Guardians move to 3rd best MiLB system, Sox 26th
kind of nice to see the team climb out of the basement on this, basically entirely buoyed by Montgomery's ascent as a prospect. Hopefully Project Birmingham proves effective.

Kopech to IL, Martin up.
At least with Kopech there (seemingly) was a strategy to give him periodic rest for innings management anyways, so I am guessing it was somewhat of a no-brainer for that reason.

Benetti adding to his resume
As a side note, I would love to have Benetti and Brockmire call a game together. Benetti as the "straight man" setting up Brockmire would be a sight to behold.

Benetti adding to his resume
Huh. It's almost as if this organization tolerates mediocrity in its public-facing product out of some sense of loyalty. I hope it doesn't bleed over to the on-field product. That would be a shame.

Second Tier
That, and the fact that Vaughn never played OF tells me that he isn't an outfielder. I commend him for seizing the opportunity to break into the big leagues, but at some point the org should strive for something beyond a second-tier solution.

Josh Harrison
Muncy just signed an extension, so he's off the table.

Menechino is movable
Makes sense, given the lack of mask in the video.

Would be curious to see the rest of the team's stats in this situation. Read: "someone please look it up because I'm too lazy"

Second Tier
You're right. It's pretty plain. For his career: 1B: .776 OPS (104 AB) DH: .802 OPS (126 AB) LF: .748 OPS (377 AB) RF: .685 OPS (173 AB)

Menechino is movable
I think that was from late 2020 or early 2021. At the time I was actually on board with it. The offense had relied so incredibly heavily no the home run that it was feast-or-famine a lot of games. I interpreted his "fuck the home run" attitude as a "let's focus on good at-bats as a primary approach, and home runs will come." Not "don't hit home runs." You know - I was viewing it though a lens of common sense.

White Sox vs. Royals 8/22 1:10CDT (Kopech vs. Lynch)
AV has an .800 OPS. His WAR is 0.6, but that's 100% because of his defense. I'm failing to see how he's a massive disappointment.

Yes.

Josh Harrison
Pretty much. He's giving us what any reasonable person could have expected out of him at this stage in his career.

Pretty sure I disagree on at least 2 of those 5 (if not 3), at least if you're expecting to have some semblance of competency.- White Sox vs. Royals 8/22 1:10CDT (Kopech vs. Lynch)

Agree. Still - so many chances to win somehow, and they just manage to piss it all away every time.- Menechino is movable
