Sox @ Seamen 6/11 8:40 CDT
Bullpen ... historically bad. Starting pitcher: he did well. Next game will tell me more. He'll be relaxed. I'm surprised some of the stat people on the site aren't alarmed that he's not a flamethrower. I guess he has a good changeup at least that's what they showed on the mlb highlights.

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
I'm tending to think it's the $$. He makes a good buck and Jerry seems to enjoy hoarding money while not freaking out about all the losing.

2024 WNBA Thread
Should be interesting to see how NBC handles coverage of men's and women's Olympic bball. The men's tournament includes a lot of NBA players not only on Team USA (LeBron LeBron LeBron mania means TV dollars) but other teams and all those games will have to be shown in their entireity. So do you think NBC will go for equity and cover the women's team just as much as the men this year at the Games? Or do you think NBC, upset at the loss of ratings by a stupid decision to keep CC off the team, will essentially boycott coverage of the women? I say equity wins and the women will have unprecedented coverage at the Games. Also there will be no discussion of CC outside of pregame coverage of game one.

2024 WNBA Thread
Hate to say this but this Clark/WNBA/Olympic Game fiasco makes me wonder how brain deficient many people are in this country. 1.) CC joins the league and immediately the players get to board charter flights instead of the dreaded commercial. Do the jealous WNBA players who reap this benefit deny that the charter flights are 100 percent because of CC? They were not going to switch to charter before she joined the league. ... Are the WNBA players, who make mere pennies compared to players in the NBA that dumb to realize their checks can only go up as crowds and TV deals go up? Is jealousy that rampant it wipes out common sense?? The more popular CC gets the more money is tossed my way? We've learned either the WNBA players are brain deficient or jealousy is more powerful emotion than desire for cold, hard cash. 2.) Virtually everybody outside of USA Basketball and the jealous WNBA has said it's downright dumb to not have CC on the Olympic team for myriads of reasons mostly involving $$ (jersey sales, media interest, etc). So they keep her off the team. Again, I guess we've learned jealousy trumps $$ in that world. All the commentators are aghast at keeping her off the team. Pure jealousy of the players to refuse to let their league grow by the people's choice, the Taylor Swift of women's hoops (little girls just love CC the role model) being allowed on Team USA. Sad. Sad Sad. Let the league grow.

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
Are the Sox trading Robert because he makes a good salary? Are the Sox that desperate for working cash? Sad that most of the fanbase is probably OK with trading him. Seems that way.

White Sox calling up Thorpe
Is Thorpe the next Jack McDowell? Give him two starts before you develop an impression of him. Give him a break, folks if he doesn't excel the first outing. Why has he been traded twice? Did the Yanks not like his velocity?

Cubs Thread 2024
I say we trade them Lopez and DeJong for Madrigal. He belongs in a Sox jersey.

White Sox calling up Thorpe
If they trade all those guys fans need to just treat the Sox like a minor league team the rest of their lives (at MLB prices though). It'll be apparent even more than now that this is just a (bad) entertainment option not a competitive team and has ZERO chance of ever winning anything of note again. Just go to the game as if it was a minor league game, not caring who wins, just a (bad) entertainment option for a summer night. Flipping everybody will accomplish nothing except show us even moreso this is not a real sports team it's a once-in-summertime entertainment option or something to watch on TV when utterly bored of movies, talk shows.

White Sox calling up Thorpe
Looks like the Sox are serious about not wanting to break the all time record for losses. They've been making a lot of moves, albeit some (many) forced by injuries. If this guy is good and pitches well he could add some excitement along with Crochet, Robert, Fedde, Pham, last night's starter.

6/10 - White Stockings vs. Pike Street Salty Dogs 8:40pm
Kopech is as bad a reliever as the Sox have had in a while. And Leasure is overrated apparently. He's been pathetic. Tonight was another game that proves there always will be one aspect of the game that prevents victory. Tonight the starting pitching was A-plus, the hitting and defense were good nuff. But the bullpen was an F-minus and that's the ballgame. Of course I heard on the radio Sox rank last in pitching (I think it's ERA) and last in BA. Way to put together a roster. You'd think they want to lose, wink wink, tank, tank.

That's what I said too. Read your comment now. U were first.

6/10 - White Stockings vs. Pike Street Salty Dogs 8:40pm
Well that was revolting. Again, it's tough to blow a 4-0 lead in the eighth. Good luck to whichever team wants Kopech. And Leasure probably has lost trade value. Looks like he's throwing meat up there. Julks and Robert had nice games for all the trade lovers.

