  1. I’m not for that trade, I just think that is what the compensation would be to get Ekeler. Being stupid at that age is one thing, but his weight and skipped activities is a red flag too. I wouldn’t draft Carter if he fell to number 9, in my mind the need for a left tackle is greater than the defensive line, given the depth at defensive line in the draft.
  2. Ekeler for a conditional fourth round pick?
  3. Did anyone read anything anywhere about tailgating getting banned in lot B and how you may have to purchase a tailgating spot in lot E to tailgate? A season ticket holder mentioned it yesterday but I haven’t gotten confirmation on this.
  4. That’s how I drafted today in my latest mock draft. It isn’t out of the realm of possibility for them to do, although Fitz did say on 670 that Adebawore needs to put on some weight to be the 3T in the NFL.
  5. I’m going to need to pull out pen and paper to start visualizing who the Bears have right now and where they will fit in on the depth chart to determine needs in the draft. I’ve run through so many mock drafts it’s hard to remember their needs versus when it makes sense to trade up or down. I still think going for Johnson or Skoronski makes sense with their first pick, unless they trade down and draft Calijah Kancey and pick a tackle in the second round. Or they forget about the three technique player this year and go for a defensive end.
  6. I don’t believe this yet, nobody else is reporting it yet. It does seem like more specifics need to be worked out. Same here. That is assuming they don’t get Calijah Kancey instead and a tackle in the first round. Do they still have the cap space to go get Brown and fill out the roster?
  7. So in your mind, they should have gotten one this year and one each year over the next three years? If Fields isn’t good, then what do the Bears do? I’d love to hear more from naysayers about what the Bears need to do if he’s not the guy. Why so defensive?
  8. They still have a chance at a franchise changing defender if Carter falls. I really don’t understand what else you expect from this trade aside from swapping Moore for a 2025 first round pick? What would you have expected? Age 25, reasonable length and contract terms for a team with close to $100M in cap room. What’s not to like? Remember Kevin White? What if the WR from TCU or OSU are a bust? And who would you suggest they go out and get to fix or replace that s%*# quarterback?
  9. Well my favorite mock draft simulator declined the trade so maybe that is a good sign! ?
  10. Yes, I rewatched the video. Engel too. Some bad defense and base running today.
  11. That’s fine. I just don’t want to see more Joe McEwing and Darryl Boston base running mistakes. And definitely no triple play blunders like that jackass Moncada had last year.
  12. More bad base running.
  13. Get the dumb sends out in ST. It’s bad enough I have to hear about Benintendi getting thrown out on the Cubs broadcast.
  14. Not sure how realistic this was, but it was fun.
  15. Would you be on board with a trade to the Colts?
  16. Thank you for sharing the nice article, it helps bring who Dave Wills was to life. My first call to the postgame show was with him and he made me feel like a million bucks on the air as a 6th grader. I’ll never forget it.
  17. Dave Wills, former White Sox pre and post game host, Elmhurst College alum and voice of the Tampa Bay Rays passed away at 58.
  18. My other train of thought would be to do something like you have proposed, but the player they get should be under contract for another year and be young enough to fit their roster. I would be okay with a draft like that. Building from the inside of the line as you have done makes sense. I would also be okay with this type of return. I would be underwhelmed if it didn’t include at least two first round picks and a second round pick.
  19. I know there’s a good reason to be concerned about what Carter did, but I still think some NFL team will select him high in the draft. I don’t think this hurts the Bears too much, there will be some team that is desperate for the quarterback and will trade them for what they want. My prediction is they will either draft Will Anderson or trade with the Colts to get picks (4, 2024 first and another pick) as well as a defensive player off their roster at a minimum. Where are all of you on this?
  20. I would love to hear about that sometime. Maybe we need a thread where everyone talks about their jobs and how they got into their field. We probably derailed this thread but I enjoyed learning about education from your perspective.?
  21. I appreciate hearing this from you, particularly about how you reach your students and what your district is doing to involve kids. The cricket idea would be a good one for the refugee kids since they would have a sense of belonging and meet other like minded kids. My wife has said she has kids come from countries like Poland and she’s not sure how the school helps these kids. Some kids know other languages and can translate for the other kids, but it’s not that kid’s responsibility to teach the other student. She does what she can for all of her students but with resource limitations it sounds like she can’t do it all for her kids. One other question for you - how is grading handled in your district when it comes to zeros? When I went to school kids had zeros for partial credit for turning something in, but now I guess they are giving 50% and can’t give zeros for missing assignments. That to me takes away from accountability.
  22. Hopefully he was one athlete that managed his money well and set himself up for life. What, this?
  23. I like that there is an emphasis on getting kids involved and connecting them to a teacher with a shared interest. Then a coach or club leader gets accountability out of their student athlete. What kinds of kids are the ones that the staff can’t connect with?
  24. What if online education isn’t for every kid? How would you start from scratch? Is being isolated from others the best thing for them at a K-12 age? I’m a little old school, but my dad made the point that education is needed to get a good job. Even if someone doesn’t need geometry for a future career, they need to take pre-reqs to get into programs and understand that what they learn today is what will help them meet educational demands of tomorrow. I always had a tough time understanding why so many kids talked during class and got away with it. I was in math and science classes that were lower level since I was misplaced. The kids that were in there were among the most disrespectful and were not willing to try to learn. I wish kids would understand school is not a happy hour and is their job. If they want to be social, join a club or sport or get it out in gym class instead of talking over the teacher in the classroom.
