QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 01:23 PM) E-Jax to bullpen = epic fail for KW. I know why you're saying this, but if Hudson was still here he'd also be the one going to the pen in this situation.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 01:38 PM) The Mariners released Manny Delcarmen today. He hasn't been good for a couple years now and was not good in AAA, but he was real good before. I gotta imagine he is better than Bruney or Marquez. I think we should make a play for him. Didn't we almost trade Jermaine Dye for Delcarmen and Wily mo Pena?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 01:33 PM) I thought Rosie O'Donnell and Oprah both quit their daytime talkshow gigs?

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 11:46 AM) The scary part is that Barcelona is basically the Spanish National Team without obviously Messi, they are gonna be even harder to beat in the next WC as long as they stay healthy, IMO. They aren't the youngest team in the world though and three years can make a big difference on health, especially since some of them are already having issues (I'm looking at you Fernando Torres). It's a long ways off, but Brazil and Argentina are going to be awfully difficult to beat in 2014

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 01:15 PM) No offense, but don't you think almost any Sox starter would have said the same thing when approached and asked by a writer? Except for Mark, maybe. I would assume Danks would have the same quotes if asked about going to the pen. Basically jackson said he didn't want to do it, but would do it for the team. Who is not going to say that publicly? It's not like he went to all six and asked all six. He's in a contract year and his agent is Scott Boras. I could have totally seen him saying he wouldn't pitch out of the bullpen.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 09:44 AM) True, but Martinez's OPS on the season is 200 + points higher. I'd leave Martinez in W-S until the first half of the seasons are over. Remember, this is his first sustained success since his catastrophic injury. Doesn't hurt to let him get into a comfortable groove. Let him finish out the year in AA and hopefully he adjusts well. If so start him there next year and see if he can make the jump to AAA at some point.

QUOTE (zenryan @ May 31, 2011 -> 10:48 PM) I was discussing this on another forum with a Wings fan and he brings up Detroit being in the Eastern time zone as a reason why its a logical move. Plus he brought up Detroit being the best road attendance team as another reason. Detroit visiting Florida,Carolina,Islanders a couple of times a year is better than having Columbus,Dallas or Nashville traveling to those cities. I'd personally like to see Nashville move to the East. It would strengthen the Southeast Division without taking a big force out of the Western Conference. Detroit wants to move East but I just don't see it happening. What would they do? Place them in the SE? Shift Pittsburgh, Philly or NJ to the SE? It'd make much more sense moving Dallas to the East (SE) and then Winnipeg to the NW with Vancouver shifting to the Pacific. Or doing something with moving Nashville to the SE, Winnipeg to the NW and Chicago to the Central. Also, Phoenix is in trouble and Quebec City is making a push for a team. If that were to happen for 2012-2013 they'd obviously move East.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 09:30 PM) You must be crazy. This reminds me of when everybody wanted to lock CQ up in May of '08. If he's still pitching like this at the ASB you wouldn't see if he'd bite at a cheap two year deal or something like that?
-
This actually does ask a legitimate question. At what point during the year do we try locking him up for a couple more seasons?

Jenks looks noticeable slimmer

So ya, Lilli needs to start playing more. I'm ready to give Rios some time off

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) No. That explains why he did not see Burrow's hair pulling incident against Keith., and those fights in general. Ok, my bad. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 31, 2011 -> 03:19 PM) I hope they are able to call them the Jets. Apparently they are debating that right now. The league owns the rights to the name and logos and stuff so they'd have to get their permission. I'd assume the league would allow it - they allowed it with the Senators and they are always looking for ways to make a quick buck. I hope they allow it and I'm sure we'll know before the draft. I have heard one possibility would be Falcons and another is transferring the name of the current AHL team, the Manitoba Moose. I hope the latter does not happen.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) I'd normally want Danks going in a must-win game, but that apparently isn't the case right now. I'd have to say Peavy or Humber at the moment. Bet you never thought you'd say that in March.

QUOTE (T R U @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:03 PM) yeah ide rather have Buehrle and his mighty 84 MPH fastball on the hill.. hes a soft tossing lefty, ide rather have Edwin Jackson going in a big game over MB every time.. Makes sense. I mean Edwin Jackson has produced much better results than what Mark has ever or continues to do.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 26, 2011 -> 12:23 PM) No official news yet, but an unofficial report has Posey with a broken leg and torn ligaments. Awful news for such a young talented player. This is bringing up some good discussion as to why catchers are even allowed to block home plate. Blocking any other base is against the rules, but home plate is OK. It's not like this is the first injury that has happened in a home plate collision. It's bringing it up because it was Buster Posey who was injured. If this were Henry Blanco or Chris Snyder it barely would have been mentioned. Is it a smart idea to block the plate? That is certainly debatable. But I don't think this necessitates any sort of rule change. It's unfortunate, especially since he's such a promising, young player, but injuries happen in every sport.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 26, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) Oh.. other than the hair pulling, whining to officials and cheap shots, not to mention constant diving on the ice, he is a saint. I don't watch much of the Western Conference so I don't know of any of the incidents you mention. As for the whining and diving, come on, that's so prevalent nowadays in hockey its ridiculous. And even if he takes it to a new extreme (I dont know) that hardly warrants those labels. There are plenty of players in this league that get chastised for cheap play but i cant recall his name name often comeing up during those discussions.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 25, 2011 -> 05:38 PM) FM =/= goons and douchebags. Burrows, Bieksa, Torres, all douchers. Really? I guess terminology must be changing. Nothing really wrong with Burrows and at least Bieksa actually will back up his s***. I gave you Torres. Either way, three guys hardly constitutes a "team full of goons and douchebags". And it's ironic since the Blackhawks play John Scott. The epitome of a goon.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2011 -> 04:21 PM) It's just mind boggling how stupid Ozzie is with his personnel. Maybe Washington shared some of his coke with him last night? What does that have to do with anything?
