QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 09:13 AM) 14 team league QB: RG3 RB1: Foster RB2: Jones-Drew WR1:Fitzgerald WR2: Steve Smith TE: Sudfeld Flex: T. Austin/M. Austin D/ST: Bears Like every team in my league my bench is basically garbage and not worth talking about. That's a pretty legit first 4 rounds of picks for a 14 teamer -

Champions League groups are out. Man U Shakhtar Leverkusen Real Sociedad Real Madrid Juventus Galatassaray Copenhagen Benfica PSG Olympiacos Andelrecht Bayern Munich CSKA Moscow Manchester City Viktoria Plzen Chelsea Schalke Basel Steaua Bucharest Arsenal Marseille Dortmund Napoli Porto Atletico Madrid Zenit Austria Vienna Barcelona AC Milan Ajax Celtic That last group is a killer. Celtic is in trouble. Both teams with USMNT players (Schalke and Anderlecht) with decent draws and should have a chance to advance -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 29, 2013 -> 12:10 PM) I'm kind of Polish So am I. I just find it odd that that is the ONLY team you follow in Europe. The Polish League is way down the hierarchy over there. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 03:39 PM) Whew. I took him with the 4th pick in my draft, happy that he only misses one start. Do you do CFB fantasy online somewhere? Or does it have to be manually done offline. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 11:21 AM) Good luck to Celtic tonight. The only team I follow in Europe got knocked out of the CL last night, but the crazy fanbase did this: http://deadspin.com/this-is-how-you-protes...9525?autoplay=1 Legia Warsaw is the only team you follow in Europe? That's kind of random -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 01:57 PM) The NFL pressured ESPN to pull out of a project dealing with concussions, in case anyone wondered about ESPN's objectivity at all... http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/24/sports/f...e&_r=1& ESPN in general, is pretty much the worst

QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 12:50 PM) Who would you start as a 2nd flex...Andre Brown, Fred Jackson, Zach Sudfield, Tyler Eifert, Josh Gordon, or Ryan Broyles? Are one of the backup RBs worth starting over the potential of the other 4? Also is Sudfield worth hanging onto or should I pick up Heath Miller who's coming off an ACL injury and will miss a few games? EDIT-Just found out Gordon is suspended the first 2 games, so he's out. 1 - Once he's off suspension, Josh Gordon easily. 2 - Absolutely yes. Sudfeld > Miller even when Miller comes back (which won't be until week 6 or so I'd imagine) -

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 09:19 AM) That they cheated. I sleep better thinking that instead of crying over my 1 for 4. Too bad you couldn't have recruited a strikeout pitcher to counter them loading up -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 11:48 AM) I wonder if Lexi's back is acting up from the other day. Garcia has played a bit of CF in the minors so there's that too

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 11:33 AM) Don't see L Garcia getting much playing time if he comes up. I'd think the Sox would want to continue to carry 5 OF so Viciedo can DH on days off for Konerko/Dunn, but bringing up Mitchell doesn't make much sense, so I have no idea. Maybe they go with an extra pitcher for the next 10 days until rosters expand. No OF seems like they'd be the call-up. Can Tolleson or Ishikawa play OF? Otherwise it's probably Brent Morel if it's a position player.
-
Also since there's no catch-all...Blake Tekotte was optioned yesterday. Wonder who they're thinking of bringing up. Garcia?

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 11:11 AM) So is it Aviasail "The Truth" Garcia and Andre "The Truth " Rienzo now? Seems confusing having 2 players with the same nickname. I'd go with Andre "The Giant" Rienzo. Just use Portuguese for Rienzo. Andre "A Verdade" Rienzo. Actually kind of flows nicely.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 09:25 AM) 1. Two years at Bristol. 2. Not playing much. 3. Low BA. 4. Other young catchers are playing as much/more. 1. Not really. He barely played after being drafted as a still 17 year old kid last year. 2. He was 18-19 this season. 3. It's rookie ball. And he just turned 19. 4. So? Catchers often take longer to develop for many reasons. He was raw when drafted, out of high school, and signed well over slot value, so you can't just look at his draft round and make assumptions. His prospect status really shouldn't be changed at all since he was drafted last year. Would it have been nice to see him put up more tangible numbers? Sure. But we don't know what they're working on with him. Expecting him to play every day or fly up the organizational ladder is asking to be disappointed. -

