Is “The 78” Dead? Part XIII, Ishbia buys an Amtrak depot
Aaaaaand...it isn't as simple as stacking blocks on top of each other. There are tunnels and tombs on different levels in there...extremely complicated! And...there were many failed attempts at building pyramids in that era.

Ishbia taking control by 2029?
He likely would have been buying their debt along with the team...right?

Arlington Heights making stadium pitch to White Sox?
Respectfully...why not? It isn't like he will be new to the situation. He knows more than we do what is going on. I would be shocked if he doesn't have a plan in mind already for what he wants to do and what it will cost. And millions would likely be on the smaller end of the expenditures...

Rick Hahn talks rebuild and collapse
I can't believe MLB.TV even invited him on as a guest...

Mount Rushmore of Infamy
Pedro Grifol is a great mention...because his face alone represents the embarrassment this organization produced from the moment he was hired to this very current day! He is not responsible for it...not all of it at least...but he will forever be linked with the most embarrassing stretch of baseball for our beloved organization! So: Pedro Jerry Tony (v.2) and...hmmm...wish I could think of a 4th that would represent a different era...but with this clown show of late it is hard to find a person who lived "down" to this standard!

New City-Connects: Bulls / Sox collab
I feel the same way...BUT...all 3 of my boys already talked me into ordering some of the new stuff. I have a feeling this new look would sell big-time! I am glad we are keeping the Southside uniform in the rotation as it ranks up there with the best!

Can Shane Smith win AL Rookie of Year?
I would love to see that happen...however, love Paul Skenes but if these awards are a popularity contest...people like Jackson Merrill (who had a helluva rookie season) finish behind the beauty queen. Is Chase a beauty queen or a very solid ballplayer? I know those questions aren't answered yet...but I think it would take an INCREDIBLE year for him to win that award.

Ownership breakdown: ishbias 35%, Reinsdorfs 50%
This is a good take! When people read about Jerry's "kids taking over" or whatever...how old are Jerry's kids? I am guessing they are at or around retirement age themselves? Jerry isn't passing this down to some 25 year old who needs to build a future! I understand that one generation would likely want to continue to pass that stability down...but Jerry's kids are not "kids"!

Korey Lee not traded | GOAT James Bond: ?
I thought it was a very good April Fool's joke...however, my first thought was "no way the White Sox are starting Teel's clock this early"!

19 Bally RSN's going bankrupt, 14 MLB teams potentially affected
Meaning for TV rights and marketing purposes...MLB allows all 6 Midwest teams to claim Iowa as their territory...so that is why Iowa gets 6 teams blacked out on the national MLB.TV streaming service.

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
That one still grinds on me...a symptom of one of the many things that the White Sox do that causes problems...it is OK to hire outside the "family" occassionally! UGH...

19 Bally RSN's going bankrupt, 14 MLB teams potentially affected
I agree with what you are stating...but if Iowa is all 6 of those organizations "territories"...then they should be considered their "in-market". Sure that is just my opinion...but all 6 organizations claim Iowa as home markets...what is the difference between living in Dubuque, Iowa and Naperville? Both communities are in White Sox "territory"...these "black-outs" suck! That said...I have access to the games via free antenna so I watched yesterday...but it sucks to live in Iowa in regards to MLB.TV (and sucks for some other reasons as well...but won't go there in this forum)!

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
In Cedar Rapids, Iowa...the picture was awesome over the air! Felt strange though to not be able to rewind to watch an AB or whatever...but it was free...
-
CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
When I get home...watching over the air via antenna. Had my hopes up to watch via MLB.TV when that other thread stated that there aren't any blackouts impacting Midwest teams...but that doesn't appear to be true.

19 Bally RSN's going bankrupt, 14 MLB teams potentially affected
Yeah...I clicked on the games for all of the teams the state of Iowa is blacked-out from...and each link provided on MLB.TV said those games are blacked-out! So still no White Sox, Cubs, Brewers, Twins, Royals or Cardinal games for those living in Iowa via MLB.TV...UGH! Wonder that that article was intending because the way I read it made it sound as though only 3 teams will be blacked out on MLB.TV.

I hope that reads like I think it reads...although I am not sure I believe it!

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
I can pull in CHSN crystal clear in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area...BUT...I have watched the Blackhawks a few times...great picture! BUT...when the Bulls have been on I get a screen that says something like (paraphrasing) "this event can't be aired". What? Are they blacking markets out of the "over the air" channel? Is this happening to anyone else? I sure hope it doesn't happen with the Sox games...

New City-Connects: Bulls / Sox collab
I read somewhere that the new "City-Connect" uniforms are debuting May 2. Anyone else see that?

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
I assumed a year or two...figure it is cordial and involving polite discussions and mutual respect. Convinced JR offered a plan that led to Ishbias backing away from MSP...and in return the Ishbias are going to let JR set the pace of transition...and a timeline that is most likely already set. Just a guess though...I don't have much experience in the lives of billionaires! 😁

New City-Connects: Bulls / Sox collab
That would make sense. I get that turning uniform styles/designs over creates more buyers who want the new look...but our SouthSide stuff is all-time great in my opinion! Especially stacked up against some the ridiculous looks the City-Connect stuff has produced.

New City-Connects: Bulls / Sox collab
Why dump such a popular look? Kids these days with their "limited edition" attraction! LOL...my son is a Padres fan and this will crush him!

New City-Connects: Bulls / Sox collab
My apologies if this was covered in a different post...this popped up on my Facebook account...hadn't seen anything about this until now. Hope it isn't true. I know whether a person likes/dislikes a look is a personal/relative thing...but I LOVE our City-Connect look! I fear that whatever they come-up with can't meet the standard of our "current" City-Connect unis! Anyone else hear this?

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
If what we think is going on is going on...this isn't swapping baseball trading cards! Not happening by writing it out on a cocktail napkin. These things get done when they get done...and they aren't going to announce it until it gets done (if it is even happening). Billions of dollars involved here...it isn't a handshake and a wink. Confusion for the fans...who cares? I am one of them and I enjoy this story...but it isn't changing anything about how I go about my day. I hope Ishbia buys the White Sox...but I am not expecting it to be today or next week...

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
What does the issue of an expiring lease do for/against JR? Does it make the team more/less valuable? I get that many of us want a shiny new park (I DO!!)...but what impact would it have on the value of the franchise if JR decided to sign a lease for the use of the current park for 10 or 20 years?
