Robbie Grossman traded to TEX for RHP Anthony Hoopii-Tuionetoa
JoeC replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Maybe. That’s one way to look at it. another perspective is that he hasn’t really moved the needle at all in terms of the org. Sure, he’s made nice little deals here and there, but it seems like there isn’t a lot done to fundamentally shift the organization’s core standing, besides the Cease and maybe Bummer trades. -
From an athletic and drive standpoint, thousands of kids suffer overuse injuries that become lifelong ailments, and countless others just get burned out and build up resentment toward the sports. That’s what I mean by “ruined.” I’ve seen it in dozens of kids in my direct involvement. It’s not a stretch to extrapolate that single point of reference to thousands of kids.

Somehow the best post of the thread. That's where we are as an organization.
-
I felt bad nobody responded to this, so here ya go. What a sad season.

White Sox Baseball: never mind our history. Let’s just look the other way… towards the future

Yes, but that’s every thread for me.

Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record

I'm not sure of the math exactly, but my gut tells me that Pham is on pace for about 193 RBI and 75 HR. MVP, but that goes without saying. -

You don’t. But the Sox do.

The pressures put on youth sports players by the system and parents is ruining thousands of kids. overuse injuries and burnout are far too common.
-
To each their own. Some people would gladly take that cash. Others would rather not, and they shouldn't be judged for that.
-
That would be hysterical.
-
I think Kopech could become a valuable piece of he shows extended flashes of success. Pham - also yes. Would be worth a B-level prospect to a contender. Crochet could be valuable to a team who thinks a) he's a shut-down reliever for 2024; and b) he can be effective as a starter long-term.

Pitchers add stuff to their repertoire fairly commonly. It’s not all that rare, and, as bad as this org is, I wouldn’t read into it much.

This cuts deep.

As player-manager? Either way, I'm game.
-
To rookie ball? Oof….
-
I wonder if you can trade your All-Star rep spot….
-
I disagree. Pham was the only thing between us and multiple parades.
-
Not gonna lie - I was extremely excited for about a half second when I saw this: I definitely misread the logo as part of the text.
-
Pham not in the starting lineup? 3-24 Pham in the starting lineup? 3-0. Clearly he was the only piece standing between the Sox and multiple parades.
-
If that were the case, they should invent the intentional strikeout. Give hitters a chance to just walk away with their dignity.

Being a "former top prospect" will keep you from completely falling off the face of the earth, and someone will give you another shot. Someone will give you a minor league roster spot or an NRI to spring training to see if you can capture whatever it was that got you noticed to begin with. It won't help bring up your trade value as a big league player.
