  1. He's looked lost his entire tenure in Chicago though to be fair he did whack some gappers a year ago. But generally speaking he looks so pained at the plate.
  2. Wow One of our two good pitchers (clevinger is the other) is going tonight so we could win. Still, that lineup ... oh baby does it reek.
  3. Disappointed in Stoney. He could just as easily had a twitter post succinctly saying this is the worst collection of talent he's ever seen and 3-20 is about right for this horrific team. p.s. kudos to Eloy for coming back so quickly. That surprised me. Then he stole second base so he's apparently trying to win and stay healthy both.
  4. Speaking of announcers, Stoney had a stupid twitter post today and I normally love Stoney. He posted something about getting through hard times like this shows how tough a player is, blah blah. Cmon Stoney, you know this team is an exception. No rah rah stuff here. Team has worst talent in team history and an astonishingly bad manager. Don't give us some dumb inspirational tweet, not about this team. And I repeat, I love Stone.
  5. They lost me in 2024. Haven't watched one inning. As a caveat though I have watched the game recaps on mlb.com.
  6. Sox are built to lose every single game. Because so many areas of weakness on a given night. Tonight, Fedde masterful, so the bullpen is horsebleep and we lose. Offense OK run-wise, five runs, BUT again bullpen this night horsebleep. It's always something. Mendick as expected is hitting. Maybe when Pham comes and Clevinger they can make us a 25-win team. But right now 10 wins by the all star break would be a shock. Folks the commish has to step in and reprimand the Sox for fielding this minor league team.
  7. Must be nice to be Nicky Lopez. Make good money. Get to lead off for a team in your hometown basically. No pressure to actually get a hit. Draw a few walks here and there, try to not make too many errors and enjoy a carefree summer since your team is expected to lose every night it takes the field. Good for him.
  8. Mailing it in in April is unbelievably sad. If they can pinpoint a guy mailing it in, just release him. Nobody's making real money anyway. Dump them for somebody who loves baseball. Anybody can hit .150 to .190.
  9. So Sox get one walk, strike out 12 times but get 8 hits. No runs. Ugh. What a historically bad team. Sox have been lousy at drawing walks for years it seems. Just pathetic at bats.
  10. Good post Beast. I also thought of AJP immediately after Ozzie. ... But since the Sox already are not getting fined for making a mockery of baseball (all involved should be ASHAMED of this roster) I'd do something fun the rest of the year. Instead of a celebrity singing take me out to the ballgame, have a celebrity manager each series. Start with Steve Stone, then Big Hurt, then Obama, then Kathy Griffin, then Lori Lightfoot (Sox fan), then Brad Underwood, etc., down the line. It'd be fun. If Ozzie or AJP were willing they could sit in the dugout next to the guest manager and make sure they knew the rules, etc. Pay them a few bucks to help.
  11. Jerry's lucky that the TV deals are still solvent. I thought I read somewhere ESPN wants no part of baseball in the future. It's very boring and ratings reek. Only thing saving the White Sox is the TV money and worth of the franchise when Jerry decides to sell. The Cell is going to be vacant this summer and people are going to learn they don't need White Sox baseball in the future and will elimininate it from their summer fun budget completely.
  12. I wonder if we can beat Minnie. I think when we get Mendick, plus the slugger Pham and our new starting pitcher, it might result in a few wins. We'll have 2 1/2 reasonable starters plus a decent closer to go with the rejuvenated lineup.
  13. greg775 replied to Johno's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Man, Mendick, Lee and Pham give us hope (to storm past the 20 win mark eventually). Bring 'em in the lineup every day, baby.
  14. Just asking since I don't watch the games. Have no opinion on the lad either way.
  15. Nastrini's line today was horrid. Is he somebody to be concerned about? I mean that line is really really bad. With Mendick and Pham coming are better days ahead for the offense?
  16. So much for the b.s. spewed about improving the clubhouse culture this season. It's hard to only win three games out of how many the Sox have played. Law of averages suggests a few more wins than this, but this team is so bad it defies the law of averages.
  17. For those who follow spring training ... wasn't it evident from week one of spring training how bad a hitting team this would be? I woulda added Whit, Pham and plenty of other guys at that point not named DeJong, Lopez and Maldy when it was painfully obvious how bad this team would be.
  18. Good job by Dick Allen I think for first bringing up multiple no hitters this season. Or whomever brought it up. Any game Nicky Lopez is your leadoff hitter you deserve to get no hit. My gosh how embarrassing. A real team like the Phillies and we got zero chance. I'm surprised Vegas even makes odds for Sox games. Every night the Sox must be +350 or higher.
  19. Is Pham the new Richie Zisk of the franchise? Savior? HR after HR?
  20. Don't send him down, DFA him. Give him a chance to 'maybe' catch on with another team. Sending him to AAA would be so depressing. Release him for his own sake and the sake of anybody watching a Sox game. He is a wreck at the plate.
  21. I wonder if the Sox DFA'ed Vaughn anybody would even pick him up. I know he's a first round can't miss sensation but it's so painful to watch him bat that I can't imagine another team thrusting Vaughn upon their AAA manager. Is Vaughn close to being done? He's 11 for 69 with three RBI. My gosh. That's a .159 BA. He needs a change of scenery so bad. Please get rid of him, Getz.
  22. My gosh. Another shutout. I was in the car for the 9th inning and the Phils' announcers were 'funny.' They were not too high on the 7-0 win mentioning one could say the Phils were helped "by the competition tonight." Meaning the totally inept White Sox. So many hitters who have no chance. You know things are bad when Sheets, Vaughn and Eloy are our main guns. Wowsie.
  23. But will they buy tickets to gorge on pre game corned beef sandwiches, a mid game hot dog and/or pizza? With a beer or 2? Yumm.
  24. South ... do you guys now finally agree with greg that the start of the tank (during the Sale days when we dumped him) was one, horrific idea? Back then there was so much excitement about tanking. Greg was one of only a few to be appalled by the tank.
  25. Do you have good seats? I might want to come to a game this summer.
