  1. It's not just about Thorpe, it's about Iriarte and Zavala too.
  2. He might be immovable right now. Nothing other teams would offer would be an acceptable package.
  3. Right now, on June 18th 2024, the Cease trade looks like hot garbage. Plenty of time for that to change. Iriarte could get his s%*# together Thorpe could get his command back and show why he was damn near unhittable in the minors Zavala is 19 in A+, so he has plenty of time.
  4. There's still time for guys to turn it around, but the Cease trade looks like hot garbage rn.
  5. When Crochet gets traded, blame Rick Hahn. This is his f*** up.
  6. This type of talent is out of Jerry's price range. If he was on another team and about to be free, Jerry would laugh at the idea of signing him just like Ohtani. If Crochet stays healthy over the next 2.5 seasons, he's going to get one of the largest pitching FA deals as a 27 year old. You know how rare a 27 year old ace hitting FA is? Almost never happens.
  7. Pitching Ninja had a Crochet target practice video, he's really good at hitting his spots.
  8. Crochet doesn't walk anyone(shocker) He has a better K/BB than Sale in 2014.
  9. Me thinks Sox fans overvalued Cease. They got a fair deal.
  10. He averaged 91.8 mph in his first start and 90.6 mph today. That's a huge difference. Combine that with s%*# control, and you get 7 ER in 3.1 innings.
  11. I think that MLB hitters are so used to velocity now that that's no longer the case. Everyone throws hard, when 90 mph comes up there it looks like a beach ball.
  12. It's about both. Hitters can crush a 90 mph fastball anywhere in the zone. I've seen Crochet throw a perfectly placed 98 mph fastball and it still went out of the park. These are MLB hitters. They can hit any strike out of the park.
  13. If he's sitting 92-93 I think it can work, at 90-91 I'm not sure and leaning toward no.
  14. I would argue that despite their age, Crochet and Robert are in the exact same situation. They're not winning anything until after they're free. A 25 win improvement still only gets the Sox to 90 losses, and that's WITH Crochet/Fedde/Robert on the team.
  15. How much does Robert's slow start in average/obp affect his value? Slug/OPS+ is still there. EDIT: holy s%*# he has a .161 babip. That's insanely low.
