  1. It is possible that Hahn is in Time Out until the end of the season when he will be relieved of his duties. Harold has been hinting about this. Hahn spoke like someone who knows he's fired Tuesday.
  2. I did not know that Eder's stuff backed up so much after TJS/foot injury. I'd still rather have him than Burger, but the trade is more questionable with this info than beforehand. I do not expect the Sox to help him get his mid-90s stuff back as the org has no track record in that regard.
  3. Also, wasn't the ball really dead last year? This could be what happens to Cease when the ball isn't dead as a doornail.
  4. If Cease has an ERA close to 5 at the end of the season, that almost forces the Sox to hold onto him until next July/August.
  5. I've never been a huge Cease fan. You can't have the amount of success that Cease did in 2022 consistently when you walk as many batters as he does. His true level of performance is closer to 2021 and 2023 than 2022 and offers in trade going forward and yesterday were probably based on that expectation. The offers will only get worse from here. 2022 was his career year, I doubt Cease gets anywhere close to that again. Also, if the Ks start going away then his value really craters. He was having a hard time striking hitters out in 2019-20.
  6. Grandal and Andrus should be DFA. Give Sosa and Lee a look. s%*#, I'd give Patino a look too.
  7. All of the Sox pitching prospects that they had in 2018 except Giolito and Cease flamed out. It took them way too long to make Lopez a reliever and they're doing the same damn thing with Kopech.
  8. Any chance they DFA Moncada some time next season? So sad what's happened to the guy. It's a baseball tragedy. Dude was so talented.
  9. Please tell me Hahn and Grifol are about to get whacked in October. Anyway, there's zero reason for anyone other than Lee, Sosa and Colas to get the majority of the PT at C/2B/RF respectively for the rest of the year.
  10. I heard Patino is going to Charlotte. He's out of options next year and only 23 so there are worse players to stay on the roster. I'd at least give him a shot in the bullpen as the mop up guy in '24.
  11. I gave him a D for not trading Cease but liking the returns otherwise
  12. The fact that the Guardians traded Civale today means that they realize that winning the ALC means nothing. Some posters should take note. How far away are the Sox from Baltimore, Tampa, Houston and Texas?
  13. 2027 is like the earliest they can turn it around by, and that's if everything goes right. The fact is they're staring down a 3+ year rebuild. They're not winning s%*# during the remainder of Robert’s contract. They're as far away as they were in 2018 but with a much worse farm. We'll have to agree to disagree. There's no way they can fix this in two offseasons unless Jerry turns into Cohen.
  14. Take off the silver and black goggles. They have 5 players at best. There are 26 men on the roster. They have 4/5 of a rotation to fill, and that cannot be done in one offseason, and if they trade Cease they have to fill all 5 spots. Kopech isn't a starter. They're in a worse spot now than they were in October 2016 when they tore it to the studs.
  15. If you're realistic about their chances, they already have. The Sox aren't winning anything for the remainder of Robert's contract. IF everything goes right they MIGHT be able to compete the last year of his deal.
  16. Is Tim Elko an actual prospect? I don't really think so but not completely sure.
  17. I lurked for a really long time. Ron Vs. Abreu was a thing. I'm convinced it was schtick.
