I had American Pharaoh, Dortmund and Frosted (4th) in a trifecta box. So close!

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 4, 2015 -> 06:14 AM) Tim Beckham went first overall and Gordon Beckham's 2009 is better than anything Tim Beckham has done during his career. Don't let facts get in the way of a good unrelated, tangential statement! -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 1, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) Are the 6 cops charged all white? At least 3 of them are, based on an image I have seen from the initial arrest. The driver's name sounds like he may be Hispanic but you never know.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 1, 2015 -> 02:31 PM) Except all those other ways to die should be broken down into wilfull/malicious negligence as the primary cause...then it changes things quite a bit. Of course, if you put drunk driving and a policeman killing a suspect deliberately in the same category subjectively, then this makes sense. For example, getting hit by lightning while golfing tends to be self-inflicted and often avoidable, right? I will agree that child mortality rates should go down, but, once again, have they risen because of malpractice on the part of doctors and nurses? Whats the real underlying or endemic cause? With the CHIP and AFCA, mortality rates should be falling, not rising. You completely missed the point of the article in favor of writing out gibberish, again.

This is an article from an unlikely source (Fox Sports) that details this in a very interesting way. http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/...-of-mail-050115

Really hoping Kansas City can get one of Strong, DGB or Coates in the 2nd. If not I'd like them to wait until the 3rd and get Justin Hardy. They need a WR that can help out right now. Their #2 WR is currently Jason Avant. Yuck.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ May 1, 2015 -> 09:21 AM) I think I hate this team this year. As of right now, I know I hate this team. This may the most disappointed/disheartened I've been with a White Sox team so early ever. I'm already starting to not care. Something has to happen, this team is completely out of it. I hate piling on, but Robin Ventura has got to go. Rick Hahn had better already be talking to people, because you just can't let a season go down the s***ter as royally as this is heading after an off-season like you just had. edit: For disclosure, it's nothing at all personal against RV. He was a great player and great member of the organization. I just think he he's a terrible manager.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 1, 2015 -> 07:45 AM) Since I had to go back to 2010, I'm guessing there's not much interest here, but this race is kinda a big deal where I live. Anybody else paying attention? I love the Derby. I watch it every year. I'm hoping that next year will be the year I can make it down there. I'll probably place a few bets on it tomorrow as well.

On the other hand, how many QBs not drafted in the 1st or 2nd round really ever get legitimate chances?
-
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 09:23 AM) Here is a list of good qb's taken outside the first two rounds of the draft over the past ten years. Russell Wilson. Maybe Matt Schaub. He was pretty good for a few years. There's been a few others that were decent: Orton, Cassell, Fitzpatrick, Foles, Cousins. Maybe Mallett. But your point remains.

Just keep Samardzija in for the regular ~100 pitches. No point in stretching the bullpen any more than you have to at this point -

