Can't a neighborhood stand on its own? I mean...there are plenty of neighborhoods in Chicago that don't have a professional sports team located in it...that are destinations for a night out or a place to hang! Sure I get nostalgic when I think of my grandfather taking me to games at 35th and Shields in the 70s-90s...but time marches on! Nostalgia is not going to slow Ishbia down...nor should it! Aren't the Bears looking for some type of entertainment complex in addition to a stadium? Doesn't seem like Bridgeport would work for them if it won't work on 81+ dates for the White Sox? Although can't see NW Indiana becoming a destination either! How would Bridgeporters feel with 75,000 fans showing up on 10 Sundays a year? And for concerts (do concerts still draw those numbers??

The renderings are just a VERY vague idea of what is being proposed...that is all! Hell...there is a set of lights directly behind home plate! That isn't happening! The story is WHERE Mr Ishbia is planning to build...and what he planning to build! Critiquing the renderings is a waste of time at the moment...the vision is there...it is going to happen...and it is going to be spectacular!

I don't know the exact specifications...but Petco (my favorite park) seems very high yet closer to the foul lines...and it rocks! I think the upper deck needs to be as close to the field as engineering would allow...not sure if modern technology can allow upper decks to be situated closer to the field than they did in 1990 (without the poles like old Comiskey had)?

Wait...isn't the "south loop" on the South Side? I mean...that might be part of his thinking...otherwise he might have considered relocating in Wheeling, Hoffman Estates or Gurnee? I don't have access to his thinking...but not sure how this planned relocation offends the entire South Side? If there is no extension...it leaves a lot more options on the table in the next calendar year than simply signing him or not! If he is intent on going into free agency...then the White Sox must check his value and determine whether they benefit most from keeping him into free agency or trading him for controllable assets.

Benetti talked about the history of the White Sox all the time! And he did incorporate things like "Sox Math" or whatever it was called...but even that included White Sox history! Night and day difference between Benetti and Scriff. Not even close! As I said in my post...time and place! Scriff doesn't get that! It as though he forgets he is broadcasting TO White Sox fans...and the basic interview type questions he asks Stone to answer are annoying as well! Maybe he is better suited for an ESPN type broadcast...maybe!

The Saturday evening broadcast...7th inning I believe....out of nowhere Scriff starts talking about Caitlyn Clark...that he has tickets to go watch her Sunday night (??)...and I think Stone had no idea what to say. Eventually Stone chimes in (paraphase) with "well, if this (White Sox v Mets) game keeps going the way it has, tomorrow's game will determine who wins the series"... WTF Scriff? WHO CARES! Time and place Scriff...he is just so bad!

I agree that he is authentic in the sense that Plesac knows White Sox history and grew up a fan. I also enjoy hearing his experiences in baseball. BUT...I feel the past few times he has subbed in on the broadcasts that he does "force" his fandom into his analysis. He wants that gig full-time and he thinks reminding everyone he is a White Sox fan will help him get that gig. He mentions it constantly...
