Why couldn't we have a Bobby Witt, JR in this class!

Green space is an interesting suggestion...I LOVE Petco Park for a ton of reasons. One of them is the "look" of a park beyond CF. That said...if you are looking for an urban feel (not saying you are) I wonder how much green space can be created and still max out on what the developers will be looking for (profits). I enjoy thinking about a future ballpark and I enjoy looking at past ballparks and what makes them unique. Good topic of conversation!

What has been past practice in terms of labor disputes and players getting service time missed by a lockout/strike? I am sure this is something that is negotiated during the process...but does anyone recall the outcomes of past labor disputes concerning this issue? I feel like I recall players getting service time...that could factor into how long we get to enjoy Murakami. Maybe? I hope all of that stuff is worked out late summer/early fall!

THIS! We don't want to be talking about dealing him...but we also know JR isn't going to sign him to a monster deal (even by White Sox financial standards)! Either he is or isn't worth it...but unfortunately the clock is ticking! A 2 year window of time only allows the organization a few chances to capitalize on their investment. Ticket sales ain't doing it...so we will have to acquire talent in exchange for Murakami. I just feel with all the moving parts (trade deadline, labor issue in the off-season)...I think to truly get "something" for him...probably have to deal him sooner than later. Had he signed a traditional contract where we controlled him for 6 seasons...different story!

I guess I could look it up...but was Ted Lyons injured? Seems odd that his last victory came in April. What an incredible stat though...28 straight complete games! Holy smokes! Thanks for putting these daily histories together!

I just keep asking myself...what is the timeline for the White Sox to get the most in return for Murakami? Is it this trade deadline (knowing the labor situation)? If we hold him and we play a short season next year...that would have to diminish any return? And who knows...maybe the first half of his first season will be his best stretch in his career? We have no idea! BUT...the the jokes at the expense of the White Sox organization would be off the charts if they trade him in two months! Yet that might be our best bet at getting something in return! We only signed him for 2 seasons for this purpose! To get something in return...

We know the answer to that right!? Because of who he was traded for...and who made the trade to acquire him! Not saying that is justified...but it feels like the truth.

I only read what is on this site about draft choices...is Roch still thought of as the obvious choice? I kind of figured that the guy everyone has talked about being the 1st pick since last season likely would not end up being the #1 pick. Just seems like someone always jumps to the top unless you have a Bobby Witt Jr sitting there? What are the national publications that follow college baseball/the draft saying?

AGREE! Even my kids will pay attention to a game when they hear his voice! Yes...they recognize him thru our love of the White Sox...but we know his voice and we enjoy his call...whatever sport he is calling! Heck...we even tune into Tiger games to hear him! He is great!

I don't get the free package either...I pay for it...I did reinstall the MLB app...didn't think about outside the US...I don't need it yet because they don't protect spring training games I don't think...I don't have the Marquee Network but I am pulling the game in thru the MLB app without VPN so at the moment...I am good. My NordVPN is causing problems today...MLB.tv app won't let me view any of the spring training games when my VPN is on. I had it set to Seattle for awhile...nothing would show up...neither on my phone or TV. UGH...hope it is just a spring training thing...

The past year or two I used the MLB.tv app...and NordVPN...worked great! Today...not working! Ugh...MLB.tv figured out how to ban VPNS? I did turn the VPN off and it works (spring training)...but this could ruin my plans for the rest of the summer in regards to watching the White Sox!
