  1. I'm not even mad at those dumb plays that cost us two runs. Whatever. Good interview with the Michigan State gymnastics star from Bolingbrook. They should have given her more than 20 tickets. Kidding. She said she only used 19 so class move by the Sox,
  2. Crochet is a star, Robert is a star. Two guys who may someday start to bring the Sox to respectability. My gawd. They are good.
  3. Thanks for alerting us this is free on mlb.com. My first game of the year. Robert baby! BTW if we trade Luis Robert that may be it for me. I might divorce myself from baseball if we can't keep this horse! My gosh he is a physical specimin as they say. This guy unlike Eloy is worth nursing any injuries he gets. NO REASON TO TRADE THIS STAR folks. 1-0.
  4. Yep. This one is Chicago's. Time to Bet.The.House or at least the shed.
  5. Is the movie industry dead? It seems to me there are no blockbusters anymore. The previews I saw before watching the ridiculously offensively bad, sophomoric Planet of The Apes were all sleep inducing borefests. I know Covid hit and the woke madness hit but you'd think movie going would never go out of style. I guess it has.
  6. When Getz calls teams offering Fedde, Pham and DeJong he'll be laughed at and offered a steak dinner at Ruth Criss for each. Robert and Crochet and maybe even Leasure who allegedly has potential might bring back alleged good players though. Eloy might bring a snack and hot coffee at Starbucks.
  7. It's close but next year's team might be a few games worse.
  8. I wonder if I'm the only player on the board that fully agrees with this post. Would love to take a survey on it. My biggest frustration as a sports fan is the selling off of good players thinking it will help a team win in the long run. It's just not true when your organization is the White Sox. Bad scouts. Bad front office. Bad manager. ... The people that disagree with me NEVER address the fact it shouldn't take long to field a team to compete in the wretched, small market Central Division.
  9. To hit rock bottom. That's the point of tanking. Trading Crochet and Robert will guarantee we are worse in 2025.
  10. That'd be the only reason to trade him I'll give you that. Also maybe the Sox want to set the record for worst team in modern history then make sure they can beat that record in 2025.
  11. Nothing Left ... a great motto for our team! Good job.
  12. I'm all for firing Pedro but by no means does the move mean ANYTHING. Of course he's the worst manager in the league, but he by no means is the reason this team stinks at a historical level. I am reminding again that in January many of us were predicting what actually has happened. Anybody with a pea sized baseball brain knew we had nothing on the roster of note. Moncada, Eloy and Robert have been hurt, yeah yeah. Who cares? We actually knew that would happen too. Please don't think firing Pedro means anything. Cmon. He does deserve to be canned but the move means nothing. Since the Sox are not trying to win (by shopping Robert) I still wish they'd do Veeck-like stuff starting with letting Stoney manage the team for 2 weeks. Then Ozzie. Then Big Hurt. Then Robin for old times sake. Have some fun.
  13. Sox got five hits and threw some independent league caliber pitcher as a starter. The guys that followed Woodard and Bernstein were hacks as well. Twenty four hits to our five? They should at lease play Three Stooges shorts in a corner of the scoreboard during Sox home games. Sox are fine comedy. Is anybody embarrassed at 35th and Shields? Our ballpark is ok but one of the dullest in baseball. And our team reeks on both offense and defense. Also pitching and bullpen are sub par. 14 in a row is embarrassing but nobody really cares. They're too busy trying to trade the only two good players so the Sox can go 3-25 in April in 2025.
  14. Thanks. Well we should in theory be rooting for him starting tonight. Santos is still rehabbing I think. I hope this guy has some tools. He could spark us like Pham. Mabe a victory tonight with DeLoach and DeJong.
  15. Well Boston is 31-31. You'd think they'd want to beat us up and get their season going. Losses to the Sox would not be good for their team. Sox might be due for a win.
  16. Is this DeLoach guy any good? I see he's young. Is he a top prospect? How'd we acquire him?
  17. Stoney is a treasure. I'm pretty sure he's cut his social media tweeting (X'ing) quite a bit. Hasn't he pretty much stopped posting on X? That should tell us something right there. He can't post anything about this team without getting hammered by the responses. I mean the team is completely irrelevant and no post would make any sense unless it's extremely negative. He can't do that and keep his job. Like after last night he could post how bad Kopech is, but didn't. Or getting on a guy like Maldy for his inept at bats. Or bury Vaughn. He can't do that. So I believe he's stopped tweeting for the most part.
