  1. I think he's 7 hits in 77 at bats. Obviously he's pulling a Hosmer. Only solution, retirement. Like the Astro guy said he still has the bat speed. He's just like Vaughn though. A mess at the plate.
  2. This one really made me mad because it was as if a 3-game win streak in Pedro's mind had turned the Sox into an actual team. We need to win 19 in a row to even creep into contention. So he sits the guy responsible for the turnaround 3 games in. What a joke. I now am firmly in the fire Pedro corner. Disgusting decision to sit the new guy for rest purposes.
  3. Forgive me but I'm very upset. Grifol is a stooge. My gosh. So you go 3-0 with Pham and it's obvious Pham and Mendick are two guys who actually are worthy of a spot on the big league roster. So he rests Pham cause he had no spring training. Are you serious Grifol??? Your team has a chance to start winning some games and go from historically bad to just bad and you REST PHAM?? After three fricking games? That's what they said on the radio. He was rested tonight cause he had no spring training, You'd think Grifol would want to ride the hot bat and win a fourth in a row against a Minnie team that embarrased the Sox in Minnie. Instead they bench Pham and let him pinch hit once. This resting of players in the big leagues is a fricking joke. Thanks Pedro. You are a buffoon. I bet he was so proud of himself making sure to rest Pham after three games. Just resign. Three games and he's tired??? Gawd I'm angry.
  4. Twins are not a good team. Sox should continue their recent sizz tonight. My suggestion: Bet.The.House.
  5. Yeah but it seems to me some of these peeps on here are hoping the Sox trade anybody and everybody off this year's team who other teams might 'want.' If the Sox do so, we're not just talking a team that can't compete but again, a ridiculous 50-win type team. I mean is that what you want? 50 wins two years in a row or more? This is crazy IMO. At some point you can't tank every year in hopes young prospects we have and are to draft will lead us to greatness. At some point 50 wins is a total crime against MLB.
  6. Not to be a contrarian, but if the goal is to trade anybody with an MLB pulse at the deadline for prospects who are not near ready, won't next year's team on paper be just as miserable or worse than this year's squad? I mean if they trade any pitcher who is meh or better and Eloy (and Moncada) if Eloy keeps hitting, won't next year's team draw even fewer fans and interest than this year's? Oh well as you all know I don't value anybody on our current roster except Crochet, Clevinger, Kopech, Eloy (maybe), Robert and Pham and Mendick. Getting rid of all of them will leave the Sox mired in this disgusting swamp they are in now.
  7. No, it's embarrassing. These are the big leagues. The Sox have six wins. You don't scream this south side stand up when the team is this bad. It's minor league, that's all. I didn't like him calling out the 'haters' after Saturday's win either. Anybody have a copy of today's final out call? I don't watch games anymore so I need to find his yelling on the highlights.
  8. Nice to see them let Fedde go 108 pitches. When you pitch 3-5 relievers in a game it certainly hurts the White Sox.
  9. It's not that difficult. Add some guys who belong on a big league field and you'll win a few games even if the team is horsebleep. Before Pham and Mendick and the recent moves we had zero reason to be interested. Now it appears we're getting close to being just one of many bad teams in the league not historically bad.
  10. Cmon. We have more than a right to be 'haters.' Even though the Sox have woken up with Pham and Mendick and a decent starter who is on his way soon, the roster construction is beyond bad. He should be reprimanded for calling true fans haters. I mean, cmon. We haters still want the team to win. We are just appalled at this historically bad team. He must apologize.
  11. This proves when you make a change that's significant it helps any kind of team initially. Pham and Mendick's presence has vitalized the team. It's similar to if they had axed Pedro we prolly woulda seen the same jolt of energy in the club. Sox will come down to earth soon nuff, but will Pham's presence assure Sox of only losing 100 or so games instead of something wild like 120? Pham is definitely the man. That was a nice swing by Beni on the game-winning HR. He did the lift and pull uppercut. If he does that more and more, he'll hit his share of HRs still this season.
  12. Pham is pham-tastic. I got all sorts of banner ideas for little kids if they dare go to see this fairly pathetic team at G-Rate Field. As hi8is said: Pham Bam Thank You Ma'am Pham no flash in Pan Pham is Da Man Hot Damn His Name is Pham Pham Can.