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 19, 2013 -> 12:41 AM) I actually find Ryan Braun more detestable than A-Rod. Bruan is a steaming pile of malicious s***. A-Rod is a blundering, blustering narcissist, trapped by his own neurosis. Neither is particularly sympathetic but at least A-Rod's s***tiness can be viewed on the surface, Braun is rotten to the core but hides behind those big doe eyes. f***er. I agree with this completely. Ryan Braun should be looked at in a worse manner than A-Rod is. I'm also on board with Dempster being way out of line last night. I usually feel Girardi is an arrogant blow hard but I completely agree with him about last night. How Dempster stayed in the game is beyond me. I actually was rooting for A-Rod right before he hit that HR.

QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 12:51 PM) I obviously hope he breaks out, but in order to keep my sanity I try and hold back on expectations on prospects that young. Heck, I'm still waiting on Juan Silveiro to finally make his way to the big leagues....what's that you say? Speaking of, he's actually having a really good season in the California League this year. Still only 22.

Jozy Altidore and Michael Bradley are f***ing phenomenal. Johannsson looked really good in his short time too. Really pumped for the next two WCQs -
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 10:16 PM) Indeed. Let's pray. This guy is terrible. Let's not have caulfield fool us. Because 20 year old pitchers in their first full season of professional baseball can never improve

QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 13, 2013 -> 11:44 AM) At the casino this weekend while on a cruise the following happened at the blackjack table: Me, and 2 other guys were sitting at the table and for me I was on a pretty mild hot streak, I was up about 200 or so. Some random chick comes and sits in the anchor chair and plays one hand, then we get dealt a hand, dealer has a 5, I have 8s. I split the 8s (because you're supposed to) and one hand gets a 3 so I double it down, end up with 20. The other hand I get a 18. Bimbo to the far left has a pair of 10s and you'd think she'd just stand, since we want the dealer to have a 10 and bust but NOOOO she splits. We all at the same time are like "no don't split a 20 what the hell are you doing?" So she grins and does it anyway. She gets a 10 and an 8. The dealer's other card was... you guessed it... a 10, meaning he was going to bust on both of those cards. Instead, he ended up with a 21 and everyone at the table lost (where they'd have all won). Mind you I had just split AND doubled down and I had a lot of chips on the table... I was pissed. All of us at the table gave her dagger eyes and they all turned and looked at me, even the dealer. Sigh. This is cool at the poker table where your stupidity only affects you, but not so much at blackjack. Dumb b**** I hate playing blackjack with people who have no idea what they're doing. I often will just end up walking away or taking a break when that happens

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 10:26 AM) Team USA is something else. I have watched a few of their games on ESPN, just crazy power. And their pitchers are just fearless. Anything hit box and a glove is on it. Our team has a few of Jeff Halls bats, they are nice It really is insane to watch those games. Those guys would be pretty unstoppable on a field with no fence -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 10:12 AM) Im not calling Chili a liar, all I am saying is I have been playing for 18 years and he just declared himself the single greatest pitcher in all my 18 years playing softball /hawk Team USA should definitely be made aware of someone striking out 6 per game in slow pitch softball -

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 9, 2013 -> 09:53 AM) Yea I'm not believing 6 K's a game either, unless those teams just completely sucked ass. I pitch and I consider myself pretty good. We play 6-12 foot arc but I generally throw in the 15-18 range since it's never called. And I can put curve on it and knuckle it. If I get 1 strikeout a game it's great. 6 K's per game is either against 12 year olds, legally blind individuals or not exactly truthful -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 02:36 PM) No big deal, just his 5th team this year. Seattle -> Toronto -> Oakland -> Chicago -> Philadelphia How many more cities can he call home this year? His tax guy is going to have one hell of a time this next year with him.
