  1. I read somewhere that the new "City-Connect" uniforms are debuting May 2. Anyone else see that?
  2. I assumed a year or two...figure it is cordial and involving polite discussions and mutual respect. Convinced JR offered a plan that led to Ishbias backing away from MSP...and in return the Ishbias are going to let JR set the pace of transition...and a timeline that is most likely already set. Just a guess though...I don't have much experience in the lives of billionaires! 😁
  3. That would make sense. I get that turning uniform styles/designs over creates more buyers who want the new look...but our SouthSide stuff is all-time great in my opinion! Especially stacked up against some the ridiculous looks the City-Connect stuff has produced.
  4. Why dump such a popular look? Kids these days with their "limited edition" attraction! LOL...my son is a Padres fan and this will crush him!
  5. My apologies if this was covered in a different post...this popped up on my Facebook account...hadn't seen anything about this until now. Hope it isn't true. I know whether a person likes/dislikes a look is a personal/relative thing...but I LOVE our City-Connect look! I fear that whatever they come-up with can't meet the standard of our "current" City-Connect unis! Anyone else hear this?
  6. If what we think is going on is going on...this isn't swapping baseball trading cards! Not happening by writing it out on a cocktail napkin. These things get done when they get done...and they aren't going to announce it until it gets done (if it is even happening). Billions of dollars involved here...it isn't a handshake and a wink. Confusion for the fans...who cares? I am one of them and I enjoy this story...but it isn't changing anything about how I go about my day. I hope Ishbia buys the White Sox...but I am not expecting it to be today or next week...
  7. What does the issue of an expiring lease do for/against JR? Does it make the team more/less valuable? I get that many of us want a shiny new park (I DO!!)...but what impact would it have on the value of the franchise if JR decided to sign a lease for the use of the current park for 10 or 20 years?
  8. But what does JR gain in return for being the "bad" guy this go-around? Vengeance against some owners? Against the union? I sure hope he isn't obsessed with that mindset in his last years of life. If he thought he could do something that would "save the game" or the likes then yeah...but would he really want to go out as the "hatchet man"?
  9. Apologize if this has been covered in the 20 pages...but is a "formal" announcement about something happening coming Friday or will this involve a bunch of reporters looking for leaks about a private meeting? Either way this is exciting...
  10. But in what context? If the other owners don't like/respect the ideas of JR...they won't care one bit what he wants or how he wants things done in terms of a CBA. The owners don't need a "bad" guy...this is an entirely different era than the early 90s. Now if the "bad" guy means tough decisions for the White Sox? Well...he already is that! LOL...
  11. It is intriguing...but does JR have nearly the sway/power he had in the 90s among the owners? I am guessing not even close to it! Does he even have the energy to take that battle on? We all know he is a union-buster...but I just can't believe the ownership groups in MLB pay much attention to JR these days.
  12. The channel is live in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa market...comes in crystal clear at my place. Still seems odd for me to switch inputs to watch a "Chicago" channel...but at least it works at this point!
  13. Ugh...he was the best! What a great person...and for White Sox fans...he was the perfect manager at the perfect moment for this franchise!
  14. And Jerry has cleared the organization of major financial commitments that any potential buyer would have to consider. Not saying he is doing this on purpose...but think if the Dodgers were put up for sale with their payroll structure at the moment. One would have to take a long hard look at the financial obligations just in terms of player pay. This situation sucks for fans, sadly Jerry seems to be creating an opportunity for a new owner to have as clean of a start as possible. Again, not suggesting he is doing this on purpose.
  15. MLBTradeRumors...Brewers: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/12/brewers-reportedly-engaged-in-garrett-crochet-market.html
  16. Brewers?? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/12/brewers-reportedly-engaged-in-garrett-crochet-market.html
  17. Now they switched the Cedar Rapids channel back to the "coming soon" column!
  18. Easier to hide/hold a pitcher or a hitter when acquired via Rule 5? I feel like a pitcher might be easier to justify a roster spot...
  19. All organizations have these situations...I still would have loved to have watched the White Sox figure out how to use Tatis, Jr, Semien and TA all at the same time when they were young...
  20. Agree...it would be different if Cease was drafted by the White Sox...and even then it would be hard to imagine Sale lasting this long (even though he has missed a bit of time in his career).
  21. So far in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa market the channel doesn't seem active. The channel comes in very clear but so far I have only seen infomercials being broadcast. Maybe I should look for a different channel but I feel I have scrolled thru all of them and found nothing...
  22. I live in Iowa so I get what feels like half of the league blacked-out! Still though...MLB.TV is my savior half of the calendar year! I don't watch every game nor focus on every pitch of very many games but it is always nice to have baseball on in the house whether it occupies my main focus or serves as background noise. That said...I never thought I would pay for MLB.TV OVER a White Sox "channel"...but next year I might just be doing that!
  23. I dialed in the Cedar Rapids station that is listed and it comes in crystal clear at my place. That said...it was a couple of weeks ago and they weren't transitioned over to CHSN yet. I will have to give it a shot tonight to see what is up with it.
  24. They are listed on the website...I think they reorganized the layout/links...but the Cedar Rapids/Des Moines stations are still listed: https://www.chsn.com/faq
