  1. Didn't somebody say the Sox had somebody in the minors who was pretty good? I'd personally hire some older baseball guy not married to metrics but has a good feel for baseball. And somebody with an edge. You know my choice is Ozzie but if we can't have him, maybe a Dusty Baker or Ned Yost. Ned might do it if we make it worth his while. Oops I forgot. Jerry won't pay up. What about Ozzie with Robin as his bench coach? Robin can keep him in line if he gets mouthy. By the way did anybody see Bill James' twitter (X) rant about advanced metrics ruining the game? And he's the one who started Sabes. By the way if the Sox aren't going to try to field a decent team, they could even sign AJP to a two year managerial deal. If the Sox won't pay a proven stud at least make it fun like Veeck did. Kessinger is younger than Biden and Trump both. A second chance for Don?? Peace out. Oz for president.
  2. I've said all along the team will be much worse in 2025 once all our pitchers are dealt. And when Robert is dealt. Getz is going to have to fill a roster again this December with clones of Lopez just to make sure we have enough MLB-ready players to field a team.
  3. This post is endorsed by the great and powerful Wizard of Oz (lover). It's endorsed by greg. I'd imagine some fans who read this post think I have an account named "striker." Nope. ... See, other people do think like greg. I endorse your post!!
  4. Me. The timing of that trade stunk and trading Burger during a season in which he led the team in HRs and was blasting them at a good rate was disappointing. He crushed that ball today. That HR was actually legendary. Against former team which walked the previous hitter off a guy that throws as hard as anybody in Sox history. Hilarious.
  5. Another excellent post. I love me some Pham but your post said it all.
  6. Amen. These players and manager should be called out on a daily basis by fans and media. It's Jerry's fault. Only he could create a team that is this bad.
  7. I disagree. I used to agree with that assertion until the Sox decided to have a roster full of unlikeable players. We have one likeable player in Crochet. Robert is not yet in the likeable category after pulling that stunt in cf the other day to go with his ultra low batting average and penchant for multi-strikeout games when he's not on.
  8. Just caught up on my box score and game wrap. Another lol moment with the Sox. Burger couldn't have hit that ball any harder. I'm actually so happy he hit that bomb off Kopech. See Jerry, I know you don't care one iota, but here's a lifelong Sox fan thrilled we lost cause Burger hit the bomb. Burger ... a fan favorite who should never have been traded. Yoan shoulda been traded not Burger to go. If somebody wanted to rip the team that acquires Kopech ... there's a pretty good highlight reel of blown saves and monster hits off him somebody could put together. Kopech is no reliever. If any team wants him as a reliever that team has rocks for brains. He needs to be reinvented as a starter ASAP. And work on ball movement on his fastball and a great secondary pitch. Still can't believe the Sox blew another lead today.
  9. That's one of the problems. We don't know their plan. They actually have a good rotation for the future in Fedde, Crochet, Thorpe and Kopech. Sign a couple real relievers and their staff next season is contention worthy. But they won't explain their strategy. Are they trading Croche, Fedde and Kopech and maybe Tharpe even? If that's the plan then 45 wins is the plan for 2025. Tell us the plan White Sox.
  10. I think some of you guys who think the Sox are gonna get a delightful haul of future stars/contributors for Crochet and Robert are gonna be disappointed. I don't think contenders are gonna 'need' to acquire either guy. It's not like we're talking Koufax and Willie Mays here. They are very good players. Let's see what Getz can get, lol.
  11. The Sox deserve the negative comments. They've left their fans NOTHING to discuss during a season from hell except for the 2-5 people who love tank jobs and rebuilds. Maybe love is too strong a word but pardon those of us who don't follow tank/rebuilds. We want wins ASAP.
  12. Looks like a boring loss from the box score and game wrap. Crochet only went 4? Weird.
  13. Also Robert's catch saved the victory. He's doing well.
  14. Somebody named greg has been saying similar things. Time to adjust the tank/rebuild just a bit. Tinker time baby.
  15. Thorpe ... excellent performance as our starters continue to approach true mediocrity or B- status. Sox starters ... Something to build on.
  16. How was attendance during the tank years? That's disappointing to me even if he's dynamite.
  17. I wish I was a hockey fan and could examine how the Blackhawks are trying to turn it around now that they have Bedard. Think about if they had our philosophy. They'd trade him for two studs and five No. 1 draft picks. Apparently they see value in the star cause I haven't heard of him being on the block. You could say he is the Hawks version of Crochet/Robert. ... And how are the Bulls rebuilding? They don't seem to care much about signing stars: oh wait, doesn't Jerry own that team, too? Ugh, what a lost summer.
  18. My problem is I don't like or endorse No. 3. I do appreciate your position but I don't like it.
  19. That's why this tank/rebuild stuff is a nonsequitir. Two players worth paying to watch? Get rid of 'em, case closed. I agree with Lip Jerry has to go, but Jerry apparently ain't selling. And nobody is Scrooge enough to wish ill will on his health. I wish him life longevity. He did give us one title in our lifetimes at least.
  20. Not really; they got Fedde in a master move, for peanuts so to speak.
  21. I like your posts but I still couldn't say what your position is on the current tank/rebuild. We know my position: Keep the guys who actually have value on a baseball field, get 2 new starters, 2 good relievers and 2 more hitters. That's six players from division contention. How do we get them? That's Getzie's job to figure out. Monte is one of them and maybe Colas the second and we have the young catching stud in the system. It's not that difficult. I wish you'd describe to me your exact position on what the Sox should do besides wait on Jerry's selling the team which isn't much of a stance to be frank (thomas). Peace out.
  22. The Sox will never build an actual team if they keep doing it this way. There always will be somebody they have to trade to get cheaper talent. Fedde would be useful to next year's team kind of like Freddy.
  23. Joe Buck. ... I have no idea.
  24. Sox should Cease and desist regarding any and all trade offers of Robert and Crochet.
  25. How come we want to trade Fedde so bad? He's only 31 and comes cheap. Oh I forgot the Sox for some sick reason enjoy being out of the race on April 29 every year.
