  1. Food ideas? What about soul food? Salvadorean? Pupusas are always a favorite.
  2. 4-5 pound beef roast 1 large onion, coarsely chopped 1 jar of giardiniera in vinegar 1 jar pepperocini peppers 1 packet zesty italian dressing mix 2 beef bouillon cubes 10 or so cloves of garlic (whole) Water (or stock) to cover 80-90% of the ingredients ”seal” the beef by lightly browning the roast on all sides dump everything in a slow cooker. Use enough fluid to cover 80-90% of the roast. Use the liquids from the jars as well. cook on low overnight or about 18 hours
  3. I think this should be a new game thread theme. let’s talk about food.
  4. Most. Kind of like how the Sox are trash, but they're still better than most minor league teams. They're more expensive, though.
  5. Fair enough. Personally Vito & Nick's on Pulaski is my favorite non-Neapolitan pizza in the world. I just wanted to make sure Detroit wasn't being punished for giving the world Little Caesar's. I can't even call that s%*# "pizza."
  6. 1. Thank you for listing Tavern Cut as the representative Chicago pizza. 2. If you haven't already, please consider Buddy's Pizza before judging. Or Grandma Bob's (in Corktown near old Tiger Stadium).
  7. ....so will he be penciled in as the #2 or #3 starter to open 2024, then?
  8. "quickly" is the answer we were looking for.
  9. So how will this game be blown?
  10. Shouldn't he know? I mean, in theory, he was in charge of that sort of thing, at least up through the minors.
  11. I see it more as a "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" strategy to keep negative comments about the team private. I certainly don't fault him for THAT.
  12. “It’s important to provide stability for our players” Really? THAT is the takeaway, Chris? What is it about this team, the effort you see, the body language they show… what is it about them that led you to THIS conclusion? They need a shakeup and actions that clearly communicate that accountability is first and foremost. If you aren’t pulling your weight and holding each other (as players) accountable, then management will hold you accountable.
  13. They can’t even suck properly.
  14. Good thing JR removed the dude in charge of player development from THAT position.
  15. True, though that was also a bit of a weird circumstance with COVID, injury (2019), and lockout.
  16. …so the organizational failure in Kopech’s case was a broader failure in failing to develop a pipeline of starters
  17. TINSSAAPP There Is No Such Thing As a Pitching Prospect. Not that i agree with that sentiment, but then fact is that arms fade, and you’re far less likely to have continued success as a starting pitcher as opposed to basically any other position. Kopech may just be an arm that fades (loses velocity) that belongs in the ‘pen, or a headcase that needs to be cut loose. Either way, I’m chalking him up as a failed starter that we need to move on from. These things just happen.
  18. Tigers players pretty pumped up after that DP. when’s the last time you saw that out of our guys?
  19. A lot of people dressed as green seats today
  20. RR was the right guy to teach the young'ins how to play hard at the big league level. He seemed to hold players accountable, and guys played hard for him. Under TLR it was a fucking shitshow, unless you dared swing full-on off of a position player with a 3-0 count late in an unreachable game. THEN the life lessons would come out, publicly.
  21. Yes! I can see all the championships from this window. Nice, clear view of the Dodgers, Braves, . . . .
  22. Yeah .500 is a pipe dream.
  23. "Mediocre" to me is sub-.500. .500 would qualify as "average" or "okay" or "competent." All a notch above "mediocre."
  24. That's what we thought with AJ Pollock....