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 01:28 PM) I thought every run after the error is unearned? If it would have been out number 3 yes, otherwise no.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 12:36 PM) Apparently the Browns are going to trade up for Mariota. Lol Manziel. Also, I'm hoping the marijuana arrest leads to Shane Ray falling to the Bears in the second. I could not care less about marijuana arrests. Whoever this is: Russell Lande @RUSSLANDE Heard that Falcons told Missouri DE S. Ray that they will draft him 7th overall, The Packers are targeting LB D. Perryman with the (2 of 3) QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 12:39 PM) Here is more on that possible Browns draft. If they do this and Mariota ends up being bad. The NFL should just put that team down. Again. @SportsCenter Browns offer two 1st-round picks to Titans for No. 2 overall selection, where they would plan to take Marcus Mariota. (via @PatMcManamon) Paul Kuharsky @PaulKuharskyNFL #Titans source: #Browns have not made an offer for No. 2.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 08:51 AM) Unless they're saving it for next season, they're definitely skipping the Battle of Mereen. Too much big stuff already planned for episodes 8-10, and that's not including the battle of Winterfell, which might also be in play. And quite frankly, with only 2 to 2.5 seasons of the show left, I don't think they can waste much more time with Dany in Essos. Her invasion of Westeros will be one of the central plots of season six and that story needs to begin fairly early in order to be effective. But Dany isn't even close to invasion in the books. At present, it looks like if anything she may be recruiting herself a new khalasar, so that would still have to happen first. I know they say they want to be done in 7 seasons, but I really think they need to make it 8 to get everything that they should in. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 11:01 PM) I dont get this, its pretty clear he is one in the book. Lots of speculation he's actually a Blackfyre pretender. It would support the prophecy given to Dany about the "false dragon" -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 03:06 PM) Regarding Aegon, what is Varys going to do on the show if he's out of the picture? He stuck around Kings Landing in the books and took out Kevin & Pycelle to create chaos and better set up Westeros for Aegon's arrival. I don't see him doing that on behalf of Dany when he hasn't even met here. Any why send him to Essos on the show but not pair him with Tyrion & Jorah if he's really linked to Dany's cause? There's really no plot for Varys at this point if Aegon is gone. Was the Golden Company located in Volantis in the books? I thought it was interesting last week that Tyrion specifically asked Varys what's in Volantis. Maybe he's planning to meet up with the Golden Company there? Do we know Varys ends up in Meereen? Could he go back when he can't find Tyrion? They didn't re-introduce Kevan on the show for no reason, so I suspect something will still happen to him. -

There are two male actors who have been cast with no information as regards to what they are playing yet. Not likely, but you never know. http://winteriscoming.net/2015/03/30/game-...r-not-to-griff/ -

Adam Kilgore @AdamKilgoreWP 18m18 minutes ago Nats spokeswoman: "The Nationals have not been approached about the possibility of playing games at Nationals Park." Why not? What are they discussing then?

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 11:29 AM) Shane Ray was dumb for getting caught with some weed yesterday, but if he fell to the Packers, I would run that ticket up to the commissioner. Some people are saying he could fall to round 3 or 4 now, too, which I think is ridiculous. If he's there in the 2nd for Kansas City I hope they jump all over him. That is exactly how they got Justin Houston (3rd round) a few years ago

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) Unless it matters, have a feeling some of these games won't be made up If the whole series is cancelled, I'm sure there will be at least one DH in Chicago to make up one of the games when the O's are in town.
-
Great, another game called off thanks to these idiots. I really don't know why this can't take place in DC or even Philly. Hopefully they can somehow get a DH in tomorrow, somewhere, making up a whole series is brutal later on in the season.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 09:18 AM) He's probably been overlooked as far as prospect status. He's 25, but he probably should be in the Top 30 in the organization. The guy at one time was thought to be a potential top 5 round pick, struggled, got drafted in round 12 and then got hurt and fell to 29. There's definite talent there. He may never be a star but he could have himself a long career in some capacity.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 08:50 AM) All I'm doing is taking the same statements these people want to put out about the rioters breaking the law and applying them to the people who broke the law and actually killed a guy. No it's not. All your doing is trying to twist words and phrase things in ways that insinuate that the person is saying something they are not in an attempt to deflect blame away from what is going on. The riots are uncivilized. There's no f***ing "if". It's seriously, maddeningly and frustratingly baffling, that some people here, and you especially, who are clearly extremely intelligent can be so obtuse sometimes, whether it is an act, or on purpose or just to play the devil's advocate card. There is no justifying those actions. And at the same time, no one is defending what happened prior to the riots. Some of you guys are trying so hard to make it seem like people are excusing the police, but despite how many times it's repeated, does not make it true. The rioters are uncivilized, no one is extrapolating that out to equal "the whole African american community". That is stupid. Just as stupid as blaming an entire police force for the actions for a few. Just as stupid as blaming an entire group of anyone or anything because of the actions of a small amount of that said group. Again, justification for what's going on apparently. I bet everyone who was been hurt in this in any type of capacity was 100% directly responsible for every slight against every rioting member right now. Good that they finally got what was coming to them I suppose.