  13. I don't wanna watch the interview as it'll just make me mad. Same with Howard Stern's interview with a certain celeb today. Don't need to get all upset. It is what it is. At least Sox signed Pham and called up Mendick. Both can hit .250 and knock in a few runs and/or score a few runs I bet. Our new starting pitcher will be here soon as well. That's 3 players better than anybody else we got (maybe Eloy is the real deal and there's a chance Vaughn could heat up with the weather.
  14. Wow. Well I will say in a week we have improved our club with Pham and Mendick. Both suddenly seem as important to the Sox as Ruth and Gehrig to the Yanks bak in the day. Folks I am confident we can win about 40 games this season with an offense that may get a little better. Still not out of the 30s yet but 40 wins is possible. Pham baby. Like I said Wham, slam, thank you Pham!
  15. This is the Richie Zisk (pitch at risk to Rich Zisk) signing revisited. Sox are gonna start mashing with Wham Bam Pham! Marketing should go nuts. There's now a reason to come out to the park once every six days: to see Pham and Crochet. Wins are comin' just wait n see."
  16. Amen. MLB is a disgrace allowing this to happen. The Sox should be fined a LOT of money. This even affects MLB on the whole. Sox have completely turned Minnie's season around. They allowed KC to get off to a decent start. Maybe MLB wants/needs patsies to save other teams' seasons. I'm trying to learn more about the Cubs daily. They do have several players with a lot of RBIs and have major leaguers on their team. I assume they are selling out every game again and/or will be soon.
  17. I don't even know if Ozzie would accept the job right now. If he did, he's nuts. He'd have to regularly speak with the GM and the assistant GM which would be annoying as heck. And he'd have to talk to Jerry once in a while which would be nightmarish. Also two media sessions on game day in which he'd be baited into blasting some of these players and their skills or lack thereof. Even an Ozzie lover like me would advise Ozzie to pass on this one if offered.
  18. You guys that rooted for losses at the start of the first tank through the tank that got mad at me should have just waited a few years. Am I a bad fan for enjoying the losses? Just seeing how low we can go at 3-22 and counting? Since I don't buy mlb.com anymore and don't watch the games it's kinda humorous to see this historic ineptitude play out. Losses are almost like wins in my mind now. I wonder if next season will be just as bad or worse in April. 3-22 is pretty tough to match.
  19. Hmm another 4-game sweep. Not easy to lose four in a row to the same team. This is a noble baseball experiment we're witnessing. When you have only 2 good starters (one hasn't arrived yet) and basically no good relievers (OK maybe one per given game out of five) and basically seven of nine hitters (on a given night) that don't belong on an MLB batters box, you figuratively will lose 9 of every 10 games. Defying the law of averages. Will somebody please tell me why no media member has gotten a comment from the commissioner's office about what's going on 35th St. and Shields? This is unacceptable. (Look at the Twins record before we came to town; we may have saved their season by gosh).
  20. It's wild how guys are running out of gas more and more around 35-38. Hosmer retired this year and he's only 34. It's wild how 26-32 is about it for a ballplayer in terms of production. Julio Franco be darned.
  21. Final point tonight: I was in the car tonight and listened to the final 2 innings on Sirius. The Twins announcers made it abundantly clear til this series Minnie was looking like a pretty pedestrian team (small crowds too). Sox as they did to Kansas City have rejuvenated the Twins a bit. I wouldn't be shocked if Minnie takes all four this series even tho the law of averages once again is on our side. Greg predicts an 11-2 type Twins win tomorrow (if u were smart u'd bet the house on Chicago since my predictions usually reek).
  22. Kopech isn't exactly the second coming of Dennis Eckersley is he? Seems to me he fires a lot of meatballs that get smashed over the fence.
  23. I know Crochet is great but his lines often aren't that spectacular.
  24. Jose Abreu is 4-for-62 with one RBI. Must be frustrating for Jose. U think if this keeps up he'll hang 'em up? Of course he's always started slowly but yikes 4-for-62 is pretty Darin Erstad-ish. (forgive me for starting a new thread but with the Sox 3-21 I think you can forgive me. Not like there's much to discuss).
