuts. He'd have to regularly speak with the GM and the assistant GM which would be annoying as heck. And he'd have to talk to Jerry once in a while which would be nightmarish. Also two media sessions on game day in which he'd be baited into blasting some of these players and their skills or lack thereof. Even an Ozzie lover like me would advise Ozzie to pass on this one if offered.

You guys that rooted for losses at the start of the first tank through the tank that got mad at me should have just waited a few years. Am I a bad fan for enjoying the losses? Just seeing how low we can go at 3-22 and counting? Since I don't buy mlb.com anymore and don't watch the games it's kinda humorous to see this historic ineptitude play out. Losses are almost like wins in my mind now. I wonder if next season will be just as bad or worse in April. 3-22 is pretty tough to match.

Hmm another 4-game sweep. Not easy to lose four in a row to the same team. This is a noble baseball experiment we're witnessing. When you have only 2 good starters (one hasn't arrived yet) and basically no good relievers (OK maybe one per given game out of five) and basically seven of nine hitters (on a given night) that don't belong on an MLB batters box, you figuratively will lose 9 of every 10 games. Defying the law of averages. Will somebody please tell me why no media member has gotten a comment from the commissioner's office about what's going on 35th St. and Shields? This is unacceptable. (Look at the Twins record before we came to town; we may have saved their season by gosh).

It was a great career, Jose, but what's up this season?
It's wild how guys are running out of gas more and more around 35-38. Hosmer retired this year and he's only 34. It's wild how 26-32 is about it for a ballplayer in terms of production. Julio Franco be darned.

4/24 - Good Guys @ Twins 6:40 CT - Crochet Vs. Ryan
Final point tonight: I was in the car tonight and listened to the final 2 innings on Sirius. The Twins announcers made it abundantly clear til this series Minnie was looking like a pretty pedestrian team (small crowds too). Sox as they did to Kansas City have rejuvenated the Twins a bit. I wouldn't be shocked if Minnie takes all four this series even tho the law of averages once again is on our side. Greg predicts an 11-2 type Twins win tomorrow (if u were smart u'd bet the house on Chicago since my predictions usually reek).

Kopech isn't exactly the second coming of Dennis Eckersley is he? Seems to me he fires a lot of meatballs that get smashed over the fence.

I know Crochet is great but his lines often aren't that spectacular.

It was a great career, Jose, but what's up this season?
Jose Abreu is 4-for-62 with one RBI. Must be frustrating for Jose. U think if this keeps up he'll hang 'em up? Of course he's always started slowly but yikes 4-for-62 is pretty Darin Erstad-ish. (forgive me for starting a new thread but with the Sox 3-21 I think you can forgive me. Not like there's much to discuss).

4/24 - Good Guys @ Twins 6:40 CT - Crochet Vs. Ryan
He's looked lost his entire tenure in Chicago though to be fair he did whack some gappers a year ago. But generally speaking he looks so pained at the plate.

Wow One of our two good pitchers (clevinger is the other) is going tonight so we could win. Still, that lineup ... oh baby does it reek.

Hawk speaks...
Disappointed in Stoney. He could just as easily had a twitter post succinctly saying this is the worst collection of talent he's ever seen and 3-20 is about right for this horrific team. p.s. kudos to Eloy for coming back so quickly. That surprised me. Then he stole second base so he's apparently trying to win and stay healthy both.

Hawk speaks...
Speaking of announcers, Stoney had a stupid twitter post today and I normally love Stoney. He posted something about getting through hard times like this shows how tough a player is, blah blah. Cmon Stoney, you know this team is an exception. No rah rah stuff here. Team has worst talent in team history and an astonishingly bad manager. Don't give us some dumb inspirational tweet, not about this team. And I repeat, I love Stone.

4/23 - Sox @ Twins 6:40 - Fedde vs. P. Lopez
They lost me in 2024. Haven't watched one inning. As a caveat though I have watched the game recaps on mlb.com.
-
4/23 - Sox @ Twins 6:40 - Fedde vs. P. Lopez
Sox are built to lose every single game. Because so many areas of weakness on a given night. Tonight, Fedde masterful, so the bullpen is horsebleep and we lose. Offense OK run-wise, five runs, BUT again bullpen this night horsebleep. It's always something. Mendick as expected is hitting. Maybe when Pham comes and Clevinger they can make us a 25-win team. But right now 10 wins by the all star break would be a shock. Folks the commish has to step in and reprimand the Sox for fielding this minor league team.
-
4/23 - Sox @ Twins 6:40 - Fedde vs. P. Lopez
Must be nice to be Nicky Lopez. Make good money. Get to lead off for a team in your hometown basically. No pressure to actually get a hit. Draw a few walks here and there, try to not make too many errors and enjoy a carefree summer since your team is expected to lose every night it takes the field. Good for him.

4/22: Sox @ Twins - 640CT - Cannon v. Paddack
Mailing it in in April is unbelievably sad. If they can pinpoint a guy mailing it in, just release him. Nobody's making real money anyway. Dump them for somebody who loves baseball. Anybody can hit .150 to .190.
-
4/22: Sox @ Twins - 640CT - Cannon v. Paddack
So Sox get one walk, strike out 12 times but get 8 hits. No runs. Ugh. What a historically bad team. Sox have been lousy at drawing walks for years it seems. Just pathetic at bats.

Who would you pick to replace Grifol? Outside the box answers only.
Good post Beast. I also thought of AJP immediately after Ozzie. ... But since the Sox already are not getting fined for making a mockery of baseball (all involved should be ASHAMED of this roster) I'd do something fun the rest of the year. Instead of a celebrity singing take me out to the ballgame, have a celebrity manager each series. Start with Steve Stone, then Big Hurt, then Obama, then Kathy Griffin, then Lori Lightfoot (Sox fan), then Brad Underwood, etc., down the line. It'd be fun. If Ozzie or AJP were willing they could sit in the dugout next to the guest manager and make sure they knew the rules, etc. Pay them a few bucks to help.

Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record
Jerry's lucky that the TV deals are still solvent. I thought I read somewhere ESPN wants no part of baseball in the future. It's very boring and ratings reek. Only thing saving the White Sox is the TV money and worth of the franchise when Jerry decides to sell. The Cell is going to be vacant this summer and people are going to learn they don't need White Sox baseball in the future and will elimininate it from their summer fun budget completely.
