  1. Why are you being like this? I'm just replying to what you wrote and you happened to be wrong in your assessment. You said he was playing poorly but he is literally playing like a 3 WAR player because that's what the statistics are. His bat is 23% above league average and he is playing the same kind of defense he always does. Chase is playing fine and if he played exactly the same way for the rest of the season, he would produce 3 WAR. You're the one talking about 7 games and how he already needs to be benched. I simply ask "why would you replace the guy on pace for 3 WAR and not the guy on pace for -8 WAR? Because a middle infielder can't play left field?". Fact of the matter is that several of these middle infield prospects need to learn the outfield. There's no room for them. There are practically zero notable outfielders in the system outside of Braden, and if there are some to be bullish on (Wolkow, Zavala, Ely Brown, Alcala), they aren't making the MLB roster anytime soon. Converting middle infielders to outfielders is just the way baseball works. If you're a position player prospect of some note, chances are you were a shortstop in college and high school or you're left-handed and played center field. I'd start playing Bonemer there too. Bryan Ramos should've learned left and he might still be on the team. If Carlson and Roch join the team and play to their potential, where are the rest of these dudes going to play? Not to say Chase is the second baseman of the future necessarily, but there are by far bigger holes on this team.
  2. That’s not what I wrote though. All I did was extrapolate on his current production per Fangraphs and noted that’s what his statistics would be if he played at the same level for 162 games. You said he wasn’t lighting it up or something, except those are his current statistics. Extrapolate on Beni and you get a -8 WAR player. It’s pretty rudimentary math. If you can play second base, you can play left field. Converting middle infielders to the outfield is not the recipe for disaster you seem to think it is. It’s incredibly common. It’s better when they haven’t debuted. Vaughn is not the measuring stick. No first baseman is.
  3. Point being: why do you bench him if he's playing fine particularly when the left fielder is the worst player in MLB? There's a difference between making slow ass Andrew Vaughn play LF and having a middle infielder do it.

Is this the year Veras breaks out? Hard to believe he's only 23, this is his 4th season in Birmingham. Kelenic 0-19 💀💀💀
  6. 'Why now?' is what I wonder. Can't give another ring of honor to some random Bulls alum? Next season they're gonna retire Stacey King's number (hopefully just retire him). Not that it isn't deserved, I guess, but it seems like one of those nostalgia-derived things to try and keep the fanbase interested in a team putting out a less-than-stellar product.
  7. still partial to Sam Sosa.
  8. If 129 WRC+, 3.3ish WAR per 162 isn't tearing it up, I'm not really sure what the expectation for Meidroth is. The home run is doing some of the heavy lifting but those aren't numbers that make you lose your starting spot on a bad team.
  9. how it feels to lose to the white sox:
  10. Edgar's left*-handed swing looks like it's coming around too. All four at bats were hard hit. Now if he could only lift it off the ground...
  11. Maybe they call up Yariel Rodriguez, the Sock that never was. He got fuckin toasted in spring.
  12. Derek Hill being arguably the fastest guy in the league didn't hurt
  13. les contes d'hoffman...tres comique
  14. Kirk makes that throw. nice AB, Hays
  15. probably. ideally you have two really good hitters and score more than 3 runs a game
  16. I'll take the 1.000 ops to be fair. andrew vaughn could do the splits like no other, not mad he isn't there
  17. much needed K. mighta challenged that first pitch, looked like a strike
  18. IBB to the rookie. Vargas is gonna take that personally. well ok
  19. my money's on Luisangel "Ronald" Acuña. well maybe not.
  20. Vargas is the man sidenote: alejandro kirk is the funniest looking baseball player since vogelbach
