that's the CF's ball every time. Luis would've made it known then stared down Oscar Colas or whatever bum was playing RF.

Fedde looks good so far. Don't mind pitching around Caissie, probably the most dangerous guy in the lineup.

I don't like guys getting a day off the first week of baseball. Especially when they have momentum like Pereira.

He's at where he's always been, right around 93.5. the sinker is averaging 94.4 through 1.

Dick Lovelady is who I had in mind. What a great name. Almost as good a name as "Ha Ha Dix".

How is "Junk" still a surname in the English language? Change it to "Lovelady" or something.

Schriffen speaks...
Yeah, good point, I liked Hawk's approach to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rA-rGuST4s4 This is one of my favorite calls just because this is probably how any fan would react to their team giving up a game-tying grand slam in the 14th inning. Nothing to whitewash there, it just sucks, nothing to be said. On the other end, I thought Benetti was far too neutral like he was calling a game as a national broadcaster who isn't supposed to show favoritism toward one specific team. I think Schriff understands the assignment and blows too much smoke up the ass of a knowledgable fanbase.

Schriffen speaks...
I don't mind the energetic calls or the overt homerism, or even the bizarre, headscratching things he sometimes says; what I don't like is that he doesn't seem to know much about the game of baseball or its players. There are a lot of players to study, not exclusively on the Sox major league roster but the entire league or at the very least the AL Central, but it's something you ought to do if it's your job to talk about it 162 times a year. Benetti, who I think is better at calling football and basketball than baseball, never has this specific issue. It's a preparation thing. For many fans of the sport who don't get paid to do it, it's just a fun hobby. I think if you could combine McKnight and Schriffen into one announcer, he would be very good at the job. McKnight doesn't sound good when he does play-by-play but he knows the sport well enough. Anyway, Derrick Rose won MVP his third year. Maybe Schriff improves in a contract year.

FutureSox Top 30 Week
I like Alcala, his WRC+ took a dip moving to Arizona, but did hit a bunch more homers. 40% K rate or whatever is untenable though. Lot of guys outside the top 30 who look like MLB players. Somewhat promising.

he's working hard but still good for a .90 WHIP.
