  1. I meant DeJong, sorry. I think he'll fail with his new team.
  2. And that's why Getz will 100 percent trade Crochet, Robert and gulp, Eloy. And Kopech (to some team desperate to think he might be able to close with proper coaching). Getz will be praised by fans and media for the tank job. Do any of you tire of me expressing complete displeasure at the Sox tanking again? It's the only subject that has my attention (cept maybe DeJong's out of nowhere power and Robert's sleekness). -- I was talking to my lifelong Sox friend. He told me he has divorced himself from the team and when I told him bout trading Robert and Crochet he laughed and acknowledged the Sox will be bottom feeders a long long time to come. Who cares if Sox farm system will be ranked top 10 after the bloodletting? Not me.
  3. What'd he do? I didn't watch. Is he a loafer? I usually am awed by his raw ability. He and Tatis woulda been a nice 1-2 punch.
  4. Holy cow. Is he really 1 for 46? Maldy has no pride apparently. Time to retire. ... Pretty routine loss. DeJong is pretty good. However I don't think he'll bring much via trade. His upside is pretty good for a dismal Sox team where he has no pressure and can try to hit 30 homers or more. Go to a good team? Me thinks he'll close the year about .120 for the new team with 5-6 homers max.
  5. Not sure how we won this one. My bad. I think being at home you'll run into some wins against teams not so great on the road.
  6. Not always. But losing 14 in a row was not conducive to happiness. Pastrami is a guaranteed loss. Don't have to bet the shed tonight. Bet the house and over.
  7. They weren't creepy. Obviously somebody told the two to have her in the booth a half inning. And frankly they understandably were out of questions after a good amount of interview time. They covered a lot of ground with her and none of it was improper or creepy. Give them a break. They get a female gymnastics star thrown in the booth (we don't know if they had much time to prepare or not) and had to interview her. They both did fine. They were professional IMO. Geez.
  8. Disgusting. Disgusting! I am furious. ... You know why? Mark B was like a pitching coach/player. Watching him work FAST and furious, challenging hitters quickly, rubbed off on other members of the staff. Also his "I don't give a damn about baseball" attitude was glorious in the clubhouse. Mark didn't want baseball, didn't need baseball as he was a good ol boy who never got to pitch for his beloved Cardinals. He did a job for chicago and did it well. He should have retired as a WHITE SOX! I saw the TV interview, not radio. The TV interview wasn't as good but Mark again showed his I don't care attitude. One of my fave Sox ever. Opposite of a human rain delay. Mr 2:05.
  9. Geez, somebody got hit in the head with a bottle in the first row they said. That's inexcusable behavior by the bottle throwing fan. Cmon people.
  10. I think he and Stoney deserve a break. They interviewed a female gymast from Bolingbrook. The questions were fine. Nothing inappropriate at all. We got to give the new announcer a break. ... DeJong is an OK player. He passes the eye test.
  11. Boston is not playing a good game.
  12. I'm not even mad at those dumb plays that cost us two runs. Whatever. Good interview with the Michigan State gymnastics star from Bolingbrook. They should have given her more than 20 tickets. Kidding. She said she only used 19 so class move by the Sox,
  13. Crochet is a star, Robert is a star. Two guys who may someday start to bring the Sox to respectability. My gawd. They are good.
  14. Thanks for alerting us this is free on mlb.com. My first game of the year. Robert baby! BTW if we trade Luis Robert that may be it for me. I might divorce myself from baseball if we can't keep this horse! My gosh he is a physical specimin as they say. This guy unlike Eloy is worth nursing any injuries he gets. NO REASON TO TRADE THIS STAR folks. 1-0.
  15. Yep. This one is Chicago's. Time to Bet.The.House or at least the shed.
  16. Is the movie industry dead? It seems to me there are no blockbusters anymore. The previews I saw before watching the ridiculously offensively bad, sophomoric Planet of The Apes were all sleep inducing borefests. I know Covid hit and the woke madness hit but you'd think movie going would never go out of style. I guess it has.
  17. When Getz calls teams offering Fedde, Pham and DeJong he'll be laughed at and offered a steak dinner at Ruth Criss for each. Robert and Crochet and maybe even Leasure who allegedly has potential might bring back alleged good players though. Eloy might bring a snack and hot coffee at Starbucks.
  18. It's close but next year's team might be a few games worse.
  19. I wonder if I'm the only player on the board that fully agrees with this post. Would love to take a survey on it. My biggest frustration as a sports fan is the selling off of good players thinking it will help a team win in the long run. It's just not true when your organization is the White Sox. Bad scouts. Bad front office. Bad manager. ... The people that disagree with me NEVER address the fact it shouldn't take long to field a team to compete in the wretched, small market Central Division.
  20. To hit rock bottom. That's the point of tanking. Trading Crochet and Robert will guarantee we are worse in 2025.
  21. That'd be the only reason to trade him I'll give you that. Also maybe the Sox want to set the record for worst team in modern history then make sure they can beat that record in 2025.
  22. Nothing Left ... a great motto for our team! Good job.
  23. I'm all for firing Pedro but by no means does the move mean ANYTHING. Of course he's the worst manager in the league, but he by no means is the reason this team stinks at a historical level. I am reminding again that in January many of us were predicting what actually has happened. Anybody with a pea sized baseball brain knew we had nothing on the roster of note. Moncada, Eloy and Robert have been hurt, yeah yeah. Who cares? We actually knew that would happen too. Please don't think firing Pedro means anything. Cmon. He does deserve to be canned but the move means nothing. Since the Sox are not trying to win (by shopping Robert) I still wish they'd do Veeck-like stuff starting with letting Stoney manage the team for 2 weeks. Then Ozzie. Then Big Hurt. Then Robin for old times sake. Have some fun.
  24. Sox got five hits and threw some independent league caliber pitcher as a starter. The guys that followed Woodard and Bernstein were hacks as well. Twenty four hits to our five? They should at lease play Three Stooges shorts in a corner of the scoreboard during Sox home games. Sox are fine comedy. Is anybody embarrassed at 35th and Shields? Our ballpark is ok but one of the dullest in baseball. And our team reeks on both offense and defense. Also pitching and bullpen are sub par. 14 in a row is embarrassing but nobody really cares. They're too busy trying to trade the only two good players so the Sox can go 3-25 in April in 2025.
  25. Thanks. Well we should in theory be rooting for him starting tonight. Santos is still rehabbing I think. I hope this guy has some tools. He could spark us like Pham. Mabe a victory tonight with DeLoach and DeJong.
