Like recognizing Moncada talent and trading away Burger -- who has been the best player in baseball after the All Star break? Like that?

Feels like the Sox got WAY more in return for Quintana trade than they did for Cease trade. Maybe I overrated Cease value but I thought it would be similar ... ?

Moncada played 2B most of his life. Burger played 3B most of his life. Seems obvious.

(1) He's really not. -.2 DWAR this year and .6 DWAR last year are not "elite" ... and if he hits .626 OPS like last year, his defense is irrelevant. However, this is also NOT the issue. (2) The issue is which combination puts the team in best position to win: 3B Moncada / 2B Andrus <---- Burger is not playing, or else you are log jamming with Sheets/Eloy/Vaughn which has been exhaustively proven to NOT work for 2 years now 3B Burger / 2B Andrus <----- Andrus sucks, why would you do this? 3B Burger / 2B Moncada <---- this is the obvious best choice; it puts the two better players on the field despite the potential defensive issues.

Its a thing because Burger at 3B, Moncada at 2B and Andrus on the bench yields a better overall lineup than Moncada at 3B, Andrus at 2B and Burger somewhere random. Whatever happens, Burger has to play. He's one of top two players on the team (with Robert) and sitting him is absurd. He's one of the only players generating any offense this year (and last). If you don't want Moncada to play at 2B, then put him on the bench.

(1) Play Burger at 3B. (2) Play Moncada at 2B if he ever gets healthy (and assuming he can even show the ability to hit better than Andrus/Romy/Sosa/Alberto, which is questionable). (3) Live with a few more errors on defense throughout the year. This is the way.

Can we let Santos hit? He actually seems like he cares ...

Play Burger at 3B and Moncada at 2B.