Of the very worst players in MLB
Sox would have more than the one lone, everything went right that 05 postseason title if they had never got rid of Dombroski. I'd go with the Sox as one of the three worst franchises in all of sports today, arguably the worst.

White Sox "actively seeking" packages for Robert
Those 3 Blackhawk titles were fun. It was great to have Crawford in goal. Seems to me if you don't have a super goaltender u ain't winning squat. As far as the White Sox it's quite difficult to put together a team this awful. And it's not like the Sox are gonna get the No. 1 pick the next few years with the change to that rule. That's hilarious in itself. The Sox can't even time their tanking correctly. Just think if the Sox could get the No. 1 pick the next few years. "Some" fans would be in nirvana year after year. Some of our fans have bought into this tanking thing being a good thing. I'm a little surprised Jerry has gone along with it. I guess he's won enough titles and now it's only about making sure his grandkids and great grandkids are multi millionaires. In any other business Robert and Crochet would be seen as must-keep assets. In Sox business they must be traded. Crazy world. That's why I'm in favor of contracting the Sox. See if Chicago can get an expansion team.

June 9th. 3rd game of Winning Streak. Chris Flexon, Come on Down. Your turn.
I meant DeJong, sorry. I think he'll fail with his new team.

Can the sox have the best farm system in baseball after the deadline
And that's why Getz will 100 percent trade Crochet, Robert and gulp, Eloy. And Kopech (to some team desperate to think he might be able to close with proper coaching). Getz will be praised by fans and media for the tank job. Do any of you tire of me expressing complete displeasure at the Sox tanking again? It's the only subject that has my attention (cept maybe DeJong's out of nowhere power and Robert's sleekness). -- I was talking to my lifelong Sox friend. He told me he has divorced himself from the team and when I told him bout trading Robert and Crochet he laughed and acknowledged the Sox will be bottom feeders a long long time to come. Who cares if Sox farm system will be ranked top 10 after the bloodletting? Not me.

White Sox "actively seeking" packages for Robert
What'd he do? I didn't watch. Is he a loafer? I usually am awed by his raw ability. He and Tatis woulda been a nice 1-2 punch.

June 9th. 3rd game of Winning Streak. Chris Flexon, Come on Down. Your turn.
Holy cow. Is he really 1 for 46? Maldy has no pride apparently. Time to retire. ... Pretty routine loss. DeJong is pretty good. However I don't think he'll bring much via trade. His upside is pretty good for a dismal Sox team where he has no pressure and can try to hit 30 homers or more. Go to a good team? Me thinks he'll close the year about .120 for the new team with 5-6 homers max.

June 8th. Game 2 of Winning Streak. Nastrini's turn to Stand Up.
Not sure how we won this one. My bad. I think being at home you'll run into some wins against teams not so great on the road.

June 8th. Game 2 of Winning Streak. Nastrini's turn to Stand Up.
Not always. But losing 14 in a row was not conducive to happiness. Pastrami is a guaranteed loss. Don't have to bet the shed tonight. Bet the house and over.

June 7th. BoSox vs Crochet. Streak-Ender.
They weren't creepy. Obviously somebody told the two to have her in the booth a half inning. And frankly they understandably were out of questions after a good amount of interview time. They covered a lot of ground with her and none of it was improper or creepy. Give them a break. They get a female gymnastics star thrown in the booth (we don't know if they had much time to prepare or not) and had to interview her. They both did fine. They were professional IMO. Geez.

June 7th. BoSox vs Crochet. Streak-Ender.
Disgusting. Disgusting! I am furious. ... You know why? Mark B was like a pitching coach/player. Watching him work FAST and furious, challenging hitters quickly, rubbed off on other members of the staff. Also his "I don't give a damn about baseball" attitude was glorious in the clubhouse. Mark didn't want baseball, didn't need baseball as he was a good ol boy who never got to pitch for his beloved Cardinals. He did a job for chicago and did it well. He should have retired as a WHITE SOX! I saw the TV interview, not radio. The TV interview wasn't as good but Mark again showed his I don't care attitude. One of my fave Sox ever. Opposite of a human rain delay. Mr 2:05.

June 7th. BoSox vs Crochet. Streak-Ender.
Geez, somebody got hit in the head with a bottle in the first row they said. That's inexcusable behavior by the bottle throwing fan. Cmon people.

June 7th. BoSox vs Crochet. Streak-Ender.
I think he and Stoney deserve a break. They interviewed a female gymast from Bolingbrook. The questions were fine. Nothing inappropriate at all. We got to give the new announcer a break. ... DeJong is an OK player. He passes the eye test.

Boston is not playing a good game.
