  1. I wonder if we can beat Minnie. I think when we get Mendick, plus the slugger Pham and our new starting pitcher, it might result in a few wins. We'll have 2 1/2 reasonable starters plus a decent closer to go with the rejuvenated lineup.

Man, Mendick, Lee and Pham give us hope (to storm past the 20 win mark eventually). Bring 'em in the lineup every day, baby.
  3. Just asking since I don't watch the games. Have no opinion on the lad either way.
  4. Nastrini's line today was horrid. Is he somebody to be concerned about? I mean that line is really really bad. With Mendick and Pham coming are better days ahead for the offense?
  5. So much for the b.s. spewed about improving the clubhouse culture this season. It's hard to only win three games out of how many the Sox have played. Law of averages suggests a few more wins than this, but this team is so bad it defies the law of averages.
  6. For those who follow spring training ... wasn't it evident from week one of spring training how bad a hitting team this would be? I woulda added Whit, Pham and plenty of other guys at that point not named DeJong, Lopez and Maldy when it was painfully obvious how bad this team would be.
  7. Good job by Dick Allen I think for first bringing up multiple no hitters this season. Or whomever brought it up. Any game Nicky Lopez is your leadoff hitter you deserve to get no hit. My gosh how embarrassing. A real team like the Phillies and we got zero chance. I'm surprised Vegas even makes odds for Sox games. Every night the Sox must be +350 or higher.
  8. Is Pham the new Richie Zisk of the franchise? Savior? HR after HR?
  9. Don't send him down, DFA him. Give him a chance to 'maybe' catch on with another team. Sending him to AAA would be so depressing. Release him for his own sake and the sake of anybody watching a Sox game. He is a wreck at the plate.
  10. I wonder if the Sox DFA'ed Vaughn anybody would even pick him up. I know he's a first round can't miss sensation but it's so painful to watch him bat that I can't imagine another team thrusting Vaughn upon their AAA manager. Is Vaughn close to being done? He's 11 for 69 with three RBI. My gosh. That's a .159 BA. He needs a change of scenery so bad. Please get rid of him, Getz.
  11. My gosh. Another shutout. I was in the car for the 9th inning and the Phils' announcers were 'funny.' They were not too high on the 7-0 win mentioning one could say the Phils were helped "by the competition tonight." Meaning the totally inept White Sox. So many hitters who have no chance. You know things are bad when Sheets, Vaughn and Eloy are our main guns. Wowsie.
  12. But will they buy tickets to gorge on pre game corned beef sandwiches, a mid game hot dog and/or pizza? With a beer or 2? Yumm.
  13. South ... do you guys now finally agree with greg that the start of the tank (during the Sale days when we dumped him) was one, horrific idea? Back then there was so much excitement about tanking. Greg was one of only a few to be appalled by the tank.
  14. Do you have good seats? I might want to come to a game this summer.
  15. Has there ever been a player like TA lose so much earning power in one year (at his young age)? This guy is making 1 mill this year? When TA was at his highest you'd have thought he'd get one of those Eloy deals. And from 8 mill to 1 mill this year? Wow. ... And how come in this age of lift and pull it's impossible for him to hit a HR? I just studied his career stats and wowsie, was this guy overhyped or what?
  16. Bullpen blew it for me and I knew the bullpen was a weakness of many on this team. I thought I had that one. Sox couldn't even support STRONG law of averages entering that twinbill.
  17. I even got to meet our former bball coach Bobby Frasor this year. Fun times.
  18. I don't like the new trend of flat out lying to people. He says this with maybe 1,000 people there?? Probably not even 1000.
  19. Oh no. Is 'southside stand up" the new guy's home run call? Please, no. Or is that when we win? If it is, cmon. Three wins?? Stand up to puke.
  20. Sorry for the bad betting advice Buehrle and any others. I'm shocked we blew the lead. I smelled a DH sweep. All you can do is double up for game two and get your dough back. Sox win. ... I shall buy a beer or corned beef for any fan that took my bad advice in a game at the Cell this summer. Peace out. Sorry for the bad call on the sweep. For what it's worth, it's Sox all over game two. W.
  21. I'll tell u one thing. If Sox somehow lose two tomorrow against all law of averages somebody's got to be fired. Or several players have to be demoted. Just swap five guys on the current roster for five minor leaguers for a week. There's no possible way Chicago can start the year 0-7 vs. KC. Something will have to be done tomorrow if there are dual losses. Or maybe they'll tell us Pham is coming soon. Just relax and wait for Pham-ball.
  22. OK guys. Once in a while greg has a strong premonition. I just have a feeling Sox win both games tomorrow if they are not rained out. It's partly law of averages (even though the law of averages might be erased when a team is this bad). There's no reason for us to win both except a.) The Sox as bad as they are have to win a few home games in 2024. b.) Law of averages says the Royals can't be that much better than the Sox in 7 games in a row. This is a pathetic Royals team. So head to Vegas if u must. Greg guarantees a Sox sweep tomorrow. ... One thing is for sure. If the Sox get swept, it's not hyperbole to say Grifol must be fired on the spot. It's impossible to go 0-7 against a team in April. Sox because of the law of weird baseball averages take 2 tomorrow. Bank it baby.
  23. One might argue the roster wasn't that great but Ricky did a fine job with what he had. Sox kind of deserve what's happening after what they did to RR and Bennetti too. Bad karma.
  24. In the mlb.com team meeting story it had a blurb on Eloy coming back from injury. This proves our training staff may be overmatched. Why isn't Eloy getting advice on this. This comment makes it sound like he doesn't know what to do. A real test of Jiménez’s recovery could come from running the bases at full tilt. Jiménez couldn’t provide a definitive answer on how he would approach those situations, even feeling good and close to 100 percent. “I don’t like to say that I’m not going to do it, because at the end of the day, I try to hustle, I try to play hard every single day,” Jiménez said. “To me, saying I’m going to take it easy, did I really want to take it easy, or did I really want to keep hustling and keep pushing? Right now, I don’t have a concrete answer to that question.” https://www.mlb.com/news/eloy-jimenez-activated-from-white-sox-injured-list
  25. I wonder if Burger's worst enemy is the offseason. He's off to a slow start after a good season last year. 34 homers and 80 rbi isn't bad even for modern lift and pull era.
