  1. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 04:26 AM) I think they lose 3/4 against the Rays. Then I think you are predicting no playoffs. Sox BTW are continuing that maddening trand of good Sox/bad Sox. Five game win streak ... now two on the other side of the ledger with a very tough series coming up.
  2. QUOTE (C_LEE45 @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 04:22 AM) we lose 2 out of 3 maybe get swept That wouldn't be wise. We're not going to make the playoffs by losing series.
  3. The Royals were trying to be the old Royals tonight. When Guthrie fielded that bunt and threw it away, they were giving us a blowout victory. We squandered a few more chances that inning and the next inning to expand on the lead. When it stayed at 3-0 we were destined to lose the game. This game begged to be blown open early. Sox have had way too many close games. It's required all these dorky pitching moves by Robin from the sixth inning on and the Sox have found a way to lose like you said by "not playing good solid baseball for nine innings."
  4. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 04:18 AM) Does Robin even deserve manager of the year at this point? Yes. If Sox win the division outright. I wouldn't give it to him if we have a one-game playoff vs. Detroit, though.
  5. QUOTE (C_LEE45 @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 04:14 AM) let me know how that goes,we lose 4out of 7 tigers will mop KC and we can remember this night the season went away!!!!!! All the losses to KC have been equally painful. We lose 2 of 3, 3 of 4 or get swept by them regularly. Tonight's is no different from the other losses to them. I will say if the Sox find a way to win the division (and avoid a one-game playoff with Detroit) in a year they lose 12 games to KC, Robin does deserve manager of the year. It's almost impossible to lose that many games to a division team and win the division.
  6. If the Sox starters could actually pitch seven strong innings like they are supposed to, we'd be a lot happier when we play KC. When we start bringing in relievers in the sixth ... look out.
  7. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 04:05 AM) Can we just try something else against this team? Obviously whatever the hell it is we're doing isn't working. Let's just play our sunday lineup against the Royals every time, give our veterans a rest. They're not getting the job done any way. We don't have to worry about that until next season. At least I can watch games again in their entireity now that we're done with KC and Detroit. If we have to play Detroit in a one-game playoff though, I'll skip that one. A playoff game against Detroit would not be fun IMO.
  8. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 04:04 AM) Give it a rest will ya? Why? that other guy keeps attacking me. Like I'm the only one blasting the White Sox for another crappy loss.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 03:54 AM) Ha. Sox should have scored more in the early innings. Congrats to greg, he won his World Series. Yeah. I'm born and raised Sox fan who grew up on the South Side and went to Brother Rice. But I'm a huge Royals fan. I have spent 10 years on this board just to fake that I'm a Sox fan. I hope you have a better read on people than you have shown regarding me. Sox don't deserve to make the playoffs after losing 12 times to KC. It's that simple. Thing is neither does Detroit so may be best of the worst prevail.
  10. Death. Taxes. And losing series to the Kansas City f***ing Royals. Congratulations, White Sox. You got owned again. Good luck winning the division when u lose 12 times to Kansas City.
  11. I'm watching at work with 2 royals fans. They are laughing at us for walking Frenchy.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 03:40 AM) Congrats Thanks. I'm the biggest Royals fan in the area.
  13. LOL at Sox ready to lose to KC again.
  14. QUOTE (Skipper @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 03:07 AM) Yes, and also the one who gave up the bomb to Butler to tie the game. Oops. That was a bomb, my bad. I was so shocked we got out of the inning tied that I mistakenly gave Nate props.
  15. LOL. Whoever said momentum doesn't exist in baseball ... the Royals have all the mojo in this game right now. Is this the inning they bust it open? We've seen this game before.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 03:04 AM) Huh? Was that Nate who got the out?
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 02:59 AM) PLEASE LOOK AT JONES' splits, lefty vs. righty. Sometimes I think Ventura just wants to make this last month interesting on purpose. Lucky that ball didn't go out or Jones would actually be on the hook for a possible loss. I'm sick of our starters not being able to get through six f***ing innings. Nice job by Jones, though.
  18. Uh oh. Moose is up to break the tie. WHy did't Lexi go to third there??? He woulda been out right??
  19. QUOTE (Skipper @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 02:41 AM) I just don't understand how the Royals have such a poor record. They have to play teams besides the White Sox. Thanks for teeing that one up for me.
  20. Any player in the minor leagues could have crushed that pitch that Giavattella blasted.
  21. That bunt play was awesome. It made the Royals finally turn into the Royals. That's how they play vs. everybody else, folks! Nice screwup by Guthrie. Coulda been more damage, though. Giavatella shoulda slipped on that outfield grounder. 3-0 is good for now. Safe to say we need more than that, tho.
  22. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) I don't remember our school having daddy-daughter dances. Queen of Martyrs had 'em. I remember my dad taking my sister. I think they actually had a good time.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 07:52 PM) Bringing Youk back for $13 million would be a huge mistake, IMO. He's hitting around .200 since the ASB. If you're going to invest that much in a 3rd baseman, it seems like you could use that money for a better player. I'm not sure who would be available in the offseason (trade market). You make a great argument for letting him go. Bye bye Youk. As far as Peavy, it's dangerous to let inning-eaters go. If he's healthy he's an inning eater. That'd be two years in a row with mark and now Jake. s*** maybe we should sign Guthrie?
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) What is the purpose of you posting these sentiments for the 186th time this week? Just see it as you doing me a favor in letting me post that. If I didn't post it I'd have to take medication to quell my hatred of the Royals and the Sox's losing to them on a regular basis. Thank u.
  25. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 05:38 PM) You all missed half the point. The ACLU was saying that the schools had no business in trying to 'force' these gender stereotypes that all girls want a dance or that all guys want to play sports. So the mere fact that it is daddy-daughter dance, and not parent-kid dance is one of the complaints. Yes but the ACLU is a joke because the school has something for the dads and something for the moms. What's wrong with having a dad-daughter dance? Do a google search for that video of the comedian and his daughter doing this well thought out dance routine. It's hilarious and something that daughter will never forget, being with her dad in a dance routine like that. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 06:37 PM) I'm glad I never lived anywhere that had Mother Son dances, cause my Mother would have dragged me to one of those awful events. Also, I loved that this all happened over four months ago and no one in that town gave a s***, until a politician made it his campaign focus. LOL. That's funny. I also would have despised going to a mother-son dance in grade school. Woulda been awful. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 07:45 PM) 1. Banning peanut butter is f***ing stupid. That's the kid/parent's responsibility. 2. Anyone that thinks sports would be banned is delusional. THERE ARE f***ING TRYOUTS FOR A REASON. TO CUT PEOPLE. A player can't argue with getting cut if they are physically/mentally unable to perform the tasks. Otherwise get rid of school altogether, because there are things like special ed. and honors classes. Stop trying to dramatize the point and creating a clear agenda. I'm not saying special ed kids suing. Just a regular kid so hurt by getting cut that he doesn't want to go to school anymore. I can picture the parent: "Why can't my son be on the team? He is willing to go to practices and games just like the kids who are on the team? Let my son on the team dammit or we are suing you!!! My son is emotionally distressed over this." The peanut butter thing is insane. If you are allergic to it ... you don't order it from the cafeteria or bring it. You don't ban it from the menu. I'm allergic to Fritos. I remember a lot of kids eating those when we were little. I just didn't eat 'em.
