  1. In Cedar Rapids, Iowa...the picture was awesome over the air! Felt strange though to not be able to rewind to watch an AB or whatever...but it was free...
  2. When I get home...watching over the air via antenna. Had my hopes up to watch via MLB.TV when that other thread stated that there aren't any blackouts impacting Midwest teams...but that doesn't appear to be true.
  3. Yeah...I clicked on the games for all of the teams the state of Iowa is blacked-out from...and each link provided on MLB.TV said those games are blacked-out! So still no White Sox, Cubs, Brewers, Twins, Royals or Cardinal games for those living in Iowa via MLB.TV...UGH! Wonder that that article was intending because the way I read it made it sound as though only 3 teams will be blacked out on MLB.TV.
  4. I hope that reads like I think it reads...although I am not sure I believe it!
  5. Cedar Rapids, Iowa has a local affiliate over-the-air. This is from the network's webpage: Q. Besides Chicago, where else is CHSN available over the air? A. CHSN is currently available on the following over-the-air channels. Chicago, IL: WJYS, 62.2 and 62.3 Rockford, IL: WSLN, 19.3 and 19.4 South Bend, IN: WNDU, 16.2 and 16.4 Indianapolis, IN: WHMB, 40.2 and 40.6 Des Moines, IA: KDMI, 19.3 Milwaukee, WI - WVTV - Channel 24.4 Grand Rapids, MI - WWMT - Channel 3.4 Peoria, IL - WHOI - Channel 19.4 Sioux City, IA: KMEG, 14.5 Cedar Rapids, IA: KWKB, 20.5 Ft. Wayne, IN: WEIJ, 38.3 Edgerton, OH: WINM, 12.3 Coming Soon Champaign/Springfield, IL Paducah, KY Quincy, IL
  6. I can pull in CHSN crystal clear in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area...BUT...I have watched the Blackhawks a few times...great picture! BUT...when the Bulls have been on I get a screen that says something like (paraphrasing) "this event can't be aired". What? Are they blacking markets out of the "over the air" channel? Is this happening to anyone else? I sure hope it doesn't happen with the Sox games...
  7. I read somewhere that the new "City-Connect" uniforms are debuting May 2. Anyone else see that?
  8. I assumed a year or two...figure it is cordial and involving polite discussions and mutual respect. Convinced JR offered a plan that led to Ishbias backing away from MSP...and in return the Ishbias are going to let JR set the pace of transition...and a timeline that is most likely already set. Just a guess though...I don't have much experience in the lives of billionaires! 😁
  9. That would make sense. I get that turning uniform styles/designs over creates more buyers who want the new look...but our SouthSide stuff is all-time great in my opinion! Especially stacked up against some the ridiculous looks the City-Connect stuff has produced.
  10. Why dump such a popular look? Kids these days with their "limited edition" attraction! LOL...my son is a Padres fan and this will crush him!
  11. My apologies if this was covered in a different post...this popped up on my Facebook account...hadn't seen anything about this until now. Hope it isn't true. I know whether a person likes/dislikes a look is a personal/relative thing...but I LOVE our City-Connect look! I fear that whatever they come-up with can't meet the standard of our "current" City-Connect unis! Anyone else hear this?
  12. If what we think is going on is going on...this isn't swapping baseball trading cards! Not happening by writing it out on a cocktail napkin. These things get done when they get done...and they aren't going to announce it until it gets done (if it is even happening). Billions of dollars involved here...it isn't a handshake and a wink. Confusion for the fans...who cares? I am one of them and I enjoy this story...but it isn't changing anything about how I go about my day. I hope Ishbia buys the White Sox...but I am not expecting it to be today or next week...
  13. What does the issue of an expiring lease do for/against JR? Does it make the team more/less valuable? I get that many of us want a shiny new park (I DO!!)...but what impact would it have on the value of the franchise if JR decided to sign a lease for the use of the current park for 10 or 20 years?
  14. But what does JR gain in return for being the "bad" guy this go-around? Vengeance against some owners? Against the union? I sure hope he isn't obsessed with that mindset in his last years of life. If he thought he could do something that would "save the game" or the likes then yeah...but would he really want to go out as the "hatchet man"?
  15. Apologize if this has been covered in the 20 pages...but is a "formal" announcement about something happening coming Friday or will this involve a bunch of reporters looking for leaks about a private meeting? Either way this is exciting...
  16. But in what context? If the other owners don't like/respect the ideas of JR...they won't care one bit what he wants or how he wants things done in terms of a CBA. The owners don't need a "bad" guy...this is an entirely different era than the early 90s. Now if the "bad" guy means tough decisions for the White Sox? Well...he already is that! LOL...
  17. It is intriguing...but does JR have nearly the sway/power he had in the 90s among the owners? I am guessing not even close to it! Does he even have the energy to take that battle on? We all know he is a union-buster...but I just can't believe the ownership groups in MLB pay much attention to JR these days.
  18. Is he the guy that hit Abreu in the helmet?
  19. The channel is live in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa market...comes in crystal clear at my place. Still seems odd for me to switch inputs to watch a "Chicago" channel...but at least it works at this point!
  20. Ugh...he was the best! What a great person...and for White Sox fans...he was the perfect manager at the perfect moment for this franchise!
  21. And Jerry has cleared the organization of major financial commitments that any potential buyer would have to consider. Not saying he is doing this on purpose...but think if the Dodgers were put up for sale with their payroll structure at the moment. One would have to take a long hard look at the financial obligations just in terms of player pay. This situation sucks for fans, sadly Jerry seems to be creating an opportunity for a new owner to have as clean of a start as possible. Again, not suggesting he is doing this on purpose.
  22. MLBTradeRumors...Brewers: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/12/brewers-reportedly-engaged-in-garrett-crochet-market.html
  23. Brewers?? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/12/brewers-reportedly-engaged-in-garrett-crochet-market.html
  24. Now they switched the Cedar Rapids channel back to the "coming soon" column!
  25. Easier to hide/hold a pitcher or a hitter when acquired via Rule 5? I feel like a pitcher might be easier to justify a roster spot...