  18. The Royals brought up Witt early on when the team reeked. It's worked out. I wish the Sox had MLB caliber players to play every day. Since they don't it's really criminal to charge MLB prices for stuff. At least cut all prices IN HALF right now if you are going to play these horrible players, old and young. Who cares if Colas goes 0-for-70? Play him every day. It's not going to hurt him. We're losing anyway. There's no reason to give at bats and playing time to guys like Maldy. I wouldn't worry about rushing players. It's not like their ineptitude if they stink will hurt the club. Remember Ventura was 0-for-30 or something then he got good.
  19. I wonder how many teams in baseball approach roster construction and paying players the same way as the Sox. I find it absolutely amazing that the Sox have been unable to compete in the Central not only historically but specifically since tank became a popular four-letter word in MLB. Sox can't even compete with fellow paupers KC, Detroit, Cleveland and Minnie. Certainly their plan is better than our plan. I know KC has had some horrendous records but not Minnie for the most part. What do they got that we ain't got??
  20. Should they switch Kopech to a starter? It seems to me he's about as bad a one-inning reliever as I've seen in a Sox jersey. I mean of those expected to be decent. You can't count some of the hacks we've had that are just bodies to complete a roster. That implosion last night was so quick. Just laughable how bad he is. Make him a starter. We're already very used to starters stinking. Can't be any worse than some of them we've seen during the tank years.
  21. I was thinking about this tonight. Pedro has led the team to a 15-47 record. This is not hyperbole but a good portion of the fanbase (that can read and write lineup cards) if promoted to manager of the White Sox could probably have as good or better record than Pedro. Now if a fan had the job and had to meet with the GM every day and got help from the pitching and hitting coaches during games, that person probably could go at least 15-47. That's scary when you think about it. I mean maybe if one of our fans managed the team we'd be 5-57 but I dunno. I think some fans could have as good or better record than Pedro and that's scary. It's not hard to go 15-47.
  22. Exactly. The Sox give so many teams life. It's absurd. I'm telling you ... the Royals gained a lot of early confidence by winning 6 of 7 vs Chicago or whatever it was. We woke up Minnesota at the time for sure. This was a wake up for the Cubs. And there are other teams the Sox awakened as well. Did the Sox stink against Cleveland too and boost their spirits early on? I forget.
  23. Another sign that Sox are irrelevant. I used to get so mad at us losing to the Cubs and/or Royals. Now ... I sheepishly confess in the car I was 'rooting' for us to lose. I mean we're 15 games behind the team ahead of us in our division I think. What the hell does one win matter if we can lose 14, 15, 16 in a row? That'd be kind of neat. (For the greg haters ... I realize I've always wanted us to win every game especially against tanking. But I'm human and very upset with the Sox. In general I do want to win games, but guys, when you've won 15 all year, I get a year mulligan on that kind of thinking. I'm just thinking of how the Sox have lost a generation of older fans to go with indifference of any younger fans. What a mess. Please, MLB, either discipline the Sox for putting this product out there or please contract the team.
  24. Are there any Kopech fans still on this board? My gosh his fastball must be so flat. Cause it gets HIT. I listened while driving in the car to the 8th and 9th. Boom. HR. Game over. Cubs announcers quite happy. Of course like all the teams that get well in playing the Sox they didn't mention we've lost 13 in a row and suck. All they did was mention how great the Cubs are in coming back from a bad few weeks and how they are a very good team blah blah. Their fans actually had to really enjoy that 2-game sweep despite the Sox record. I mean a pair of 7-6 wins. First one a comeback from 5-0; this one a ridiculous walk off. I repeat BOOM. -- By the way our top of the ninth was ridiculous. Those were allegedly our best hitters and our only hope of scoring was if that pinch runner somehow stole third after stealing second and the ball was thrown past 3B to score the run. Pretty weak that I thought Vaughn might hit a HR. How dumb of me.
  25. If the Sox have to trade all their good players cause they'll never be able to sign them then why have a team? Just contract the team or get an owner with deep pockets who wants to win. You know this Central Division isn't that hard to rim. Remember it's usually the Sox responsible for these teams actually having good seasons cause they boatrace the Sox so often. We singlehandedly gave the Royals confidence early on, ditto Minnesota which was in the tank til it played the Sox. Sickening we can't sign anybody and apparently will have to win with 22 to 25 year olds and retreads which will never happen. Geez, sell the damn team.
