I think bad umpiring is particularly harmful to a team like the Sox where so many of your innings/games are won and lost on the margins, so I get especially annoyed by it. And that's doubly true when we have so many young guys trying to dial in their zone understanding as is. And it's TRIPLY true when there's no consistency. If you're gonna call a bad zone, at least keep it the same bad zone and don't make guys guess.

Guards took a 1-0 lead once Skubal left the game in the 8th. Clase blows the save to take it to extras 1-1. They give up 6 in the 10th to lose 7-2. 10 straight losses, 15 runs scored total in that stretch.

He also seems to have the same ump luck as LRJ, where whenever he tries to lay off close pitches they get called against him.
